How To Accomplish Checkbox Field And The Exact Syntax To Be Used
Aug 1, 2010
n a grid view I have a column named REQUIRED which has a value of either 0 or 1.I added a checkbox templated field to show the above as checked or unchecked instead of0 or 1. I decoded the value Y or N to 1 or 1 in the sqldatasource
When I tried to add the following "Checked='<%# Eval("BOARD") %>' it does not like it and gives an error.How do accomplish the same for the above checkbox field and the exact syntax to be used
if there is anyway that I could duplicate controls in a asp.net pages. So for example, currently for one of my pages, I have a panel at the top of the page with alot of controls in them ( eg next/previous buttons, labels, trees, etc). However I wanted to add the exact duplicate of this panel on the bottom of the page aswell, with exact functionality.
I am using a GridView Control to display multiple fileds with 0's and 1's.
I am using template fields where CheckBoxes are used.
Where exactly and how do I apply the Logic to get a checked CheckBox when field Value=1 and unchecked CheckBox when field Value=2 .Also some times to be able to write a YES where fieldValue=1 or NO where filedValue=0
I have a listview (userid, users) and a checkbox. I would like to select the checkbox and store the userid in a textbox then into a session page. I am having issues with the code as it seems incorrect, due to the listview1.row.
I remember being told that you can add some syntax to the end of a statement that will do something if the field is null. Pretty vague, but I cant seem to find anything about it via google.
I definitely isnt how to set a field to be nullable. I know that.
Here is an example of what I want.
int? field1 = 0;
field1 = int.parse(string2); (where string2 is a passed value, that could be null)
I thought there was something you could put at ?? if it is a null, such as:
field1 = int.parse(string2) ??;
Or do I have to check every if every string2 is null before making that statement.
How can i use a checkbox to represent a boolean bit field in an MVC View? Out of the box, it defaults to a textbox..There is no boolean datatype in SQL Server 2008 so i used a bit datatype. I guess its a custom template but i cant seem to get the syntax right.
When I am using one of the default validation attributes, like [Requeried], and try to submit the form that is in an invalid state some 'magical' happens and the submit is canceled. I can even click 100x that not a single server request is made.On the other hand, I can't accomplish this behavior when I am using a custom validation attribute. Although my form was in an invalid state, a request is sent to the server anyway.I took a look at the "MicrosoftAjax.js" and "MicrosoftMvcValidation.js" but I am totally noob when it comes to Javascript.How can I accomplish the same behavior for both custom and default validations
I have a checkbox template field in a grid view control. I want to execute some code when a checkbox is checked or unchecked - how do I do this? Which event is fired?
I set a breakpoint on my httppost view and found that the value from a checkbox field was 'true,false" even though it was checked..how come it displays both values?
I created the create template using editorformodel(). The field using this checkbox is of bit datatype.
Need a way to write in c# something that we can query access database and send out individual emails using 3 seperate templates based on the users selection. basically users have been signing up to receive an email later in the year.. there are 3 possible email templates that are designed and will be sent based on what the user selected. So when the time comes, we need to take and query the access database and send an email to the user with the template they picked.
I see alot of software packages, but cost more than what we can spend(no budget), so we need something simple and free that can be scheduled to send on certain day and time. Or if there are any tutorials on creating something to do this, doesnt need to be fancy
I am using a treeview in a web part that I am writing. When the user moves the mouse over the +/- icon in the tree, a tooltip is shown: "Expand FolderName" or "Collapse FolderName". Because there is a requirement to localize this web part, I need to be able to set a localized tooltip, replacing the english one. (That english string appears, even when the machine is running a Chinese OS.)how to accomplish this localization?
Currently i have membership and roles setup on my site. Now what is my next step to get more specific control.
Based on what i hav now, i have my pages setup so they are visible or not and links not visible and so on. But now on a more detailed level, say im setup as a user. As a user my default permissions is just to view data.. no editing. But say someone was let go, now instead of granting me full access to everything, i need to be able to go in and provide more permissions to the account.
