Security :: IE 6 - Information Causing Partial Load Of The Page?
Mar 11, 2010
I have a website where different comapny and users can login. Till now I have not seen any issue on IE 6. But in case of one account, when try to login the website, users are getting security information "This page contains both secure and non-secure items.
I can reproduce the same easily for the same customer but not happening for any other customer. I have "ReportViewer" control (gets rendered as iframes) on the page.
In this scenario, whether user selectes "Yes" or "No" button, the home page with charts loads 30% and other controls remains invisible. Though I see same out in "View source" for this and other customers. We dont change anything much then the data and charts for the users. We use https for this website and has few links with "http" in page. But then this is same for all the users, but it happens only in case of one customer.
for obvious reasons using master page instead of iframes is good in my view but the current project which is on Framework 1.1 has some some limitations to do any modifications as client is already using some 3rd party controls. Now, the issue i am facing is with page load event which is firing twice. see the below html code.
from the above code when eFolderTree.aspx is called with iframe "TreeAppFrame", the "page load" event in eFolderTree.aspx.vb is firing twice. I debugged for the issue and found that this is happening because of iframe "primaryAppFrame" which is calling "SiteFolder/ShowSiteFolderTable.aspx?Site=<%=sSiteId%>". when commenting the page reference "ShowSiteFolderTable.aspx?Site=<%=sSiteId%>" in iframe "PrimaryAppFrame", this is working correctly. What else do i need to do, to make sure that page load event fires only once in page "eFolderTree.aspx.vb"

I have the above statement in the Page_Load sub on the masterpage. When I run "Start Debugging" from VS 2008 it works fine. However, when I publish the Web Site (on the same machine) and try to load the site from our internal network, the information is blank.
I'm trying to build an igoogle like interface and I can get it to work, but my data for the panels loads to slow which makes the complete page load way to slow. So I need a way to load the page and then start loading panels individually. I looked at update panels but they seem to only work when post back occurs. I need a way to load the page by piece from the first time the person comes to the site.
I have a list of items that loads when I call the page controller and I have an Ajax.BeginForm that calls the same (Index) Action. If the Action sees that it's an Ajax request (Request.IsAjaxRequest()) then it returns a partial view. I even have a div that contains a message about the results loading. That all works fine, but my results can sometimes take awhile and I'd like to hit the page first and then make the Ajax request so the user sees the page quickly and sees the "loading" message. I know I could click my filter button (triggering the ajax call) using jquery on document.ready, but is there a more MVC way to do this?
Currently the page load slow. I am thinking of using JQuery load and render List<A> and List<B> separately and asynchronously. Can I still use MVVM pattern? Or I had to create to controller methods returning List<A> and List<B> separately?]
I have put several buttons and panels in my update panel. I also have a script manager on that page. now when I click on any of the buttons then the functionality is working fine but problem is that the complete page gets reloaded witha a flick, instead of updating the update panel only. I have set the "children as trigger" property of update panel "true".
I have a modalpopupextender and I want to be able to update the information without causing a postback and having to re-show the modal, normally I use an updatepanel and this is working in most cases but I have an issue with a repeater where the ItemCommand has been set but clicking the button does not fire anything, unless I set the repeater as a trigger but this then does postback and I lose where I am. Not the usability I want to provide.
I was looking at using the Jquery request to call a second aspx page which either inserts or selects records from the database. My concern is the security of using Ajax. To pass information to the second page the Ajax request constructs a query string which is read from the second page. However, I don't know if I feel comfortable having the query string parameters so easily accessible. Especially if inserting records using Ajax anyone could follow the page being pointed to and then just load that into a new window with the query strings filled in.This would result in potentially a database attack adding many fake rows. Are there any security measures I can put in place to keep my Ajax secure or preferably hidden?
I have created user web control library project and these controls i'm using in my web application. These User controls just works fine in my local machine but when i moved this project(including Library) to our Local server , it is throwing security exception
Error 1 Cannot register assembly "LocalServerLibraryDemoLibraryDemoLibraryinDebugLibrary.dll". Request for the permission of type 'System.Web.AspNetHostingPermission, System, Version=188.8.131.52, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. Library
We are adding openfire fastpath chat to our site. It will determine and indicate when live chat is available or not and display an appropriate image to indicate the current status and links for each state.
