Jun 24, 2012I want to email the contents of an Asp:Table.
What would be the best way to go about this? I've done selecting individual fields but it seems as though it can be done a whole lot easier.

Mar 24, 2010I recently added a Telerik control to an ascx that is included in an aspx page. This page has a "Send email" button, which when clicked will email the user the rendered output of the page. The Telerik control I added requires a ScriptManager, so I added that to the ascx. However, now the email button won't work. I get the following error:
The control with ID 'myIdHere' requires a ScriptManager on the page. The ScriptManager must appear before any controls that need it.I know the script manager exists because the page works fine when I go that url, it is only failing when it tries to email the rendered output.Here's a code snippet, any ideas as to whether there is a problem with scriptmanager when doing this sort of thing?

In A .Net Web Site / Options For Sending Email Alerts When Folder Contents Change?
Nov 30, 2010I don't know much about the .Net environment, so my first idea was to just write a console app that scans the folder for new content, and then emails alerts out. Then put the .exe as a scheduled task on the server, executing every few minutes. This seems pretty archaic to me though. Is there a more elegant way to do this for my website?

Feb 2, 2011For a certain project I need to be able to send the contents of a webpage to people who enter their e-mail address somewhere. For this I've scoured the internet and came upon a couple of possible sollutions. The first would be to use a scraper which would just look up the webpage and then mail the html contents to someone. The problem with this is that internet html (and more importantly css) and mail html might be completely different things when you look at outlook. This also takes the entire masterpage with it, while I pretty much just want the inner content.
Second sollution was completely rebuilding the pages in my mail function, based on a few given parameters. Seeing as there's many different types of pages that need to be sent, this would take ages to do...
Last sollution I came upon was manually calling rendercontrol. This actually seemed like a viable way of doing this, but of course, things go wrong. The structure of the website is as follows: Masterpage includes default.aspx, default.aspx has a placeholder which gets filled with a control I manually load (loadcontrol(path)) based on what page I need. This control is the one I need. My way of trying to render this control to send through mail is the following: first, I create a page, then I'll load the user control and finally I use UC.RenderControl(writer)
This does give me the basic html lay-out, but it seems that the Page_Load isn't being called, causing none of my variables to actually be filled in. Is there any way I can cause the control to be rendered just as if it were rendered inside a page's lifecycle?

Feb 9, 2011I am trying to use aspx pages as an email templates. There will likely be a bunch of objects on the page which will be used as replacements in the html. Because it's an aspx page I'll be able to use databinding, repeaters, etc. At run time, I want to be able to instantiate the aspx page from its path, pass in a bunch of properties, and then get the rendered result of the page and email it. This seems pretty straightforward from a asp.net website (maybe using BuildManager or Server.Execute.) However, I want to be able to use the same templates via a console application by just loading up a page object from its filepath. Is this possible?

The actual name is another field in the DB. How do I login and authenticate against the email address and then load the correct name in the User object?
I am using forms authentication with a custom MembershipProvider and RoleProvider.

I have a custom MembershipProvider that validates users by email address and password. It is called by the basic Login Control and registered in web.config.

Unable To Use Webclient Object To Download A File In SharePoint Email Enabled Document Library?
Feb 22, 2010I am using webclient object to download a file to a windows folder from a sharepoint document library. The credentials I am passing to the webclient object are that of site collection administrator. everything works fine while i test it by uploading a file to the document library. But since the document library is email enabled; when an email is received the file is not transferred to the windows folder. i have put some workflow history events to see which user account is used when the email is received. the user account shown is the network service account. I have given write permissions on the folder to all the users; Everyone, Network service, the site collection administrator user etc. but still i cant figure out what is the problem.

Aug 24, 2010I have set a job in sql server 2008 to send reminder emails for product expiration. Now I want a report which will specify the list of the emails sent with the email status details like queued ,sent,delivered, failed.
I can fetch the emails that are sent by querying the like following

The problem is only getting a perfect status of email whether it is delived or failed. How I can get those status ?
