How To Get The Setup Wizard To Stop Downloading Client Profile
Aug 10, 2010
I have a web application which is entirely .net 3.5. I have created a Setup project using the wizard making sure that I selected 3.5 from the targeted famework.
When I have built the setup.exe and the Windows Installer Package and I have tried to install it on a test machine it prompts straight away to download and install the .net framework 4 client profile first.
The end-user doesn't want to upgrade their servers at this time to the latest version of .net.

I am using Wizard control for password recovery. at first step I am checking the UserName with chkUserName(UserName.Text) function if UserName presents, the function will return the User Id and will navigate to next step, if UserName is wrong the function will return 0 and should not navigate to next step, but should stop at index 0 i.e. at the same step.
I have tried some solutions but it is navigating to next step in both the conditions.
in aspx the code is like:

I have two user controls and both the user controls refer a same script path:
<script type="text/javascript" src="test.js"></script>
then what happens when the first user controls load then test.js will download in client and when second user control loads then test.js file will download again.
How do I check to see if the JavaScript file is already downloaded so it doesn't have to be downloaded again?
If I include the JavaScript file from the server side:
Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptInclude("test",
Page.ClientScript.GetWebResourceUrl(this.GetType(),
"test.js"));
then how could I make sure it isn't included twice?

i have two projects A + B,
A is VS2010 and "FrameWork4.0 Client Profile",
B is VS2010 also but only "FrameWork4.0",
when i build project A, the references lost !!! is there a way to keep A as the same Framework version "4.0 Client Profile" and also keep the references for B not to be lost?
this is because i should keep the Framework version to stay "4.0 Client Profile".

I'm using Wizard control to collect some information. I have Repeater control in my Wizard control. when client inputs information and clicks next button he gets to next WizardStep, thou from next step when client clicks previous button and navigates to previous step Repeater control's input fields are empty. How can I store client input so when he will navigate back he could see previously added information. I don't want to use any client or server side session management techniques, because I think viewstate is enough. I think my problem is I don't bind Repeater control in a right place, besides, all the controls inside my Repeater control are loading dynamically.

I'm having trouble setting up a custom NEW User Screen. Here is my situation, I have a Request for Access Screen that uses the CreateNewUser Wizard Control. I want to leave the Question and Answer for this, however I also want a custom NEW User Setup which I build myself to allow the system administrators to setup users, but for this setup I don't want the administrators to have to pick the question and answer for the NEW user, so I would like to bypass this for this setup. However, my Membership.CreateUser keeps asking for it. How can I accomplish this? I've included a copy of my current web.config file. You will notice a AspNetAdminMemberhip which I use to allow the System Administrators to reset passwords.

I have a web setup package project alongside an old .asmx web service. When I build it I only get 'MyService.msi' and not the 'Setup.exe' in the 'Release' folder after build. Normally the .msi suffices for installation, but on Windows Server 2008 R2 I am getting denied from installing the .msi pacakge. I can only install .exe packages after right clicking and stating "Install as Administrator".
The server admin is still new to 2008 R2 and not sure why I can't install an .msi because I am an admin, so for now if I knew how to get that web setup package to generate the Setup.exe file as well I see my other VS.NET setup packages create.

I got the followig task.Create a website (Profile.aspx) in which the User can create and edit his profile.Well, I know how to write in a database, but how do I get the UserName oder the UserID to make a PrimaryKey?If the user is logged in a session will be started. In this session is the UserName but I don't know how to read out the UserName with ASP.NET to make an PrimaryKey. If I would try to read out the UserName with C# I must save it in an variable and give it somehow to my form.

I am working on a http based (NOT Secure) Web Application. In this, I have provided a provision to add some appointment to the Client's outlook calendar. I am creating the .vcs file dynamically when clicked on a hyperlink. The code of generating .VCS file is:
string calendarFormat = GetVCSFormat();
Response.ContentType = "text/calendar";
Response.AppendHeader("content-disposition", "attachment; filename=MyCalendar.vcs");
Response.Write(calendarFormat);
Response.End();
It is working fine in all browsers except IE. It is giving me following error:Internet Explorer cannot download GenerateAppointment.aspx from server. Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found.

I'm new to this forum, infact this is the first forum i hav ever joined. I need some help urgently as i'm reaching the deadline of my project.I created an asp.net website, where administrator will upload files to SQL database which is connected to the webpage. From the web page there will be a download link to download those uploaded files. I have been successful in uploading files to the database. But nothing is striking in my mind regarding how to download files directly from database using asp.net C#.

My code can be found here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3604864/c-asp-net-ftp-error I am trying to download a file from an FTP server when I try to download it it says I do not have access I have been googling this all morning and have not had any luck. I went to the designated folder and added Everyone with full permissions hoping I was missing a user and that did not work. I tried giving full permissions to myself, Anonymous user, network service, and a few other users that I have found. I have tried using
<identity impersonate="true" /> and
<identity impersonate="true" userName="myfullusername" password="mypassword"/>
I am still not having any luck the full error I get is:
