I've an ".aspx" page and it refresh every 5000 milisecond, but the matter is "white screen" when it refresh. Is there any solution to fix it with JavaScript (AJAX) ?
When I build me C# web app in VS 2008 I am presented with a white screen. Internet exporer shows that it is 'Done'. This happens no matter which Form of my project I run and will not display even the directory screen.
I recently copied and pasted controls from one form to another and after this it seems to have stopped working. I have tried deleting the newly created controls and then eventually the Form.
There are a lot of new features in VS 2010 that I'm very much enjoying, but there are two things occurring that I'm wondering about. I often have several windows open like any developer will, and I arrange them in a particular order that makes sense to me, from left to right. As new windows are opened, tabs are created at the far left, and I move them to where I want them. Basically, I like to have the database diagram at the far left, then the repository class for whatever controller I'm working on, then the service class, then controller class and then various views. Not that my particular order is important to the question, but here it is.
I've noticed that, while working and switching between tabs (by clicking on the tab - not moving it or removing the current one), this order is getting changed. Some of the tabs that I've dragged over to the far right will suddenly be on the far left. The rearrangement always places windows on the far left. This happens regularly, and I've paid attention to my actions, so I know I'm not accidentally dragging them over myself, or closing/reopening them. This seems to occur with the tabs that I use the most, as if Visual Studio is trying to place my most-used tabs over to the far left. I'd rather this not happen and handle the order of the tabs myself.
The other thing is less important, but is a little odd. When I start my MVC 2 application in debug mode, my entire code window goes completely white until the application loads. This never happened in VS 2008, and I'm guessing it's some kind of side effect of having the interface written in WPF. It's not that bad, but is a little annoying.
I been stack for the last few days trying to figure out the SilverLight 4 LineSeries graph, for some strange reason the graph being displayed but the line not being displayed. I am pretty sure that my mistake is something very basic but I been straggling to pinpoint the problem by myself.Bellow is the code that I having problem with.
I have an MVC 3 app that I created an ASPX view with a Site.Master that hosts a silverlight app. I have to build some initparams to pass into the silverlight app so I have some C# sharp script that I put into the site.master page along with the javascript.
When I access the page I get an error, "The name 'BuildInitParams' does not exist in the current context". It seems it cannot find the script. Below is my code for both the master page and the aspx page. I've tried moving the script into the aspx page itself but got a totally different error that time.
Is there anything special I need to do to host a Silverlight app inside an MVC app? Does anyone have any sample code or is it pretty much the same as with and aspx page? I tried it but I was never able to see my app so I may be missing something.
i have develop my silver light application using asp.net and i want to deploy it , i am using vs 2010 and planing to use vsweb deployment project 2010 for beta
When I create a default silverlight application in VS2010, I get a silverlight user control and a web site that hosts it. The object tag in the apsx page that hosts the silverlight object has its width and height set to 100%. The silverlight user control takes up all the broswer window and it also grows and shrinks properly as the browser is resized. Perfect.
If I add a master page and child page, in the child page I copy the object tag, still set at 100% height, the rendered page does not expand to fill the browser window/ I can set the object tag height to, say, 600, and it now is static at 600, but I want it to be dynamic just like when it was not hosted on a master page.
I do not believe this to be a silverlight issue, but rather a content placeholder sizing issue. I have tried a lot of diffferent ways to set the height, but nothing I do allows me to make the child page hosted object size itself based on the browser window,
Is it possile to get this to work or is this a consequence of using master pages? I can post sample code demonstrating this if needed.
EDIT: I was able to use a javascript function on window.onload to get the browser height and set the div height that contains the object tag, this works but is not dynamic. I would like it to be dynamic like the non-master page hosted object is.
i have a gridview bound to sql datasource with template fields binding the columns. I have set the Header Style to a css class. I have 3 columns not bound to data as Add, Edit and Delete. When I set the text color to white for the header only the non bound columns go white. The bound columns are BLUE like hyperlink. Any one know a way round this. (If I set the style in the gridview the all columns are white. Want to set in external css file).
I have question regarding printer option page which pop up when i click on print button on crystalreportviewer and when i click okay on that pop up page it displays print preview of the report.
Is there any way to skip that pop up window(Printer Option) and just display (PDF)print preview screen instead?
