View 1 RepliesI am using the SQLDataSource control and binding it to a gridview. When there are no records returned the gridview header is not showing. I want it to show no matter what is returned. I am not calling a stored procedure - I am writing my own select statement in the SelectCommand. How to show the header with no results? I searched but did not find an answer when using the SQLDataSource.

View 1 RepliesI have a couple of tabs and one has a gridview in. One of the columns on the gridview is a Completed field (Yes / No).
On page load is it possible to show on the tab header the amount of rows that have not been marked as compeleted?
Ie so the tab would look like this:
Orders (2)
and the 2 will show that there are 2 rows on the gridview where completed = no
I have searched all over the internet and there are just too many solutions that basically is not working for me right now unfortunately. i just want to display my gridview header and I dont want to add a blank row in any form.
View 3 RepliesHow to display the selected value of a dropdownlist in header taemplate of a gridview? As i change the dropdownlist's value, it should also change in the gridview. i have taken a label in the gridview's header template named "lbl_mnth" my dropdownlist's id is "ddl_mnth".
View 1 RepliesI am trying to implement a fixed header feature addition to an existing sub class of GridView, SGridView.My issue is that with the solution listed below, the scroll bar appears below the header row and looks tacky. I would prefer that the scrollbar runs vertically through the header to the footer. The only issue is that this means that the first couple of rows would be covered by the header because the scrollbar height isn't accounting for the inclusion of the header row (I assume this is a side effect of absolute positioning). Any thoughts on how to correct that?
My solution consists of the following:
<div class="IEScrollDiv">
<table class="GridView">
<thead>
[code]...
More or less, added additional code into the Render() method to wrap the table in a div that can scroll. Nothing too fancy. Then I configured the table to render , , and tags for accessibility.Since adding scrolling to tbody is undefined in IE, I could not utilize it to create a fixed header (lame). In addition, the expression css rule has been deprecated from IE8 so I couldn't use that approach either (plenty of tutorials online utilizing it).So, I added javascript to to absolutely position the header row, via it's class GVHeader.

I have a Gridview where I want to handle the Sorting in a custom control that I've added to the header.
I've added this control to my GridView's Header via OnRowCreate event handling. I want the Sort Expressions to persist session to session (via Webparts Personalization)
Here is what I have for adding the custom header control to the GridView Header
[Code]....
This works out well for adding the control, but I can't get anything to persist because these controls are creating initially via postback (per the event) and re-created on all subsequent postbacks. I can't add an If(!IsPostback) because the controls are initially created on the gridview's postback (well at least thats how it's acting when I put it in there) If I were to add this control via the ASP page, not via the Codebehind, I would be able to persist the control. If I try to treat it as though everything is setup correctly, and assign my custom control's controls to [Personalizable], I get a runtime error telling me that I can only have webpartzones in or before Page_init (I'm guessing this is due to when/where the
gridview hits the OnRowCreate event). If there is some fundimental logic I'm missing, or best practices that I'm moving away from,
is there anyway i can add in the gridview in header column name a button instead of label ?
column name 1 column name 2 column name 3 button
i am using checkbox column in item template for the button ,i wish after selecting checkbox for some row to click on the button on the header !!
I am using the following code to change the header based on the session variable

I´m looking for some advice on how to create an table showing bookings, a table containing mon-sun on the horizontal axis and times at the vertical. The admin is able to edit each days bookable times (first bookable time, last bookable time) - The slottime is constant.
What I want is let the admin click on eacha cell to remove it/add it when removed. And other features as well, like create an booking for a customer.
What would be the easiest way to achive this, at the moment I use dynamic links since I cant get asp:buttons to work and the code to create an dynamic asp:table row by row and this produces some ugly code.
So any advice on how to achive such an "schedule".
i have a gridview bound to sql datasource with template fields binding the columns. I have set the Header Style to a css class. I have 3 columns not bound to data as Add, Edit and Delete. When I set the text color to white for the header only the non bound columns go white. The bound columns are BLUE like hyperlink. Any one know a way round this. (If I set the style in the gridview the all columns are white. Want to set in external css file).
[Code]....
Given the following object
public class CompetitionYear : IValidatableObject{public Guid Id { get; set; } [Display(ResourceType = typeof(Terms), Name = "Description")]public string Description { get; set; } [Display(ResourceType = typeof(Terms), Name = "Startdate")]public DateTime Startdate { get; set; } [Display(ResourceType = typeof(Terms), Name = "Enddate")]public DateTime Enddate { get; set; } }
In a View I want to show a table with in the headers the DisplayName of the respective properties.
The view is like this:
@model IEnumerable<CompetitionYear> @{ ViewBag.Title = "Index";} <h2>Index</h2> <p> @Html.ActionLink("Create New", "Create")</p><table> <tr> <th></th> <th> @Html.LabelFor(m => m.FirstOrDefault().Description) </th> <th> @Html.LabelFor(m => m.FirstOrDefault().Startdate) </th> <th> @Html.LabelFor(m => m.FirstOrDefault().Enddate) </th> </tr> @foreach (var item in Model) { <tr> <td> @Html.ActionLink("Edit", "Edit", new { id=item.Id }) | @Html.ActionLink("Details", "Details", new { id=item.Id }) | @Html.ActionLink("Delete", "Delete", new { id=item.Id }) </td> <td> @item.Description </td> <td> @String.Format("{0:D}", item.Startdate) </td> <td> @String.Format("{0:D}", item.Enddate) </td> </tr>} </table>
In the headers I want to show the DisplayName of the property. The only way I can get it working is as shown above. It really looks ugly and I can't imagine there isn't a better solution. Is there a better solution and how does it look like?
I would like to in a table/matrix in the table header but it is not allowed. Any solution that I can insert a table as a report header and display on each page?

