I don't want like this way. I have doubt.Can i design that forms? If yes how to add ADD Dialog screen. How to attach that forms. Kindly let me know. Becoz all installation pages have to design our wish.

This is getting me a little frustrated, and I looked around the net for the solution and was not able to find any as of yet.I'm trying to have Web Deployment projects in VS 2010. I have it installed for VS2008, but I was not able to find anything to install for VS 2010.I basically want to merge all outputs to a single assembly in 2010. How do I do that??

I am working on VS 2008 and 3.5 framework. I had three windows services. I placed all three in a single solution, created installer individually for each of them. Then created a setup project. When I build it says build failed . But I checked on the errorlist, (i enabled the diagnostics in options menu), but there was no error at all. I went ahead and installed. There were no issues, But there was no service showed up in the services.msc.
I installed each service individually , using installutil command, it showed up. But my requirement is to bundle these services and deploy to the client. The client should install it.

Our old site is in Classic ASP, and we know there are many people who have pages bookmarked. The new pages will be written in .Net.I thought of url rewriting (overkill?), but I'm not sure how to set that up (if this is the best way, I'll need some links to tutorials for using it in this specific manner. I've seen it used by never done it myself)What is the best, most efficient way setup some permanent redirects for these .asp to aspx pages?

I need to create a sample project (for educational purposes) and I'm faced with the choice between Web Site Projects or Web Application Projects. This feels similar to the choice between C# and VB. My question isn't about the differences between these 2 choices, but rather which is more popular (relevant, recognizable) to the general ASP.NET community.Has anyone seen any statistics in terms of adoption/usage of these 2 different project types? What project type should I use to reach the widest audience?Update: I created a poll on this subject - http://poll.fm/2e6cy

I have a multi-tiered application. I would like to publish the class libraries to UI developers to let them add to their web or windows projects to add all the functionality.
I would like to restrict access so only a certain project can be referenced. The reason is so that they do not refer to the data access layer directly and start making calls that would bypass the business logic built into the business tier.
UI->>Business Logic->>Data Access
So in other words, BL and DA are deployed as compiled assemblies. BL references DA. UI will reference BL, but I would like to strictly prevent any other project from referencing DA directly.

I would like to provide my client with a aspx pages, with code behind provided, etc. But in some cases they will want to write their own markup - I'm thinking of having 2 directories [siblings of each other], one for the pages I provide, and the other for their custom markup. At page serve time, check to see if the client wrote their own markup and if so use it. Otherwise use the default provided.
In a nutshell I would like for my clients to be able to modify the pages I provide, but if they blow it up have a very easy way to back it out. Or to put it in a more positive light, allow them to override my pages easily.

I don't know if this is a basic question or not as I'm brand new to master pages.
I am using VS2010 and an automatically generated asp.net (C#) website. It created the site.master for me which I then edited to give the look for my site.
For some reason I can't drag and drop controls from the toolbox onto each of my content pages. I know I can add them in code but they then don't get added to the designer.cs file and of course if I add them manually they'll get overwritten at the next build.
As I say, I don't know if this is normal behaviour or not but I need to know how to add controls to my automatically generated ContentPlaceHolder with it's associated aspx file with Content tags.

I'm having trouble setting up a custom NEW User Screen. Here is my situation, I have a Request for Access Screen that uses the CreateNewUser Wizard Control. I want to leave the Question and Answer for this, however I also want a custom NEW User Setup which I build myself to allow the system administrators to setup users, but for this setup I don't want the administrators to have to pick the question and answer for the NEW user, so I would like to bypass this for this setup. However, my Membership.CreateUser keeps asking for it. How can I accomplish this? I've included a copy of my current web.config file. You will notice a AspNetAdminMemberhip which I use to allow the System Administrators to reset passwords.
