I'm developing an ASP.NET (C#) application using EPiServer CMS 5. On the startpage we have four WebPart-zones and everything works great running it through Visual Studio. When publishing it to the production-server (IIS 7) the startpage shows as a blank page, no error what so ever...
When we remove these lines of code it works, so it has something to do with the WebParts.

I am creating a bar graph and line graph. I am using 2 dropdown list for the date and category. The user can chose the date and category that he want to view. I also have a upload button for the user to upload the excel file and dispaly the data in girdview.

I am using two data list one at the bottom & another at the Top to display paging. On Page load, I need to access link button placed inside Data List. Actually I had got two Datalists. I can access one Datalist Link button like this:

This is giving no error. But if I write same code for another datalist say dlPg1, it is giving error: Index was out of range. must be non-negative.
I have no problems viewing data on local machine but for some reason I cannot view that same report on the web. When i view source of the web page I can see data inside the javascript but the page is blank. What could I be doing wrong?

I have a listview already on the page and all the queries will return the same exact data types (just different numbers). How can I create a listview in the code behind for each one? View 9 Repliesi have a drop down list and a text box, inside a listview row (and this is a repeating layout). i populate each dropdownlist with same contents ( these contents/items come from a custom collection object).
i have added a required field validator in the listview's item template, that has its validation group = the validation group of the drop down list, and validates if the textbox is blank or not. this validation takes place on the selected index changed of the drop downlist for that row.
1. on selected index changed, EACH dropdownlist validates only its corressponding textbox perfectly (which is what i want)
but if i enter some text in one of the textboxes after doing 1, the dropdownlist for THAT particular row, assigns the correct value to the text entered. but for other rows (for which i changed their corresponding ddls to test the required field validation and for which the text boxes are still blank), their ddls by itself assign the values to the blank text without validating.

method GetIndexFromId retrieves index of the custom object inside a collection depending on the Id (which is a property) of the object.
i notice that the ddl selectedindexchanged is being hit as many number of times as many rows i change (i.e as many ddls in different rows i change to check the required field validation)
I have been building web apps for a while now and still do not know the answer to this.
I have just built a web app (using webforms) which has a page for inserting a new budget request and a page to edit and manage this budget request.
What is a pain is if I have to make changes to the business logic then I need to edit same / similar code in two places.
What I am thinking of doing is creating one page to handle this with only UPDATE logic and if the URL on page load has no ID parameter then create a blank row in table and use this new ID and then UPDATE.
Is this bad practice? I obv know I need to clear out old blank rows at some point.

The data binding is done manually in the code behind, which means you have to manually write the onpageindexchanging in there too. Normally that's done like so:

When you click to the next page on such a page, it is only blank if you have if(!Page.IsPostBack){} around your manual data binding. Well on this page with multiple gridviews I don't have that. But it's still blank when you click to the next page.

The dropdown I'm trying to load is Airports - like all of them. What are some alternative UI solutions that give the user the ability to easily select any (literally) airport, but without a ginormous page loading time? (Currently the dd is keyed to the airport's 3 letter code, so it's convenient for the prepared user to just type the 3-letter code and have the right airport selected. The display is then set to code, city, country.)
View 7 RepliesI have 3 nested grids as Parent/Child/GrandChild and I have assigned SqlDataSources to all the grids at declaration time. I place the SqlDataSource next to each grid as follows.

Because of this I am not doing anything in RowDataBound(...) event. But I used the RowCreated(..)event of Parent and Child grids to access session (Please look at the select statements of Child/GrandChild grids).
Parent grid's RowCreated(..) event puts the value in the session which is used by Child grid. Child grid's RowCreated(..) event puts the value in the session which is used by Grand Child grid.
GrandChild grid has paging enabled and whenever I click on page index, Child and GrandChild grids goes blank. Parent gird doesn't go blank because its select statement doesn't take any "select parameters".

I have a .net page in which i have a search button which populates the data in gridview. On Headder row of gridview i have a filter image button and when user clicks on it i need to have a div tag opened as popup and in which i have to load the data of first column data of grid view as list of checkboxs and when user clicks one by one the parent gridview need to be shortened out (reduce) basing on selected/checked item in div tag. Since the check box controls are added dynamically it need to happen in Page_PreInit, so what i am trying to do is on the search i am trying to post back the page which goes to the Page_PreInit and tries to create all these check boxes dynamically.

View 4 RepliesI will explain this as best I can. When a user types in a search field (ASP Textbox field) and presses enter a list of search results are displayed if there is a match. The search results display in the second half of the page. A video will play in the top half of the page but not until a querystring is passed to the page. The querystring value comes from the list of displayed search results. When a user clicks on results from the search (ASP Hyperlink) the querystring value is passed to the same page he/she is on and a video starts playing. My major problem is when I pass the querystring value I do not want to lose the list of search results. It looks like in ASP.net the page refreshes each time you pass a new value. It's not optional to make the user click the back button to see the orginal search results. I'm assuming it has something to do with maintaining session state but I am no expert. YouTube and many other sites do this similar functionality so I figure it must be possible in ASP.Net.
So basically, I want the image that I searched for to continue to display even as I select them and pass there videoID to the SQLDataSource that is expecting the QueryString. All values are being pulled from a SQL 2008 database. When the QueryString value is passed a video will play based on the value that was passed. Currently I have this working but the problem is when I pass the querystring my displayed search results are gone or disappeared. I was thinking that maybe if I could pass the querystring value and the search results value it would work. It would mean reposting the data again but I guess that's a work-around. So for instance if a user typed 'biceps' in the orginal search some kind of way I would store biceps somewhere and pass it again along with the querystring for the video. It doesn't seem like the most eficient way to do it but if someone on here suggest that's the best way I will also need help with that syntax. I am using ASP.Net 4 and VB instead of C#.

Working on a site where a user does a search, it takes the input from the user and then runs an SQL command to return the data in a gridview for the user to see. I also have a button where the user can see all the results from the DB (this will be taken out later but for now the DB is pretty small) This is all working fine, but the problem I am having is that when you look at the page source the gridview populates everything in tables on the page. This makes it really easy to just copy and paste and get everything from my database. How can I go about displaying the information to the user in a gridview, but hiding the table information in the html page source?

I need to get the text value of a label which is binding a field insiede a datalist. I can get the value by clicking a button but I need to get this value on page load so that I can make it page.title. here is how I am getting it by clicking a button (also button is inside the datalist);

So how can I get this value in page load event. I tried some way but didn't work.
I have 2 iframes in my page and 2 separate pages linked to each of these iframes. In one iframe page a tab control is placed with treeview on each tabs and the tree items are selectable (treeview with checkbox). On navigation of one tab from other an XML document stored in session is being updated with the selected treenode values.
The second iframe page is places on right side of the page which summarize the selected made on the each tabs. To do this, the page is getting loaded on tab navigation and in page load of that page, the treeview id created and displayed. We created the treeview as an object and kept in session variable then added into a panel. The only modified areas require to be updated instead of binding the entire tree on each tab's navigation.
1. The treeview must retain it's collapse/expand status on tab navigation which is not happening now.
2. When I set EnableClientScript property to true, I'm getting error on expand/collapse as Undefined 'somenodename' error. If I set the value as false, then postback is happening which should not.
I hv Declared two Master page one Is Base and Derived.. Base Page Load is working but when i hv written load controls in Derived Page Load Using C# it's not working..