Example:
Admins: Add Users Modify Users Delete Users
Users: View Users Detail (only the person that is logged in)
Since the the user that was let go was an admin. They had all the other options, but as a temporary thing, we need to be able to add say permission "Add Users" to the individual user account.
To accomplish this type of control, what do i need to look at to accomplish such a setup?
I have a table "yyy" in my database with one boolean attribute. I made entity data model and then added a gridview and objectdatasource to my page. I configured select, update, delete methods there. No problems with select. Works fine. Problem comes with updating.
I'm having problem in inserting text from a textbox in which user write or copy some text which may contain special characters ( " , . ) etc. If there is any special character it get conflict with CommandText Syntax and generates error in inserting. I want to insert all these characters. How could i do it?
The select and show details do not meet my requirement, I need them on the page all together.Is there a simpler approach then datalist inside repeater?
The original Item Template was Enabled ="false" I changed this so that you did not have to set the row to a state of edit in order to just select a row. I enabled it so that you could "select" any row with out putting it in a state of edit. the only value changing is if its selected or not. What i am trying to do is use the Data Source Update method to update the bit in the database based on the check box. Currently Update() returns 0. I believe this is because the row/feild is not marked as changed so the Data Source does not see it as something that needs to be updated.
What I am hoping for out of this is post is a way that the rows whom check value has changed to be marked as changed/edited so that the data source will update the database with the values of the check boxes. If all rows are updated this is acceptable as well. I know this is a super simple solution but i have been out of the .NET for a little bit.
I have the following code for my radiobutton selectedindexchange, i have a hidden field in the gridview with the cid( which is the unique id for the records, the last column in the gridview is the radiobutton and i want to update my record with the value of that radiobutton.
For reporting we used report RDLCs and displayed using an ASPX form. We implemented using the route as shown below. This resulted in forcing us to use the page route below and also to use the hyperlink instead of the normal Action Link. The question is how do we convert the asp:hyperlink ASPX syntax to Razor syntax.
I'm trying to remove a GridView Row if the user has checked a checkbox in that
[Code]....
row (the checkbox is in a template field), but I'm unable to actually remove that row from the GridView. Here's what I have, I think I'm getting the row index incorrectly...
I've got a details view control on a page. One of the columns, from the database table, is a bit field. It is not nullable, and that's the way it has to be. Also, in most cases, when inserting data, it will be true (1) be default. I've found in testing, when inserting data, that it was false, for some reason. So, I changed the column to a template field and went to the InsertItemTemplate for that column, and changed the checkbox Checked property to True, instead of the default False. However, it has really screwed up the page because now it won't save anything at all! When I try saving something using the details view, it does show the checkbox as being checked, but man, once I try saving it I get an error message back from the database saying that the column doesn't allow for nulls.
Huh??? How in heck can the column on the page have a value (it is checked), but when it goes to save something it fails? Furthermore, before I converted this field to a template field, it worked perfectly. I tested several other insertions, and they all worked. But when I converted it to a template field, it stopped working? What's that about? I even tried setting the default value for the Checked property of the checkbox back to False, but that still doesn't work, it still wants to pass in a null. What's going on here? Why is it that converting a field to a template field, which was working perfectly fine before I made the convension, stop it from working at all?
have situation here. On checking checked checkbox inside template field on grid view. This my codethis code suppose to be update into mysql when checkbox of each row being checked. Mean only update database which row has being checked, other wise the data inside database not being updated.What happen now once button being click, code above will be executed, but all the data being update not considering the checked checkbox only.
This code works fine if i use this inside ssercontrol > panel and i have a checkboxes in table when no checkbox is checked its works fine .... but if i disabled and checked any of the textbox then this doesn't work .... in usercontrol why ? i didnt understand ..
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript"> function checkboxChecked(){ var allInputs = document.getElementsByTagName("input"); for(var i=0; i<allInputs.length; i++) { var chk = allInputs[i]; if(chk.type == "checkbox" && !chk.disabled && chk.checked) {
return true; } } alert("OOps! You haven't selected all available checkboxes"); return false; } </script>
