I just passed my view a list of products for the last 90 days sorted by date and need to display it in an efficient way that will group the products by date.Linq-To-Sql doesn't understand a lot of the date comparison functions,so I'm kinda lost as to what to do here.What I would like to do is contain each group of products with the same date inside of a div with a title like "Today", "Yesterday" or "Last 30 Days".

I developed an application form which includes some textboxes for input. When the user click on the button the following tasks has to be done.
1) If page is valid all data should be stored in database
2) A new webform should appear on the same window and the some content of the application form should be displayed in it.
3) When clicking on browser back button it should not post back to previous page.....

I am developing a website that display products and the users will be able to rate these products. At the end of the month a winner product will be highlighted on the website home page. What I need to know is how to determine the winner product if I have the following rating scenario, The user will rate for the product by choosing a value from 1 to 5 where 1 mean bad and 5 excellent.
If 10 users voted for the product A and the average rating was 4 and 1 user voted for product B and the average rating were 5 that mean product B will be the winner. I feel this is not the correct method to determine the winner. one has better method that take in consideration the number of voted users to determine the winner?
I am trying to find a way to limit the inputs on a webpage to a variety of different sequences, and although I have worked through the regular expression library, I am still confused on how to allow decimal places and a maximum value. I initially used rangevalidators, but as you know, these only limit the inputs to a range, and have no control over the decimal places entered. A variety of limits i have been asked to implement are:
1. Range 0-45, 0 decimal places
2. Range 0-20, 2 decimal places
3. Range 16-65, 0 decimal places
4. Range 0-99, 2 decimal places
5. Range 0-1500000, 0 decimal places
6 Range 0-200, 1 decimal place
For 1 and 5 respectively, I have used
([0-9]|[0-9]d|45)$
([0-9]|[0-9]d|1500000)$
but want to be sure that I have understood the pattern correctly. How do I then go about creating a pattern for the other examples?

View 2 RepliesAny limit to the number of nodes you can have in a treeview, I have been having some problems getting it to display with the panel I made. I have actually decided not to use the treeview, in fact may drop this part of the app altogether, but just wondering for future reference. I know if certain browsers have a limit for the the url, but can not seem to find anything, if there is anything, on a node limit. I am using asp.net 3.5 with VB and my browser is IE8, well the only one I tested on.
View 5 RepliesI have notice that the UpdatePanel post every field included on the form on every trigger.
But in most of my cases I use 2-3 UpdatePanels at the same page, and each one is independent.
When I click for update the one panel, then my page receive all the input data of the page (ok this is logical) but I won to read only this UpdatePanels data and act according, and not the other panels data.
So I see that a lot of traffic is happened this way.
So is there a way to say to one UpdatePanel - send only my input data, and not everything found on the page. ?
I have a gridview which shows products from product table. I have 1000s of products in db and gridview shows 15 records per page. I want to fetch only 15 records from database at one time but page number should show as all products are in list and with page change next products should be displayed. grid has sorting enabled. on top of page there is a text box for records filtering so I need to keep sorting in mind as well.

I have a html.dropdownlist on my webpage as follows: <%=Html.DropDownList("MyDropDown", Model.Data, new { @class = "dropdown"})%> I am populating the dropdown with ~80 items. The issue is that when I click the dropdown the list of items is rendered from the top of the screen to the bottom of the screen. How can I set up the dropdownlist so that it only displays a maximum of 20 items when the dropdown menu is clicked (i.e. user needs to scroll down to see items 21 - 80)?
I was anticipating (!) that there would be a html.dropdownlist property to control the number of displayed items that would allow something like the following e.g.: <% =Html.DropDownList("MyDropDown", Model.Data, new { @class = "dropdown", rows ="20"}) %> From research I have been doing on the msdn website it appears that there is no such property and that each browser has its own rules of how many items are displayed in a dropdownlist (?).
I have a report, which has two sections namely Labour and Spares.In labour section no of records per page must be limited to 5 records and the Spares section have to limit to 10 records per page.If either Labour or Parts exceed the max limit the records must be shown in the next page. Limiting one section by using formulas can be done easily ...but it is very difficult control two sections simultaneously.
View 4 RepliesI am trying to find a solution to control the number of logins on asp.net application. I need to install the application in the client server, and set the number of licences. e.g. only 10 users are allowed to access the app.
Every time someone tries to login I need to check how many user are logged in, compare with the total allowed then authorize that user to proceed.
I tried with Certificate, but I couldn't see where to match the number of logged in users with the max number of allowed user.
Also I would like to use the IP address as identifier, then if I open 3 browser windows, it count only one user logged.
Basically this web application will be sold by licences. We need to control the logins per computer, and not per user, and block logins if the limit of logins are reached.
