I am using ASPNET2008 with VB Scripting and not C# Scripting I am encountering new problem.
On the WebFrm1, I just don't know how to write the coding to retrieve the CUSTOMERID data in order to retrieve the details from SQL SERVER table to fill the textbox controls.Here is the decription of the GRIDVIEW column
In the GRIDVIEW1 on the left edge one of the column is SELECT button which let the userclick on it to select the specific CUSTOMERID on the column next to it on the right.

I don't want to use the built in "Select" hyperlink that's in the gridview, I'd like to just use the first data column, is there a way to do that or are we forced to use the automatically generated "Select" column.

I'm creating a confirm delete like popup with an iframe to use along with a gridview. When you click delete on a gridview row, the iframe shows up and asks if you would like to delete the associated image as well from the server. It works perfectly the first time I delete a row. After that whenever I click select or edit on a new row, it calls the rowdeleting event from the last deleted entry every time. I'm stumped.Here's the Sub:

I have a problem here.
I have a Gridview, lets call it GVDistinctDate which displays Distinct Date in one column only. For example: I got 5 rows, and 1 column where the column only display distinct dates such as 02/04/2010 | 03/04/2010 | 04/04/2010 | 05/04/2010 | 06/04/2010 where obviously this dates come from a table in the database.
Now i want to take those dates in GVDistinctDate and assign it to another gridview, lets call it GVReport, as column Header Text. For this GVReport, the first column would be StudentID where a list of studentid will be displayed, and then starting from the second column onwards, where the Header Text would be the dates from GVDistinctDate, will display a Status of absent or present according to the studentID and the corresponding date. How do it get the dates from GVDistinctDate into the column Header Text of GVReport?
AND how do it display the Present or Absent status based on the studentID in column 1 GVReport and the dates on the Header Text? Below are the codes of how i got the distinct date into GVDistinctDate

I have a webpage with a select object and a GridView object. For testing my problem i've created asp button and html button.On pageLoad the GV is empty and select is being filled with names. (GV is not appearing)After choosing a name from the select options, the user should click a button and then the GV need to be filled with relevant info.I am having 2 "related" problems:
1. When clicking on the asp button and getting into the click function on the aspx.cs file, i can't find the select object and retrieve the selected option. How can i get this?
2. When clicking on the html button and getting into the button_click function on the aspx file (javascript), i can't find the GV object (getElementByID("GridView1") returns null). I guess that it's because the GV is not loaded initialy since it's empty.I've tried also using callback methods, but the although it seems like i am reaching the GV and performing DataBind(), the GV table won't show on the page.

I have an accessdatasource with multiple columns, one column I use it to populate a dropdownlist. Can I use the data from other columns to insert into a table, insert being done in the aspx.vb page, without creating gridview etc.
Is it possible to make a detailsview one column visible= false and still be able to evaluate its contents?

In a gridview i have a TemplateField containing a radioButtonList. I have around 100 rows with data and each radiobuttonlist has around 5 options. I would like to have the user to select an option from the radiobuttonList and then in my button click event to record the selected value of the radiobuttonlist for each row. The area im struggling with is how could the click event of my button send the selected value for each row?

I want to retrieve the value for the id column for each row in a gridview. I dont want this in a gridview rowdatabound function or anyhting, but an external function.
Normally I would do something like:
Convert.ToInt32(DataBinder.Eval(e.Row.DataItem, "id"))
in a rowdatabound event. I now want this from another function, something like:

i have a Grid View called: GridView1.. and i have a column of DropDownList with 4 items inside it (Approve Training 1, Approve Training 2, Approve Training 3, Reject)..when the Admin or user choose one of these items and then click on the Button (Process)an event will be called (process_Click)..it should go throw all the GridView rows and check the DropDown list.. and there is if/else statement to control the selected item..

Formview with some Accordion block. In the block there are some complex structure, displayed with GridView. (but the GriewView is generated dynamically by input ) For the GridView has some rows, I converted it into a string and stored it in a "Column" (or said "field") of a record.
But when i doing search. I cannot bind the gridview to the "column". because string has to be converted manually into dataset to be accepted by gridview.
I just hope to do the coverting in the "Selected" event and databind the gridview with the data converted.
How could I retrieve the current record?
