How To Dynamically Add Update Parameter Value To Sqldatasource In GridView From RowCommand Event

I have two image buttons in a gridview, one to approve the opening of the record and one to approve the closing of the record. I have added a CommandName to each button (OpenApproved and CloseApproved) and in the grids rowcommand I would like to update the database with the Username of the person clicking the button, Username goes into either the OpenLeadApprover or CloseLeadApprover field depending on which button is pressed. The grid has a sqldatasource with an Update stored procedure which has three parameters, @WorkOrderIDWhat I have tried to do in the RoeCommand event is declare a variable for the sqldatasource and add the parameter value to it, then run the update command. I have gridview+sqldatasource. In gridview i have button DELETE. But i want on click this button for some rows execute DELETE command other rows UPDATE. I did:

But DELETE works and DELETEVIRTUAL doesn't. Then i insert sourceMain.Delete() in rowcommand after sourceMain.DeleteCommand ... But it's doesn't help me.

I am getting error as Procedure 'storedproc2' expects parameter '@NewMessage', which was not supplied.Basically in this I am taking the text in one cell and add sometext to it and update in the next cell of the row.

I have one button and gridview.
The button is located at the outside of gridview.
By clicking the button, I want to trigger the RowCommand event in that grid.
Obviously, I know that I can create same function to run it in that button to achieve samething in the RowCommand event.
However, I would like to know that techinically, I can simply trigger the RowCommand event from outside of GridView.

i am using a grid view . i have added a linkbutton in cell[0]. when clicking on this butoon the below event is working.. actually i tried to get the cell[1].text... but not getting any cell values except cell[0].text... get the cell[1].text value.

I have two gridviews tied to a SQL backend both being displayed within an update panel. Both the gridviews have a linkbutton connected to a rowcommand. When clicking on one of the rowcommand link buttons, the database is updated and the update panel is refreshed (moving the record to be displayed in the other gridview in the panel). However, when the rowcommand from the other gridview is clicked, the code is run and the database is updated, but the update panel is NOT refreshed.I have debugged it and have found that the code is running as expected. It fires off the function and updates the database. If I click away from the page and then go back, it does show the data in the proper gridviews, so I know that the code is working.

I have a treeview on the left panel and the gridview in the content page. Both the treeview and the gridview bind to the same datasource and have the same functionality. For instance, clicking employer in the treeview and clicking the employer link in the gridview take you to the same page. All I want is when I click the employer link in the gridview, I want the gridview row command event to call the selectednodechanged event of the treeview, so that the treenode for employer has the selected node style and performs the function of hte selectednodechanged. i have tried treeview.nodes[0].select but this does not fire the selectednodechanged event.

What I am wanting to do is add a "search" function to restrict the rows returned to a user entered name. I am trying to get a parameter for my update from the gridview but it is an ID column that I do not want displayed. If I display the data in a boundfield it works fine but if I set the visibility to false the parameter is no longer sent to the update stored procedure. There does not appear to be a hiddenfield column that I can put into the gridview.I have tried to set the parameters through the code behind but I am not certain on how to access the data I want the following code does not work (It sets the parameter to nothing