In my application I have a formview where I have a table. In the table I have some labels some of which shows text and some are databind. When there is no value in the database for a label the table is not showing that space where the label is.
How can I have the space even if there is no data.
I need to show/hide a table-row upon the click of a linkbutton. I have gotten it to show the row when clicked, but instantly reverts back to being hidden. I have tried putting the CSS style display attribute in a numerous amount of ways and it is still not working.
This is my .aspx file:

This is the .js file that is properly imported:

When loading the page I have tried a numerous amount of ways to set the attribute to none, in the stylesheet, in the style attribute of the tag on the .aspx file, via a similar javascript function that hides the element. All of these show the same result, when clicking the button it simply reloads into being hidden after being changed.
i m developing website in asp.net n page name is 1.aspx i want to show records in table form but my requirement is that it should be hyperlink username when ever visitor clicks on that.next page will come n the username passed to another page <td><%#Container.DataItem("user_name")%> </td>
View 4 RepliesI have two tables that are displayed on a webpage (and which are populated dynamically on the client side). Here is the markup for the tables:
Table 1:
[Code]....
Table 2:
[Code]....
So Table 1 shows up (just the header row, before the table body is populated), but Table 2 doesn't, even though I can see the markup in the source code. Strangely enough, if I remove the class from Table 2, it shows up (but I still can't get any of my JavaScript events to fire on it).
Here is the CSS class ("data_table"):
[Code]....
I have a list view configured to show data from a table. Below is this code for the ItemTemplate:
<ItemTemplate>
<td id="Td2" runat="server">
<table border="0" width="300">
<tr>
<td style="width: 25px;">
</td>
<td style="vertical-align: middle; text-align: right;">
<a href='TrackDetails.aspx?TrackID=<%# Eval("TrackID") %>'>
<asp:Image ID="Image1" runat="server" ImageUrl="~/Catalog/Tracks/Images/<%# Eval('CDImageLocation') %>" AlternateText='<%# Eval("CDImageLocation") %>' Height="80" Width="80" />
</a>
</td>
<td style="width: 250px; vertical-align: middle;">
<a href='TrackDetails.aspx?TrackID=<%# Eval("TrackID") %>'><span class="ProductListHead">
<%# Eval("tName")%></span><br>
...
</ItemTemplate>"
The trouble is the image is not showing up. I have used this code on other projects and it worked well. For some reason the Eval function is not evaluating the image location, yet in the alternate text it workd just fine.
I'm creating dynamic table which having more than 20 rows and number of columns can be change according to user input. first column is header and other columns need to bind using data returning from web services. And there are few rows which can editable. when user click on submit button need to validate the changed cells and process the data.I have created ASP.net table and added rows and cells one by one. but this is not reusable way of doing, is there any alternative to create editable dynamic table with left column as header?
View 3 RepliesIn SSRS 2005 I could select the header row of a table and in the properties window, expand the BorderStyle property and type Solid in the Bottom property and I would get a border at the bottom of the row containing my column headers. In SSRS 2008 I cannot do this. If I select the header row, the BorderColor, BorderStyle and BorderWidth properties do nothing when you expand them. If you try typing into them you get an error: "Property is not valid." So I selected the header textbox for one column and tried adding the bottom border to it, thinking that I might have to set each column individually, but the border does not appear for that column heading.
