I have a gridview with checkbox. I have this code on a RowDataBound Event

e.Row.Attributes.Add("onclick", Page.ClientScript.GetPostBackEventReference(sender, "Select$" & e.Row.RowIndex.ToString)) [code]....
But the problem now is everytime I click the checkboxes I am redirected to a page because I have a Response.Redirect in SelectedIndexChanged event. How can I be able select a checkboxes and redicrect only when I click in a certain column.

I am using a gridview where there are 6 cols and the last col consist of checkboxes. I wrote a code such that all the checkboxes in the col are selected or deselected at once by clicking the header checkbox. Now the issue is since I am using paging for the Gridview, once I select the checkboxes in the last col and go for the next page and come back to the previous page the checkboxes are deselected. I want to keep the checkboxes selected even after pagination.

I've got a typed dataset that populates programmatically based upon dropdown selections from the user, and then is bound to a datagrid. One of the cols is a bit type (indicating whether or not that record is "active"). I would like that datagrid col to be exposed to the user as a bunch of checkboxes, which the user could turn on and off as needed, and then update the entire recordset according upon clicking Submit.
Is converting a dg column into checkboxes a straightforward thing to do?

I have a gridview which has a column of auto generated select buttons, where a user can select a row.However, I would like to add a column header to my auto generated select buttons in order to make the gridview look complete, but I am unable to see how I can do this. Does anyone know how I can add a header text to an auto generated select button?

I developed the grid view in which i define 2 columns(Common Name, Common ID). I have a gridview with two columns (item templates) one is a dropdown and the other is a textbox. I need to select an item from the dropdown (which I can do) and then get the cost of it and then put the cost in the texbox item template of the gridview. So I think I need to pass the row number and cost_id of the selected item to a procedure to get the cost of the item. Here is my so far code that I have now Idea how to pass the values of the gridview and then pass the cost of the item back to the proper row and textbox of the girdview.

We have a Datalist in which we have some data. Out of the 6 columns present in the datalist one of them is the primary key. Each row in the datalist has a "plus" button that will expand in the same window and display other data related to the primary key(in the same row)other than the 6 columns data that is displayed.
What I want to achieve is that on the button click, the primary key related to that particular row of Datalist should be fetched into a variable(whose button control is clicked). How to accomplish this? I am not able to find a solution as to when I click one of the buttons in a row, the particular primary key for that specific row should be attained so that I can call another function and hence retrieve the other data needed.

I am using ASPNET2008 with VB Scripting and not C# Scripting I am encountering new problem.
On the WebFrm1, I just don't know how to write the coding to retrieve the CUSTOMERID data in order to retrieve the details from SQL SERVER table to fill the textbox controls.Here is the decription of the GRIDVIEW column
In the GRIDVIEW1 on the left edge one of the column is SELECT button which let the userclick on it to select the specific CUSTOMERID on the column next to it on the right.

i have a Grid View called: GridView1.. and i have a column of DropDownList with 4 items inside it (Approve Training 1, Approve Training 2, Approve Training 3, Reject)..when the Admin or user choose one of these items and then click on the Button (Process)an event will be called (process_Click)..it should go throw all the GridView rows and check the DropDown list.. and there is if/else statement to control the selected item..
what i don't know how to do is: if the user choose item1 (Approve Training 1) for example. then the ID, GPA, TrainingCode1 will be saved in a DataBase table called Approved.how to get these information from the GridView without using Select column??this is a part of my code:

I have a gridview that includes a checkbox colum (Item Tempate).I need to be able to select row but when mouse is over checkbox column it should not be clickable. Is this possible?Think of it as an Inbox type gridview where checkbox is used for deleteing messages but when you click on subject or name it will show the message. I need the same functionality.
