I have started practicing a little on asp.net c# and I have a very simple problem which i cannot figure out. I have th following datalist code and below the code I have attached a screenshot of how does it look like.

I have a gridview. Every time i click on the Edit command, it caused the Delete command fired. This gridview works fine on the test site, but it does not work on the live site.
Do you know what causes this issue?

in the nested ListView (or the child ListView), the edit command does not work.
It seems that the <EditItemTemplate> is not properly excecuted by the edit button in the <ItemTemplate>.
Interestingly, the edit command in the parent ListView works well.
The insert and delete commands in the nested ListView also run without any problem.
But I get no change by pushing the edit button which is located for each reply (the item of the nested listview)

i am updating data using editcommand by listview.. i got data max 50 depends on customers sometimes it has a few in the database. i am using listview and sqldatasource. when i update using editcommand in listview. it doesnt update relevant rows. it update to all data in database. why.. i have provided datasoure and list view.

My GridView uses auto generate Edit & Delete command button. And then program the insert button. I want to do something when users click the Edit button so I wrote something like this:

When click the Insert button in the Footer, the program works fine. But when trying to click the auto generate Edit button, the following statement failed with the exception stated in the code above:

View 7 RepliesI'm creating a confirm delete like popup with an iframe to use along with a gridview. When you click delete on a gridview row, the iframe shows up and asks if you would like to delete the associated image as well from the server. It works perfectly the first time I delete a row. After that whenever I click select or edit on a new row, it calls the rowdeleting event from the last deleted entry every time. I'm stumped.Here's the Sub:

Even though I searched for a similar posting (and couldn't find it), I am certain that someone must have raised this question in the past.
I am relatively new to the .net world and I am using VS2010/SQL Server 2008. I can't seem to find the problem, but when I click on the "edit" button I get a postback but I get the ItemTemplate again.

I've got a DatalList control on a page that I intend on using for Editing Items. I've added a button control into the Item Template with CommandName="Edit", and when click the button on the item, the page Posts Back and continues to display the ItemTemplate for that item.

I am having a grid with the three column date, and mode.The last column is Edit.
When i click the edit button, i need to get the corresponding date and mode and show in the pop up. for that it is possible to pass two value in the command ergument.?
The problem is that i have a search page. Access Database holding the information. I have a Access Datasource on the page with a Datalist to show the data. I need to find a way on setting it up to says "Sorry no results found" when the is no results. i am unsure on how to do this though.

But I need to edit my database but when I configure my database, I cannot see the tabel, I can only see the queries in mdb file. when I select the field from query, I am unable to update it. Am building a Form for out intranet that runs on ASP.NET and C#, it is to be a survey from a SQL database. I have the connections setup can pull informations/Questions from the database. I am having a problem with setting up radio buttons within a datalist, ive never done this and i know they require unque names.
It is to be 4 radio buttons per question where only one can be select, i know how to group just not via a datalist with unique names
How can I do paging with datalist if that datalist is populated with inputs coming from a querystring?
View 3 RepliesI have a grid view with edit and save buttons when I click on edit it is letting me edit it and if I click on save it is lettingme save the data that I have edited.
The thing is after save is done it is showing the data in edit mode i.e <edit item template > mode I am still seeing the textboxes if I refresh the page then I am seeing it normally.
How can I stop the gridview to show edit mode after the save is done?
Can someone tell me if there is a technique to make an entire Column within an gridview (for example digits) editable (instaed of a single row) and update this column after changing values by press an Update-button?
A commercial solution is also o.k. with me, but, of course, a method to do it ourselve would be nice.
