How To Edit Images Using JavaScript In Real Time And Save The Edited Image On The Server
Jul 10, 2010
Is it possible to edit images using a javascript library and then send the edited image to the server for saving.
Edits will be in real time, means the user can see the edit result in the same time he is editing without the need to refresh the page.
I want a javascript library to do some edits on an image on a webpage 'such as crop, resize, rotate,...' and send send the edited result to the server.
using the latest bits for MVC 3 i'm looking at the code for a Controller (Northwind products), specifically my 'Edit'Action.
there are two methods, one for diplaying the item to edit, and one for posting back changes made on the UI.
My question is : how do i get a reference to the currently edited product. The method takes 2 arguments; the id of the product and a formcollection which is a dictionarly of product proerties by the looks of it. mvc 2 had slightly differentt arguments compared to mvc 3 beta.
I need to build a system which needs to show data on almost near real time basis from a MSMQ data source and this sould be showin in image with a circle as to where the incident occurs.
This is the description given.
The position of the Incident relative to the 123 mark is requested to be represented on a circular concentration diagram .
The algorithm will have to export the location of each incident relative to the 123 mark in polar coordinates (r,θ) and translate this position to the 'master image' coordinate system that will display Incident location.
I have two questions.
1. How can i show the data in an Image and also please point me to any material which might help me with the same.
2. How do i show almost real time data from a MSMQ data source and also how do i architect the same for performance.
I want to make a real time form validation in asp.net form in which when i lost focus a field it show an error or success of field entrance data i search for best way to do that .. and if i want to do the same by validating data from SQL Database ... what's the best choice for doing that ?
I want to display an image, be-able to drag small images on to the large image and then save the new image. Image having a photo as an image and wanting to put number blobs on and each number blob refers to a piece of text almost like labelling photo. I know how to drag and drop images using jquery but not sure how I would save the thing as a new image.
How to save the drawing (contents) on a panel as an image using C# and asp.net.I found Panel1.DrawToBitmap but its not working in the asp.net ,is there any assembly i am missing or the function is altogether different?
Let's say I am creating a image hosting website. My potential users will be somewhere around 1 Million, and every user potential has 10,000 images, and I need to serve over 1000 images per second.
So, I bought a diskarray, with 10T storage, SAS 15K SCSI drives.
The problem is: What is the best way to save those files on disk? How to organize the folder structure to make sure NTFS can find one file from a billion files under a huge tree folder quickly? I mean, serve 1000 images per second is non trivial issue. My current website is serving over 100 images per second, and I already see the performance problem: NTFS can't find the file fast enough! And of course, my folder structure is not good enough either.
I have an ASPxGridView shown to the user with an edit command button. When the user clicks the edit command button the selected row will change into the edit form.In the edit form I have a control which when clicked will do a custom callback through javascript, the custom callback handler will then change a value on the selected row and call UpdateEdit() to save the changed value and return to the regular grid view layout.
However the new value is never saved to the underlying datasource, in fact if I debug the DataSourceControl's ExecuteUpdate method I see the updated value in the oldValues collection and the values collection has the original value. The javascript that is called from the control in the editform:
javascript:grid.PerformCallback("CloseOrder");
The custom callback handler which runs on the server:
protected void gdOrders_CustomCallback(object sender, ASPxGridViewCustomCallbackEventArgs e) { if (e.Parameters == "CloseOrder") { var row = gdOrders.GetDataRow(gdOrders.EditingRowVisibleIndex);[code]...
Given a Database that has a table Called [Bid Transactions], which contains records of all available auctions that are currently running on an ASP.net website .. something similar to Ebay.com, when the deadline of the auction passed, I should close that auction, Send a notification message to both the item owner and the bidding winner to inform them.
how should I keep track of all open auctions? how could I monitor all their ending time and update the Auction status to be "Closed" on Real-time basis? ..
(1) Using SQL jobs ? .. that should reduce system performance .. shouldn't it ?
(2) A back-end service that is running on the server and uses Threading ? .. I have no clear background about that solution.
I have a project that needs to generate a random collection of images on an html page. Everything works fine until around the 50th image is generated and then I just get a red X.
Am I hitting some connection limit or server resource limit?
The code below exhibits the behavior on several different machines. I am using Visual Studio 2010 and Internet Explorer.

I have a dinamically gridview, populated according with the SQL sintaxe from the user, with a TextBox. I enable in the gridview an Edit button, and the rowEdit works well when fired. But my problem is Update button. How to save the record edited, in a dinamically gridview, when I can't programatically set the fields to be saved? Ie, I need to iterating with all fields in the gridview edited record and update. How to do this?
I have been debating back and forth between using a database or the file server to store images for users. Finally when I decided to use the file server I found it difficult. What I am trying to do is give a user the option to save multiple profile pictures. I have looked all over for tutorials on how to save to the file server but could find nothing related. Essentially what I would like to do is create folders for each user and their images. I am having no luck. Does anyone have example code or links to what I am looking for?
i have implemented an image preloader using javascript inside my mvc 2 web app, in order to display an animated "loading" image .gif while sequentially displaying page images.I have also implemented caching using a cache profile for the controller action that displays the specific page ([OutputCache(CacheProfile = "LongCache")]).The problem is that the image preloader javascript is called when caching is applied. I was wondering whether i could, somehow, use the image preloader code only when the page gets refreshed and not when the cached version is rendered.
I am using ListView for the first time. I have a requirement that in a listview if I Edit a record and before clicking teh Edit button of tthis record if i click on the "Edit" button in other record, my first record should be saved and second record should open in Edit mode.
I made a progress bar for uploading by using web services and javascript. But I got a problem. It is ever late web services than file save function. Thous, the information is not real in client side. How can I do?
I need to add a "real-time" element to my web application. Basically, I need to detect "changes" which are stored in a SQL Server table, and update various parts of the UI when a change has occured. I'm currently doing this by polling. I send an ajax request to the server every 3 seconds asking for any new changes - these are then returned and processed.
It works, but I don't like it - it means that for each browser I'll be issuing these requests frequently, and the server will always be busy processing them. In short, it doesn't scale well. Is there any clever alternative that avoids polling overhead?
