Forms Data Controls :: Set A Button Enable To False On Page_load When Part Of A Gridview?
May 10, 2010
I have a set of 4 buttons which part of a gridview template and I load the gridview on page_load. The datasource for the gridview comes via my controller as I am using Microsoft's Model View Controller design pattern. I set 4 public properties for each of the 4 buttons, which I can access in my controller class/method. However, when I call the method for the gridview, which sets the datasource for it on page_load, I get an error message when I try to set the enable to false. It says "Object not set to instance of object". The objective I am trying to do here is a check on a returned value, which I can achieve, and based on the return of the value that is returned, to either set the button enable to true or to false.
Unfortunately, I am getting this Object not set to instance of object error message, and I do not know how to resolve it.
I want a solution for checkbox Check changed.in my gridview when i check on any row it hits check changed event and i have made a button visible if atleast one checkbox is checked.(But when i uncheck i want the button to get hidden if no row is selected).
Suppose the Gridview on the page is for showing the detail records of the Header master record on the same page. How to disable the "Edit" within the Gridview? I would like to disable the "choose" in the Popup of the Gridview and also to disable any buttons of that.
I came across the below article, I would like to know how to properly respond to the drop or stop event so that I can show the Save button only once someone changed the order. In other words, I would like the Save button hidden initially, only to make it visible once a drag and drop has occurred.
I want to PIN the header part of my DataGrid or GridView? How is it possible? Ex: Suppose we have 100 rows in data grid, and 1 row with header. If you scroll data grid, header row shouldn't scroll. It should be fixed or PINNED. Only rows with data should scroll. Is there any in built function in data grid to achieve this functionality or any other methods to do this?
I have a datagrid control, the first column is Revno, currently presenting info in linkbutton. i want to do a condition based on another field docid, which gets true or false value from database. if true then present Revno in linkbutton otherwise show the revbnno just as a label., thatway users does'nt have ability to clickit.
<ItemTemplate> <asp:LinkButton ID="lblRevision" runat="server" CssClass="Textboxes" Text='<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "RevNo")%>' CommandName="FileDownloadRecord"></asp:LinkButton> </ItemTemplate> this docid field has flag true or false. if true meaning show the revno as LinkButton, otherwise show the revno as label. GetDocdetail(DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "Docid") on the codebehind side i can use this function. Public Function GetDocdetail(ByVal DocID As boolean) As String If DocID = "true" Then Else End If End Function
I am fairly new to Visual Web Developer so I hope this makes sense.I have a page with a GridView (code below). When a person clicks on the Select Link, I would like it to direct them to a page with a FormView of the selected row so that it can be edited. I feel that this should be fairly basic but am having trouble finding the means to make it happen.
I have a databound gridview using datatable as datasource. Template fields are used to edit the row content. This cell value should get updated in the datatable on text_changed event without using gridView edit. Is it possible to overload the GridViewEditEventHandler for this purpose.
I a using Gridview bind to a dataset. For this example, I am only setting up two columns.
1. Edit button 2. A template field that will display "No" and in Edit mode will show a checkbox.
When I run this code... the page is displayed... I click on the edit button... the row changes to edit mode and I CLICK the checkbox (can see a it checked). Then click on "Update" Button... which takes me to GridView1_RowUpdating event. If I check the status of the "box"... it's checked status is ALWAYS false Why?
I need to remove certian rows from the Gridview so that certian users can't see certian rows. I have a row databoud event that checks for certian fields in the row and disables the entire row based on the value of those fields. However, it dosen't work well because if my gridview has 20 or 30 rows I have paging so if it disables all but 2 rows the user has to click in the pages of the entire gridview until they reach that row.
I'm trying to enable/disable buttons in my gridview according to a value in gridview's field. But everytime when I try to run my page, it shows me below underlined error and point to my gvTimeSheet.DataBind() in page_load.
"Unable to cast object of type 'System.EventArgs' to type 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewRowEventArgs'." I also tried to enable / disable button in HTML but it just against from what I need it to be.
Example, sheet_status = true, I do not need to enable the button.
I have a gridview that is built based on my objectdatasource.. so at the moment, i have 1 gridview linked to 3 different objectdatasource resultsets.. my question is.. only 1 of the 3 do i want to allow or should i say enable the "GridView1_SelectedIndexChanged" ability. Is that possible, that when i bind the datasource to the gridview for that one, i can enable that?
I am using 5items inside one template field & Grid Contains only one Column.Plz Tell me how to do sortingbased on the onefield(i.e,Date&time field) out of the 5.The main logic i want implement is Most recent dated item shound come first.Kindly help me soon.asap. <asp:ButtonField Text="Void" ButtonType="Link" CommandName="Void" /> ' RowCommand Dim f_iIndex As Integer = Convert.ToInt32(e.CommandArgument) Dim f_oSelectedRow As GridViewRow = grdMeterCorrection.Rows(f_iIndex) Dim f_oCertIdCell As TableCell = f_oSelectedRow.Cells(11) Dim f_sCertId As String = f_oCertIdCell.Text.Trim If e.CommandName.ToLower = "void" Then Dim f_bVoidRet As Boolean = VoidCert(f_sCertId) End If
The problem is the CertId field in the GridView has visible set to false. I think this makes the value unaccessable to the RowCommand.