Has anyone experience a similar issue or offer any tips for getting this to load synchronously somehow. I tried putting this into an aspx ajax panel, but that seemed to cause other issues.
how i would go about loading a page if a user is a memeber of the site, but if they are not redirect to the login page.I have created a site with multiple pages, but only a select few of these pages need to be viewed by memebers only. Could someone help or guide me in the right direction to read up on how to do it
After adding personalization and authentication to my site, I was getting pitched out of my application( which is on a hosted server), and sent back to the log in screen . I disabled authentication to see if I could figure out what was going on. I found that
I was getting a system error:
Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that <machineKey> configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster.
This error has been reported elsewhere [URL] so I made the following change to my web.config
This seems to have worked to a point, because with authentication DISABLED, I no longer get the error. But when I RE_ENABLE authentication, I get pitched out randomly back to the login screen. Time out is not an issue. It only happens when I move very quickly through screens that are doing a lot of postbacks.
This is the authentication stuff from my web.config
I am new to ASP.NET MVC, how to load partial page data again when calling different views?. I have divided my site.master page into two divs: Left Menu, and Right. When the first page load. Home/Index, it get the GetSourceList() from the Home Contoller and display the item as menu on left. The issue i'm having when I click on the item on the left, it display the data on the right but doesn't show the menu. I have a site.master reference in my list page.
I'm really new to MVC (just started a few weeks ago) and new to Ajax (never looked at it before today). I need some design / technical advice concerning Ajax, MVC, loading partial views, and posting / getting from a view. What I'd like to do it load a partial view that takes in a list of objects that have been queried from my db into an details-type view. The details view already has some other content that has been handeled and loaded from information pulled from my database and setup through some actions. It is strongly types to a model.
Below is the partial view I've created thus far:
And here's a portion of the Details page:
I'm not sure what to do for the Ajax.ActionLink. I'd like for a use to be able to type into the text box on it's left and hit "Add" (the Ajax link) and have the application add the content in the text box to the database. Should it be something else? An <input>? The Controller code piece is below:
So it should be adding the member into the repo / db and then reload the contents of the partialview. Instead, it's reloading the whole page and not just the partial view. (the url is changing from /project/details/5 to /project/membersection/).
I had a post here [URL] that I need to expand on now. I have a few web pages that need to check for a certain role on each page request. I have a custom Membership Provider and a custom Role Provider (called CustomRoleProvider - very original - I know) that I am using to do this. When a user logs in, the CustomRoleProvider.GetRolesForUser() method is called automatically (by the urlAuthorizationModule). When this method gets called, I am currently adding a role to the roles string array that allows/permits the user from viewing the web pages of concern based on certain qualifications that are determined elsewhere in the code (i.e. the database is queried to see if the user has rights to visit certain pages).
This approach only gets me half way because the user's roles are only checked once at login. When I wrote my previous post, I thought the CustomRoleProvider was broken because it wasn't calling the IsUserInRole() method on each page request. According to Microsoft, "The IsUserInRole method is called by the IsUserInRole method of the Roles class to determine whether the current logged-on user is associated with a role from the data source for the configured ApplicationName." (that information comes from this page:
[URL] Reading that description I thought it was being called automatically on each page request. This is not correct. What I need to know how to do is to get a method in the CustomRoleProvider that returns a boolean to be called automatically on each page request so I can update the user's roles if they change while the user is logged into the web site. For example, if the user has rights to visit page A and then five minutes later his rights are revoked, he can't visit page A again unless he contacts an admin to reset his rights.
I have a web page which is using PasswordRecovery control. Its working fine but I have a scenario in which I have to disable Viewstate for the whole application. Now after disabling viewstate when I visit the webpage I have noticed that PasswordRecovery controls is not working (Every times when I submit the default button to go to step 2, the postback occur but not moving to step 2).
