FullCalendar Events From ASHX Page Not Displaying?
Jun 7, 2010
I have been trying to add some events to the fullCalendar using a call to a ASHX page using the following code.
Page script:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#calendar').fullCalendar({
header: {
[Code]....
The ASHX page gets called and returnd the following data:
[{id: 0,title:'test 1',start: '2010-06-07',allDay: false},{id: 2,title:'test 2',start: '2010-06-07',allDay: false}]
The call to the ASHX page does not display any results, but if I paste the values returned directly into the events it displays correctly. I am I have been trying to get this code to work for a day now and I can't see why the events are not getting set.

I am trying to figure out this fullcalendar and how to get events from database. I am using asp .net I am using a webservice that has something like this. I am just trying to put a test record first then I will tie it to the database once i get it working. Just trying to figure out how to tie my webservice.
Public Class WebService1
Inherits System.Web.Services.WebService
<WebMethod()> _
<ScriptMethod(ResponseFormat:=ResponseFormat.Json, UseHttpGet:=True)> _
Public Function Getcalendar() As String
Dim sb As New StringBuilder
Dim sw As New IO.StringWriter(sb)
Dim strOut As String = String.Empty
Using writer As New JsonTextWriter(sw)
writer.WriteStartObject()
writer.WritePropertyName("id")
writer.WriteValue("999")
writer.WritePropertyName("title")
writer.WriteValue("my test")
writer.WritePropertyName("allday")
writer.WriteValue("false")
writer.WritePropertyName("start")
writer.WriteValue("2010-04-14T11:00:00")
writer.WritePropertyName("end")
writer.WriteValue("2010-04-14T13:00:00")
writer.WriteEndObject()
strOut = sw.ToString
End Using
Return strOut
End Function
End Class
And my html goes like this
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#calendar').fullCalendar({
header: {
left: 'prev,next today',
center: 'title',
right: 'month,agendaWeek,agendaDay'
},
editable: true,
events: RVCSC.WebService1.Getcalendar()
});
});

I'm integrating Fullcalendar into my app. Consider a manager interface where he can select an employee and then view this employee's calendar. Now basically I'm using the following jquery code in my view:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
$("#calendar").fullCalendar({
defaultView: 'agendaWeek',
isRTL: true,
axisFormat: 'HH:mm',
editable: true,
events: "/Scheduler/CalendarData"
});
});
</script>
Now I would like to have the controller function assigned to the events to retrieve the specific user selected by the manager: events: "/Scheduler/CalendarData/<current_user_name> Is there any way to retrieve the selected employee user name from the view (or rather pass it to the view from the controler) and then pass it onto the bound events function?

I've googled a bit for the exact order of all gridview events relative to and where inbetween page events. The only Microsoft article: [URL] is not very clear. I'm especially interested in the gridview row_command event relative to page events.

I am developing and Asp.net website. Occsionally I will have to display A Java Script dialog box. The dialog box will have two buttons on it. One labeled "Proceed" and the other labeled "Cancel". Then I need two Java Script methods to respond to which button was pressed. So I suppose my java script methods to handle the button press might look like the code below.
Anyway, I don't know how to invoke these methods when the dialog button are pressed.

I have a admin page in asp.net that adds data to a database. This database is available as a JSON string to external websites, however, since it's a lot of data, the external websites cache this data locally.I want to be able to ping the external websites to let them know the data has changed so they can referesh their cache. I figure I can setup an ASHX handler that receives a parameter telling them what data has changed, so they can both delete that data and refresh it.The only part I'm not sure about is the best way to call this external page from my admin page. Do I just do a regular WebRequest and discard the result? or is there a simpler way to call a page from code when you don't need the response?

Okay, this is a continuation of a previous question of mine, but it is distinct enough to be its own question. Based on user interaction, I'm calling a .ashx handler via a jquery ajax call, and that handler is building some html for me that includes some Telerik controls like a masked textbox (masked for a phone number like "(###) ###-####".
I got around all the hurdles of using Render() to get the html output of a server control even when it doesn't have a "Page" object or a ScriptHandler object.However, when I show the control to a user, I see the mask in the text of the textbox, but the mask doesn't "work" in the sense that when a user starts typing, it is as if the mask is really just text.
So, my question is, after putting the html code out for a masked textbox, how do I tell whatever javascript is supposed to mask the input to really start masking on that specific control?

