Security :: Page Redirect When User Login?
I got a role call "Staff", staffregistration is done by admin so when creating a new staff only need their name, user name, password and e-mail. After registering, i wan to redirect the staff to the creating profile page to input their contact number and self-description which is a must for later use. For first time login staff, how do i compareand see ifthe contact and description profile is empty or not? If it is empty, then redirect to the create profile page, else just go to staff page.

I trying to do like making each different role redirect to their own page once they had login. For now when the user login they will remain in the same page showing the login template. How do i do that?

C# - Programmatically Login To A Website And Redirect The User To The Logged In Page?
Right now, I have all the employees of my company login to an external website using the company id, username and a password. We are trying to integrate it into an intranet portal which should provide seamless access to this website without requiring the user to enter these credentials.

Is there any way of doing this programmatically (.NET C#)? Very similar to screenscraping, Can I simulate the appropriate POST action and then redirect the user to the logged in page?

How To Redirect A User To A Member Only Web Page After The Login Page
I am trying to redirect a user to a member only web page after the login page.
I have the following web forms.
LoginForm.aspx
PublicForm.aspx (anyone can see)
SecureForm.aspx (members only)
In the Web.config, I included

Code:

<authentication mode="Forms">
<forms name="Login"
loginUrl="LoginForm.aspx"
protection="All"
slidingExpiration="true"
path="/">
</forms>
</authentication>
<authorization>
<deny users="*"/>
</authorization>
<location path="PublicForm.aspx">
<system.web>
<authorization>
<allow users="?"/>
</authorization>
</system.web>
</location>
<location path="SecureForm.aspx">
<system.web>
<authorization>
<deny users="guest"/>
<allow users="member"/>
</authorization>
</system.web>
</location>
</authorization>
For the Login button in the LoginForm.aspx, I used this

Code:

FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage(txtID.Text.Trim, False)
This code directs me to the Default.aspx which has nothing in it.
I will have a 404 if I take out the Default.aspx.

I have also modified the web.config file and add a custom error "<error statusCode="403" redirect="~/Error/NoAccess" />" node.

Each time i enter to an anauthorized page, i get redirected to the logon page (even though i am already logged on). I would to modify the default asp.net mvc authorization functionality and each time a user tries to enter a page that is not authorized to get an "NoAccess" page instead of redirecting to the login page.

Security :: Redirect User After Login?
Ok, I have been trying with this for many days now and read countless posts on this subject but I still cannot get it working.

I have created 2 roles and membershipsone for admin and one for users, as you can guess I want to direct admins to a admin page and users to a user page. When a user logs on, it works fine, whether it's an admin or user, but they both present the home page, default.aspx

I know you have to have a redirecturl, to direct the user to the relevant page, either admin or user, but where and which webconfig would you put this in? I have seen in some post that you need a protected void or a role line in a webconfig file, but I have tried both these and countless other bits of code in different webconfig files. Before you ask about validation, I know this works as the user can log in, but just wont go to the relevant page.

Directorty structue Ihave is as follows:

Account folder contains - ChangePassword.aspx, ChangePasswordSuccess.aspx, Login.aspx, Register.aspx, Web.config

Webconfig contains

[Code]....

Admin folder contains - default.aspx, Web.config

webconfig contains

[Code]....

Registeredfolder contains - default.aspx, Web.config

webconfig contains

[Code]....

MVC :: Redirect User Depending On Role After Login?
I'm really new to the .NET and especially the MVC framework.

I have setup a database and used the reg_sql command to put the aspnet tables into it, I have also
created 2 users and given each of those users a role (administrator and client). I have two questions:

When a user registers using the default registration controller & view how can change it so that the user gets putinto a default role that I have created ("client")?

Also, when a user clicks the "login" button I want them to be redirected depending on their role, at the moment the user just gets thrown back to the Index page (if there is no redirectURL).

State Management :: Redirect Page To Login Page On Logout?
In logout link's click event i have written Session.Abandon() that will destroy the Session state.I am also handling Session_End event that is fired afterward (written in Global.asax). But one more thing i want is that after Session ends, login page should be redirected (opened).

For that i wrote:

[Code]....

This is working fine on the surface, butafter applying debugging i saw that there were unexpected number of calls to Session_Start and Session_End events for two times, then login page was opened.

Why Session_Start and Session_End was called two times ? If i left this process as it is working then may i get some serious error in future ?

MVC Authentication Redirect To Login Page With Area
In an asp.net mvc website, the site has enable forms authentication. The form login page is located in an area such as:

Area: Area1, Controller: Account, Action: Login

When a user is not yet authenticated and click on a link that requires authentication, the user is redirected to the login page. This does occur and redirect to the login page specify above. However during debug, it was found the area value is not included in the RouteData.Values object. That is, the RouteData.Values object has ONLY the follow value:

Controller: Account
Action: Login

In this case, it is presumed that the MVC application by default searches for the appropriate controller and action without consideration for including the area value. On contrast when I direct click on a link that directs to login page, all processing occurs as expected, i.e. the area value is included in the RouteData.Values object. Is there a work around for this?
