I'm trying to build an igoogle like interface and I can get it to work, but my data for the panels loads to slow which makes the complete page load way to slow. So I need a way to load the page and then start loading panels individually. I looked at update panels but they seem to only work when post back occurs. I need a way to load the page by piece from the first time the person comes to the site.
I have a website where different comapny and users can login. Till now I have not seen any issue on IE 6. But in case of one account, when try to login the website, users are getting security information "This page contains both secure and non-secure items.
I can reproduce the same easily for the same customer but not happening for any other customer. I have "ReportViewer" control (gets rendered as iframes) on the page.
In this scenario, whether user selectes "Yes" or "No" button, the home page with charts loads 30% and other controls remains invisible. Though I see same out in "View source" for this and other customers. We dont change anything much then the data and charts for the users. We use https for this website and has few links with "http" in page. But then this is same for all the users, but it happens only in case of one customer.
I have a list of items that loads when I call the page controller and I have an Ajax.BeginForm that calls the same (Index) Action. If the Action sees that it's an Ajax request (Request.IsAjaxRequest()) then it returns a partial view. I even have a div that contains a message about the results loading. That all works fine, but my results can sometimes take awhile and I'd like to hit the page first and then make the Ajax request so the user sees the page quickly and sees the "loading" message. I know I could click my filter button (triggering the ajax call) using jquery on document.ready, but is there a more MVC way to do this?
Currently the page load slow. I am thinking of using JQuery load and render List<A> and List<B> separately and asynchronously. Can I still use MVVM pattern? Or I had to create to controller methods returning List<A> and List<B> separately?]
I am new to ASP.NET MVC, how to load partial page data again when calling different views?. I have divided my site.master page into two divs: Left Menu, and Right. When the first page load. Home/Index, it get the GetSourceList() from the Home Contoller and display the item as menu on left. The issue i'm having when I click on the item on the left, it display the data on the right but doesn't show the menu. I have a site.master reference in my list page.
I'm really new to MVC (just started a few weeks ago) and new to Ajax (never looked at it before today). I need some design / technical advice concerning Ajax, MVC, loading partial views, and posting / getting from a view. What I'd like to do it load a partial view that takes in a list of objects that have been queried from my db into an details-type view. The details view already has some other content that has been handeled and loaded from information pulled from my database and setup through some actions. It is strongly types to a model.
Below is the partial view I've created thus far:
And here's a portion of the Details page:
I'm not sure what to do for the Ajax.ActionLink. I'd like for a use to be able to type into the text box on it's left and hit "Add" (the Ajax link) and have the application add the content in the text box to the database. Should it be something else? An <input>? The Controller code piece is below:
So it should be adding the member into the repo / db and then reload the contents of the partialview. Instead, it's reloading the whole page and not just the partial view. (the url is changing from /project/details/5 to /project/membersection/).
The following link describes the relationships between a Partial View and its parent in terms of ViewData: [URL] In relation to the text: "A partial view enables you to define a view that will be rendered inside a parent view. Partial views are implemented as ASP.NET user controls (.ascx).
When a partial view is instantiated, it gets its own copy of the ViewDataDictionary object that is available to the parent view. The partial view therefore has access to the data of the parent view. However, if the partial view updates the data, those updates affect only the partial view's ViewData object. The parent view's data is not changed"
how the parent view can make use of the new data added or existing data changed and updated, by the partial views? My question is around how to load partial views dynamically at runtime using Html.RenderPartial(...) whilst having one version of the data used and updated by the parent view and it's children.
Members view (index) that lists members that users can select to show a partial view in the same view with details for the selected memberUses jquery (Ajax.ActionLink) to call a partial view method in the members controller to then load the members detail sectionWorks fine up to here....but I'd like to load the partial view with "member" details for a default or random member on initial load -- ie not through the Actionlink selectionHow do I invoke the partial view method on the initial load?
I have a master page with a partial view. I want the partial view to display only when viewing a specific page/action. Is there any conditional I can wrap around the partial view that checks for the page/action I'm viewing?
I have a page with a (gridview nested within a gridview) in an UpdatePanel (UpdateMode="Conditional"). The nested gridview drops down when you click on an arrow and then you can click on each subgrid rows command field. The gridviews are loaded from the Page_Load event. When I click on the commandfield in the subgrid the Page_Load fires during the partial page postback. From what I have read this is normal with UpdatePanels. But What I don't understand is why both Page.IsPostBack and ScriptManager.GetCurrent(Page).IsInAsyncPostBack test false after I click on the command field in my grid. I need to stop the rebinding of the gridviews ( which causes the subgrid to collapse ) when the command field is clicked. Also: I am using MasterPages and the <asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server"> </asp:ScriptManager> is located in my mater page form section.Would anyone have any suggestions how to test if a partial page postback is occuringHere is a link to the page source: http://pastebin.org/153774here is a link to the code behind: http://pastebin.org/153781
I have a update panel on the ASPX page,When thepage loads the content in the update panel shouldnot load ( Update panel should show the Updatepanel progress control) but after page load update panel contents should load . How do i get this efect.
we are creating a custom content management and out portal page is bit bulky it is about 60Kb without images.
and during loading the page in some browser we can see some parts of site load faster than the other parts of the site where as we want to indicate (or instruct the web server) to load some of the areas first then load rest of the page.
is there any particular setting in IIS for is there any particular method in classic asp for doing that? also I have the same question in asp.net.
I'm developing my first Facebook application in ASP.NET 2.0 and doing a simplest thing, that is, to show a navigation on top with four hyperlinks where each link targets to another .aspx page. How can I do this using FBML in ASP.NET 2.0?
Otherwise coming to my question, where I'm struck after trying above thing at myself and failed then had to go around the Ajax way of doing this. Now I'm using Ajax call over the onclick event of each hyperlink from top navigation and it's succesfully loading external .aspx pages (for example,[URL]. The problem is when user comes on the application on first time, it only shows the .aspx page which has a navigation and a Ajax content place holder which is programmed to be filled with contents on click event.
How to load Ajax contents into the Ajax content place holder on page load without a click event?
I am using a third party gateway. The third party gateway does not support query-string , so i will need to post the form to pass the values to the given URL and another thing is that they don't expose the web-services so we need to use their page and that means we need to host it in an iframe in asp.net
so what i did is that i have hidden fields that will be used as parameters as depicted below
Now the purpose of this , is to load the iframe after the page load event of the asp.net gets fired.
Now my problem here is that when the iframe loads , it does not pass the parameters to the url that is being set in the iframe.
I have attached the example, project. (2kb)
When you run the project you will notice when the iframe loads there is an Error
"NO VCS ID"
now this means that the parameters were not passed when the Iframe loads , i can understand because it seems like iframe does not do a full form post. so to demonstrate what i want, click the proceed button and you will notice it will give you a page with no errors and it will be a page where credit card details are required , i want to iframe to load that the first time.
