How To Toggle Visibility Of Combobox With Javascript Or Jquery
Feb 28, 2011
I have a set of server side combo boxes in a table. Based on client events, I need them to appear or disappear. I've tried the following with no success:
I have a web page where a div needs to be displayed under certain conditions. I'm using the following code to toggle the display and have verified that it works.
[Code]....
To call this javascript function, I'm using the following code in the code-behind for the page:
[Code]....
I traced the flow using the debugger. When the page load, txt_Cat_ID.Text = "2" correctly resolves to FALSE and the toggleOptionsDiv script is run with the 'hide' parameter. The page correctly hides the div.
When I click on the link that makes txt_CAT_ID.Text = "2" resolve to TRUE, the code executes the line where the toggleOptionsDiv script is run with the 'show' parameter. However, the div remains hidden.
The link that is clicked triggers an asynchronous post back and I'm not sure if that is the problem. How can I get the div to display on postback?
I have a tablix with subtotals at each level in the header and footer of each group. I know how to toggle the header textback to Hidden when expanding that group, but it then leaves a jagged appearance to he whole report. If I leave it the way it is, I have subtotals in both the header and the footer. What I'd like to do is to blank out the subtotal text in the header when expanded so only the footer is showing the subtotal, thereby retaining the header's textbox's color, borders, etc. and generally eliminating the jagged-looking right edge of the tablix.
I've tried accessing the Hidden property of the matching footer subtotal without success. I've even tried counting rows in the text-color expression of the header, but to no avail. Does anybody have any ideas on how to toggle the subtotal text in the header without creating a gaping empty space in that cell? I'd like to write something like,
=iif(ReportItems!sumFtrCustomerHours.Hidden,Sum(Fields!Hours.Value), "") but ReportItems only have one one property - Value.
One task that I would like to make a lot easier, is to be able to toggle a control's visibility to off/false if a particular database field is null. Is there an expression I can put in the visibility='<%# %>' part of my code that could handle this?
I want to toggle a Textbox to be visible (true, false) contained within an InsertItemTemplate based on the data being Null/Empty.
It Works in the Item Template since it is calling the "select parameters", but once it is in the "insert parameters" on databinds, I am unable to get this to work.
I haven't been able to find it if there is. Note - my issue is with a background-color, not a background image. Anyway, after having spent most of an entire day trying to fix this problem & unsuccessfully sourcing help on the web I thought now that I've managed to resolve my issue I'd post my solution here to keep someone from suffering the same headache.
Basically in my asp.net solution I have a div which has a mouseover class toggle bound to it. Within that div I have several divs which contain HtmlAnchors & Images (<div><a><img /></a><div>). These divs also have a class toggle bound to them. So, herein lies the issue:
[Code]....
when skipping between the .Div2s, '.Div1' would suffer from a flicker which looked terrible. (This only happened in internet explorer!) The fix I finally came up with was to set a timeout on the class-toggle of .Div1
[Code]....
This works for me in ie6-8! Phew! Time to get away from my computer.
I wrote below code for Collapse/Expand some section. It is working fine. Finally If I click "Save" button and I am re-loading page again in asp.net. So then sections are going default Colleapse again. I need them back to expand. How can I do that?
I am working in visual web developer and I have a code behind as well as a html documenet that contains some javscript. The hole thing is getting pretty big and I use collapsable outlining for the html stuff. But I don't see any options to collapse the javascript functions for better visibility.
Is there a way to get outlining for the javascript in visual web developer? Or how do people usually develope javascript inline with html (with attached aspx codebehind files)?
lets say you have the toggle buttons from this page: [URL]
and you put it in a UpdatePanel AJAX... so lets say on a partialpostback.. when you re-create teh controls on server-side, the state of whether or not those buttons were pushed is long-lost and gone.. so how then how do you remember those states?
Can I save each button state into viewstate or session state? regenerate each button then call the javascript function to change its color-state depending on the session state variable?
I would like to be able to toggle all checkboxes in a tablerow base upon the value of the first checkbox. If a user clicks on the checkbox at the beginning of the tablerow all other checkboxes in that same row need to get the same value.
I have a div called address which as a textarea. When I click a hyperlink, it toggles the div up and down. After clicking a an asp.net button the div collapses which is fine, but I noticed the url turns from [URL] to [URL] and now the toggle does not work. Here is the script:
I've got a rather difficult one here. I have a JavaScript jquery toggle button inside an update panel. Right now i'm using <form body="onload"> to recall this javascript to re-apply the button state after each partial postback. It works, but it requires two clicks sometimes.
The problem is... after a few clicks, it is significantly slowing down the PC, and I can see the clicks trailing half a second to nearly a second. If I have a group of buttons, all those click events are just catching up to my clicks. It is rather amusing but I suppose it has to do with the fact that the postback is calling the <body onload=" event> each time after the button is clicked.
I have a datalist bound to a sql source having two columns: Name and Description. The datalist contains a "Show Description" link as follows on clicking on which it calls the javascript which shows the description div.
[Code]....
The asp.net page source for itemtemplate of the datalist is as follows.The problem is that since the div id "Description" is applicable to multiple records, no matter I click on whichever "show details" link, the description of first record in the datalist is shwon and hidden since its the first div encountred by the javascript. In other words, I want a way to show/hide the description of each record in datalist indivigdually. [Code]....
I can control the visibility of these columns at the server side by using this -
grdTest.Columns[n].Visible = false;
But, I have to control the visibility from the client side using javascript. I tried a lot but I was only able to access either the row object or any particular cell of the gridview.
I have a javascript to enable text boxes when called, I want to trigger this code when a user picks value "Custom" from a dropdownlist, so that I can display/Hide these new textboxes.
function setVisibility(DropDownListID) { var element = document.getElementById(DropDownListID); var element1 = document.getElementById("TestBox1"); if (element.value == "Custom") { element1.visible = !element1.visible ; } <asp:DropDownList ID="DateRangeDropDownList" runat="server" Enabled="True" onChange="setVisibility('DateRangeDropDownList');"> <asp:ListItem>Some Value</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem>Custom</asp:ListItem> </asp:DropDownList> <asp:TextBox ID="TestBox1" runat="server"></asp:TextBox>
I was just after some help to put the following code into a loop. I have 6 div's with id's ImgDetails1 - ImgDetails6 and 6 buttons with id's 1 - 6
if 1 is pushed it should hide the other divs but ensure div1 is shown. the same applies for every other div.
I can do this the long way writing logic for each div but I am not the best with js and have failed at each attempt to put the code in a 1 - 6 loop to hide all divs except the one selected and make sure that is shown.
f anyone else had tried putting a ajax control tookit combobox inside a jQuery dialog div/panel? If I do a postback on a page with this dialog I get an error 'Microsoft JScript runtime error:
Sys.InvalidOperationException: Handler was not added through the Sys.UI.DomEvent.addHandler method.' If I continue I get and error and this stack trace;
[NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.] AjaxControlToolkit.ComboBox.LoadPostData(String postDataKey, NameValueCollection postCollection) in d:hgactServerAjaxControlToolkitComboBoxComboBox.cs:681
If I use a standard DropDownList there is no problem. I will stick to the standard control for now but I would prefer to use the toolkit combobox.
I need to manipulate the combobox (from AJAX3.0) in ASP.NET through javascript. The webpage is simple. There is one dropdownlist and one combobox. When the selection of the dropdownlist changes, I need to change the combobox accordingly, may remove a few items or add new items. Right now, I know how to add items into combobox using javascript from the topic:[URL] And I need to how to remove one of the item from the combobox according to a text or just clear all items.
So the code below is called when a user selects Save on an ExtJS popup modal window. This window ONLY contains a combobox. Now, sometimes when a user saves this, and then re-opens it later on, the combobox will appear BEHIND the window all grayed out, unable to get to. Other times, it will be fine and work, and no difference in events happening either time, just complete utter inconsistency.Does anyone know what this could be?
var changeProductOK = function() { var win = getChangeProductWindow(); if (win.subProductId.getValue() == '') {
I am using a ComboBox from the ASP.NET AJAX Toolkit (version for .NET 3.5) with values populated into its DataSource property.If I use my mouse to drop the combobox down and select a value, then highlight the value and click backspace, I get an error: Microsoft JScript runtime error: '_optionListItems[...].text' is null or not an objectMy DropDownStyle is set to "DropDown" so I should be able to have text in the control that does not exactly match one of the items in it. Therefore, I do not understand why I get this error. It seems to work perfectly otherwise.