I am using Fullcalendar on my site and I have a button to print it. I am doing this with:
function print_calendar() {
$('#calendar').css('width', '6.5in');
$('.fc-content .fc-state-highlight').css('background', '#ccc');
$('#calendar').fullCalendar('render');
bdhtml = window.document.body.innerHTML;
sprnstr = "<!--startprint-->";
eprnstr = "<!--endprint-->";
prnhtml = bdhtml.substr(bdhtml.indexOf(sprnstr) + 17);
prnhtml = prnhtml.substring(0, prnhtml.indexOf(eprnstr));
window.document.body.innerHTML = prnhtml;
window.print();
Now I also want to be able to hide the Previous Month, Next Month, Today, and Month Buttons. How can I do this via javascript? I do not want to change them in the fullcalendar code, just be able to hide them before printing but have them display the rest of the time.

When a button/link is clicked, I want this URL to be called followed by the execution of the following statements. The ASP.Net page is in C# btw.
Function A
statement A
call abc.apsx
statement B
abc.aspx is a silent page, doesn't display anything on the page but creates an output.txt file. So when abc.aspx is called, output.txt file is created and Statement B is executed seamlessly.

I am feeling that I have terribly wrong somewhere. I was working on a small asp.net app. I have some dynamic themes in the heme folder and have implemented a page base class to load the master page on the fly. The master is having the ContentPlaceHolder like: <asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="cphBody" runat="server" />
Now I am adding pages that are derived from my base class and added the form elements. I know, Visual Studio has problem showing the page in the design mode. I have a dropdown box and wish to add the event of onselectedindexchange. But it is not working. the page is like this:
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" Inherits="trigon.web.Pages.MIS.JobStatus" Title="Job Status" AspCompat="true" CodeBehind="JobStatus.aspx.cs" %>
<asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="cphBody" runat="Server">
<div id="divError" runat="server" />
<asp:DropDownList runat="server" id="jobType" onselectedindexchange="On_jobTypeSelection_Change"></asp:DropDownList>
</asp:Content>
I have also tried adding the event on the code behind like:
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
jobType.SelectedIndexChanged += new System.EventHandler(this.On_jobTypeSelection_Change);
if (!IsPostBack)
{
JobStatus_DA da = new JobStatus_DA();
jobType.DataSource = da.getJobTypes();
jobType.DataBind();
}
}
protected void On_jobTypeSelection_Change(Object sender, EventArgs e)
{
//do something here
}

I'm trying to create a page that displays a databound gridview to the user showing them the items being processed. Then the page should immediately begin processing. The problem is that the page never shows the gridview (or any other control) until the process is complete. The process is being sent to a WCF service. I've tried setting the page to async and running the wcf in async mode but the content still fails to display.

I have a problem i am trying to work out the best method with my limited skills. Im using vb.net(VS 2010) I am using a dll for an IFrame , which is call from code behind. On my site I havea masterpage which has two gridviews. ( GrdViewWebBureau is the one i am using for this query) GrdViewWebBureau is contained within an update panel and updated on a timer control trigger. GrdViewWebBureau updates the page with file counts and status from our clients. I can click on any one of the cells and the code behind is fired. What I am trying to do is put an IFrame on the master page and every time a user clicks on the grid, the Iframe is fired up.
I have tested the iframe and vb code behind from a dummy page and it works, however when the Iframe is on the master page it doeant work. What I am tryingh to achieve is that no matter what page a user is on the site, they will be able to click on the GrdViewWebBureau and the iframe will fire with the correct childpage. Each webPage may also have an Iframe as well, so i dont know if it is possible to make the IFrame global and just call that control ?? I have no idea if 1 this is possible with the code i have and 2, if i have the brains to understand the who what why and when.

Using C#, ASP.NET 3.5, VS 2008.
On a page with some user controls, I need to execute some lines of code only once (i.e. not on postback), however, the code must run after ALL page objects complete loading.
Example, Page1.aspx also contains uc1.ascx and uc2.ascx. If I imbed the code in a if (!PostBack) code block, it will end up running before the corresponding page load is completed for uc1 and uc2.
Is there a way to run the code on Page1.aspx once AFTER all the objects on the page have run thru their page load events?
