I have a Dynamically created a Textbox and i have a Dynamically created DIV. So what i want to do is to Find the Position of the Textbox and and Dynamically when this textbox is created , please a Div just next to this textbox. So my plan was to find the position of the textbox and next to it using the position of the textbox and calculate the position of a Div.

View 36 RepliesI have a MasterPage with a Textbox and an imageButton, one this MasterPage im using a web.Sitemap and global.asax for navigation, its works fine.Im im one the page URL... i get this in the browser bc of the global.asax URL...So its works fine the navigation.My problen is that when i type ind a value in the textbox on the masterpage and click the imageButton its then PostBackUrl="~/imailtest.aspx" that page isent using the masterpage but its looking for the id for the textbox on the masterpage.
But every time i hit the imagebutton i get this error: HttpException was unhandled by user code.The file /ebbe/Butikken do not exsist.And it ref to the codeline ct=Me.Prev..... line.
So its PostBack me from the default.aspx (With masterpage) to the imailtest.aspx as it need to, i just cant get the vaule from the textbox id="newsletter" from the masterpage.bc. it cant find the page.My imailtest.aspx Code_Behind is:

I have a user control with a textbox. I am loading it at runtime on parent page with code behind.After click of button on a parent page i need the text of that usercontrol's textbox.
I tried with following code but it does not work for me

What I am trying to do is have a label a textbox and a regular expression in one line and that for 3 lines.
label ---->textbox-->reg expression
label ---->textbox-->reg expression
label ---->textbox-->reg expression
in 3 different lines one above the other.
My problem is that the textbox (and possibly reg expression but i haven't tryied it yet) is not only lossing possition with it's above textbox when zooming but also it will have another position with another browser.So i cannot center the textboxes in one common position one above the other for all zooming and browsing.
What i think is the problem is that the label is pushing the textboxes to the right when zooming and also the letters will zoom a little more or less, according the phrase(so hello will zoom a little more that iiihi, cuz h and e and o take more space).That is just a thought.Anyhow i have tried several html designs starting with one of 3 divs that will include each line but it does not work.My latest try is this one(i'll just use 2 lines for now).
May I also mention that this goes on inside a tab of a TabContainer

So what I'm trying is to have a full line div then 2 included spans,a span for the label and a span for the textbox.This will work but the below textbox will not center and it will also have to have more or less "%" value because clearly it does not ignore the label spacing.

Edit, when tested absolute positioning the textbox got bigger(!!!) and in mozilla it was on the wrong side.
I have a panel in aspx page. In runtime an creating a panel and set the background image, and am adding the textbox in panel created at finally we added it in panel at aspx page. I give the the position as relative in the style property for the textbox that i added in runtime, and i gave the top and left position. First textbox is working well. from second textbox it not get place in the exactplace what i gave.

I have a custom user control that contains within it a repeater control. Inside this repeater I programmatically add another custom user control, which contains a text box and a custom validator. This final custom user control can be added any number of times depending on the application's logic. All of this is part of a wizard step. When the user completes the step, if any of the data added to the text boxes is incorrect the validator gets fired on post back. However, because I can have any number of these controls added to the repeater, the user has to scroll down to see any of the incorrectly completed boxes.
Due to the controls being added dynamically it is not possible to use a validation summary control - I have tried!!! Therefore, is there away I can use JavaScript to position a cursor or to jump to each incorrectly completed textbox without the user needing to scroll down the page? For example, if there are 10 textboxes, and textboxes 8 and 9 have numbers inside them inside strings, then the JavaScript should jump textbox 9.
I have a gridview with a template field column. In the edittemplate of that column i have a textbox. In the next column of the gridview i have a button. When i click the button i need to find the value of the before mentioned textbox. I do it like this:
gridview1.selectedrow.findcontrol("textbox1"). This sometimes work just fine and without a problem but sometimes it seems it can't find that control and throws a null reference object. The error it's random like i said, sometimes just work and other just don't work...

It returns the number of records that preceed the first one to match the string. I have tried to call this procedure from MVC and it always returns -1, so I have a fundamental problem there. I have also tried ot figure out how to just duplicate the code in MVC and I also cannot seem to get anywhere on that front.
Does anyone know a simple elegant solution to either embed this code diretly into MVC or to call my stored procedure from MVC and get the correct integer response back, instead of -1? I am engaged in relearning development after many years, so I am getting stuck on the basics.
I have a page that I am adding user controls to the bottom of the controls each postback. The User Control has a textbox in it and the focus needs to be on this newly created control textbox each time. It all works almost perfectly however when there are too many controls to fit on the page, because I set the focus to the textbox the bottom of the page is set to the textbox that has focus not the very bottom of the page. I have a submit button below this which ends up below the page limit. How can I set focus to a textbox but still scroll to the every bottom of the page to show the submit button.

The HttpPost of this simple form, will be handled by an action of my controller. This action will render a PartialView.The PartialView has a table that I fill with a ViewModel. Also it has another Ajax.BeginForm and another input button (Button 2). This new Ajax.BeginForm is handled by an action that has to do something with the data posted.
Here's the thing: I click the Button 1, fill the table and everything is going well, but after that when I click everywhere in the page, the Button 2 change it's position to the bottom of the page and get the focus ... I don't know why ...

I'm designing a new site using CSS instead tables to position elements.Until now I was working only with tables.The tests were working well but when I use master pages and try to define the positioning of the page elements inside a content page it not works. I am using GeoMap in my website, and GeoMap is little below in Web Page.I am using filters in GeoMap, i.e., when user selects any station and clicks on "button", all the locations related to selection shows in GeoMap. But everytime when I filter and click on button, page loads and scroll upward then again to see the filteration result in Geo Map, I had to scroll down my page.I want that when I filter any station and click on button, page should stick to that GeoMap section. It should not go upward until user scrolls the page.For this I tried using "Update panel" but then GeoMap javascript is not working.