(I am not exporting report to pdf, just want to display printview screen and when the user click on print button it will print out the page)
I have tried following code but i am getting error:
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
it opens a filedialog, gets the selected file, transfers it to asp.net which saves it to the server, but i want to know how to implement a progress bar for it. for big files, and multiple file uploads, i will need to know the progress of the file upload to the server, is this possible?
Here is an easy one:I need a stable simple file uploader with a progress bar, I have found lots of fancy ones from the search. However, I need the community opinion on which ones to go with? Tutorial links would be appreciated.BOUNTY: I have a FileStream which I would like to upload to a server, below is a sample server server URL:string uploadUri;string SavedFileName = "testXRay.jpg" uploadUri = @"http://localhost/MyApplication/Upload/Images/" + SavedFileName;I am adding a bounty in hope to get a working solution which I could use from my SL application. MyApplication is hosted in IIS.
I have upgraded web application from VS.2008 to vs 2010. I was using previously ReportViewer 2008 control in a page and replaced with 2010 ReportViewer Control.
I have installed the ReportViewer Redistributable also in my local pc as well as in the server. Also as per the new requirement I have placed the Scriptmanager in the web page where the reportviewer control located.
While running the page, the reportviewer run the report and is not showing the data on the screen. It shows the blank screen. But If I export the data to execl or world it is showing the data. Also the page numbers in the reportviewer showing the total pages available in the navigation bar. I am sure the report is running and bringing the data to the screen but not showing it.
The below is the exact scenario, One form will be there and when user click on "Edit" hyper link other window will open to get more details. In that new window also I have a grid or a table which has other hyperlink which lead to open other window and in that window I will enter few details and save it....
it may not have to do with silverlight as such, but a "security" issue. I appologize if that was wrong.
I´m having a go at silverlight...
I want to display large amount of data in good looking charts. Ideally, I would use a web service. However none of the tutorials I´ve watched works. There´s always some component or class missing.
So I figured I´d do it the "ugly" way, creating a xml file from a dataset, and then reading it in the silverlight app.
Now when debugging, I use a local file, which is apparently not permitted
I've been developing a game using Silverlight 4 and silversprite (http://silversprite.codeplex.com/)
This game is HEAVILY content dependent, using a lot of audio and images. My content folder is around 90 mbs worth of stuff. And because of that, my XAP file is around 60 MB, and takes 5 minutes to download from the website before any user can start playing.
I am using Visual Web Developer 2010 to create my site and load the XAP. Is there a way where I can take content out of my XAP and put it in my ASP.net site project? Or perhaps upload my content files to the site's storage?
This would make my XAP file much quicker to download.
I have this situation where I need to display a bunch of files pulled from a Sharepoint site in a Silverlight application. I use a WCF service to get the data from the Sharepoint site.
So what I have is file names with their corresponding extensions. What I need to do is, display the files in the Silverlight application with their corresponding file type icon and file name. The following is the Heirarchical data template I use to display the files in the Silverlight application.
I've created a silverlight application, MainPage.xaml has silverlight controls. The code behind of it will be definately in MainPage.xaml.cs file. When creating a silverlight app, I've selected a default web project wherein this silverlight app will be hosted and run. After all my work in MainPage.xaml.cs file, I want to integrate it in my default.aspx file. As i understand, I need to give reference to xap file in this aspx file. I tried accessing
<asp:Silverlight ID="xx" runat="Server.. />
tag but had no luck. This tag does not come up, Am i missing to add reference to any silverlight dll to my web application. Or is this tag applicable for Silverlight 2.0 and not 3.0 which I'm using:
I am creating an excel spreadsheet server side and downloading to the client via a Silverlight front-end. It is started by the user clicking a button and being presented with a SaveFileDialog. Once the user enters a file name then silverlight starts an asynchronous call to a web service and when finished returns a byte array which is written to wherever the user requested to save it. This all works fine. How do I then automatically open this file on the client's PC?
I'm building a cms and I want users to be able to upload videos but I'm not familiar with video upload & conversion. Is there an example or has anybody coded a solution like this? I heard about ffmpeg but I don't know how to integrate it with asp.net.
As simple solution I can make my clients upload flv files but then I would still need to get a screenshot from that fvl.
