Mar 16, 2010
This is Ravi and like to learn AJAX concepts, and wrote small application ,but getting response along with html page .
<table><?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><CategoryList><Category ID="01"><MainCategory>XML</MainCategory><Description>This is a list my XML articles.</Description><Active>true</Active></Category></CategoryList></table>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

I am using this code to download and its working well for me.But i cant understand the code. Can someone explain me this code to me please?
Response.AddHeader is used to add a new HTML header, but what is an HTML header all about?and the parameters i am passing within it as the name and value;what are they?
What are the pros and cons between using the ASP.Net control compared to the old reliable table html implementation. I know that the asp:Table will end up on the returned page as a html table, and from looking into it so far people are saying its easier to work with the asp:Table in the server side code, but I'd love to hear what the stackoverflow community has to say about the matter.
I'm using Session to pass data from one page to another. The data contains HTML and when I display it in the other page, I see that it's different. This is how I put data in Session:
use a textbox and the AutoCompleteExtender to search for the customer. For example, on the PurchaseOrder form, I have a textbox with a Customer field, and when I type in the name of the customer, the AutoCompleteExtender shows the possible matches. Now, it takes a few seconds to show the list of values, even with setting the correct values on the extender, and if the user types in the name of the company, e.g. Contoso, and leaves the textbox, there might be 2 Contoso's in the database. The AutoCompleteExtender does not continue when the user leaves the textbox, thus the CustomerId is not determined yet.
I'm trying to implement an auction website and I search in web the Ajax Push is the best way where I can use! So, I'm finding some samples in web to learn how to implement Ajax Push (comet) in client and server. By the way, I find some samples in ASP.Net Webforms, but no in MVC version. I'd like to find a demo, sample, anything ... that use MVC
i have a template page which open from several page and load the data from several tables in data base.want to know what is the best way to implement this tepmlate page?i want some nice control to implement this page.i wrote its code but want use some graphical controls like rad window to implement it. i use rad window but it doesnt enough to me.
I've been implementing Seadragon (as part of the ACT), but have recently found some users complaining of slow speeds whilst using it - I thought this odd because the whole idea of Seadragon and DeepZoom is streaming images as they're required rather than loading one huge image in one request.
I've done a bit of testing (using Firebug) on both our web pages and the ASP.net ACT Sample website Seadragon control, and have found that when the control is opened on screen, the browser decides to load all the tile images at once (even the tiles which aren't at the default zoom level).
Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone know why it does it/if there's a fix? The fact it happens on the ACT sample site has left me tearing my hair out because I know that it's not just my implementation of the control that's causing problems.
I have this link <a href='printBarcode.aspx?code=HF54A'>Print Bar-code</a> and I want to print the response that the server sends for that link. Is that even possible? The response is text but it's not HTML, is some text that a special printer recognizes for printing bar-codes.
The idea is this: the user clicks on the link then the browser receives the response for that link and prompts to print it's content.
Now lets assume that "myPage.aspx" returns "Done" if success or returns "Error" if fails.I want to display an alert showing the result. How do i handle the myPage.aspx response?
i have to create a gridview on search button click. when user enter a name in the textbox then all the matching name will be displayed in the gridview at runtime , also it should have option to edit, delete ,update existing rows in gridview as well as new rows can be entered. thats why i have to append three buttons dynamically insert, edit and delete with each row of gridview..
I'm quite new to ASP.net and developing my first website. I've created a Master Page Webform, and several other webforms based on that. The trouble is that the Master Page webform's meta tags (description, keywords and author) is rendered for all web pages. Is there a way in the web-form's Page_Load() event to set this tag? I tried to set it using response.write(), but it added this tag at the beginning of the document, not inside the <head> tag where it is supposed to be? Do any of you know how to write this inside the <head> tag? [URL]
I'm trying to create an ASPX page that displays both an HTML message ("Please wait, your file transfer will begin momentarily") and also commence transmitting a file. I'm trying to avoid making the user open the page, and then clicking a Download buttonIt seems like this may be possible with a "Multipart/mixed" MIME type. Elsewhere I think I read that ASP.NET won't support this.
I am creating a web application that allows a user to download a csv file of a gridview. However, after looking at tutorials online such as http://www.aspsnippets.com/Articles/Export-GridView-To-Word-Excel-PDF-CSV-Formats-in-ASP.Net.aspxand such, I successfully got the table I wanted but there are HTML content appended to the table as well. There was also a similar problem being brought up on the forum,http://forums.asp.net/p/1528174/3692826.aspx. The solutions didn't help me much though. However, I am not really sure how Handlers can benefit this. Furthermore, I don't want the user to be navigated to a blank page just to download the csv file. I tried to debug and insert removal code to remove the html code before the response object is being wrote out but seems even at the end of the writing method, the response object seems to be holding just the table content only.
How can I remove the html content and add new string to the Response object. If I use the Respose.Write method the page contains the string, but while taking the view source option from browser it will display some html tag like Doctype, head, body etc. My requirement is only the string should be displayed in the source.
