View 1 RepliesIf I develop a Windows User Control and host it inside an aspx web form, does the user's machine accessing the aspx page needs .NET Framework?
Does the Windows User Control hosted inside an aspx or web form requires any downloading of the control similar to an ActiveX control? Or Is it rendered like a HTML page?
I have a login page and a dashboard page. Now user first login and then redirect to dashboard page. User press browser Back navigate button and now it's again on login page.
View 1 RepliesI am using a server control on a single web.forms page. I have to use this control on a web.forms page since its a server control, although this is actually a MVC project. So I created a web.forms folder and put my new page in it. I then copy the example code from the signature control. I get the following error:
The base class includes the field 'ctrlSign', but its type (WebSignatureCapture.SignatureControl) is not compatible with the type of control (ASP.signaturecapture_signaturecontrol_ctlsignature_ascx).
I know the code works because if I removed the ID attribute from the server control, it no longer gives me this error and my control renders. But I need the attribute for the ID so I can perform is post event
I am using this signature control. Here's the web.forms code...
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="Index.aspx.cs" Inherits="KahunaCentralTIDRevamp.SignatureCapture.Index" %> [code]....
I have a requirement for generating dynamic controls and store the value in database in a mvc project ,how to make it.
View 1 RepliesI have a ObjectDataSource and a ListView referencing it.
I have created a Templated User Control (see:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/36574bf6.aspx) and placed it in the ListView's InsertItemTemplate
It has one template <ContentTemplate>. Inside that template, I've defined a couple of server controls with their properties = '<%# Bind("colName") #>'.

View 7 RepliesI have an ASP.NET 4.0 application with some simple user controls. The user controls work fine on the design surface (VS.NET 2010), but when they're loaded during application execution, nothing shows up.
Futhermore, the various child controls of the user controls are null when referenced inside the code behind for the user control.
The code behind for the user control executes as expected, but any reference to child controls are null.
It's like ASP.NET is never parsing the ASCX to create the instances of the child controls.
I have DefaultPage with MasterPage, two web user controls A.ascx and B.ascx. A.ascx is nesting B.ascx
I created folder App_LocalResources and added there two files: B.ascx.resx and B.ascx.xx-XX.resx.
Each resoource file has lblText.Text item.
B.ascx has a label:

i created an asp table in the markup view and inside the table row/cells i insert controls too.
it works fine.
when i go to the design view i and i point the table , i can't get to the controls inside the table,
how do i focus on the controls inside the table in the designer view?
I need to create a repeat region area where I display the Area as a heading and then listing the cities within that area.
I can achieve this using a gridview and nesting one inside another using this tutorial: [URL]
But I really need the ability to customize the page that only a Listview offers. So does anybody know of a good tutorial to do this?
Note I'm Using MS Access for the datasource of both City and Area tables.
how do i use the dropdownlist in the Gridview.here is my requirement: i want to place one Drop down list in Grid view, when ever Gridview loads that dropdown must be fill.
View 10 Repliesthe design requirement is like, when we click on a item in grid view a pop up window has to be generated where a particular user can enter details and save them and then again minimise the window..the changes entered in the window has to be saved in db..is there any possiilty to do this kind in grid view control ??

I am having a list view in the page and one button outside the listview.
Listview is consisting of a usercontrol which is text box.
i want to find textbox usercontrol in the button click event.
I need to disable the "Imagebuttons" after the user click on one of them... I've sucessfully updated the table when the user click on a button using the following code on the event of row command of the gridview..
[Code]....
so please how may I disable these buttons after database is updated ?
i wants to have grouping with my grid view. in which there is category and subcategory according to that category.
i wants to display sub category subtotal at the end of each sub category group and category total at the of category group.
I need to open/view a file in gridview.... I successfully uploaded the file to a directory on the server, and added a filename field in a table....
I can view the table data row by row, but now want to click on the file or SELECT in that row - and that click event must open the file for me....
I have to access the parent form's controls inside an event handler method on my user control's code behind.
View 4 Repliesi have a drop down list and a text box, inside a listview row (and this is a repeating layout). i populate each dropdownlist with same contents ( these contents/items come from a custom collection object).
i have added a required field validator in the listview's item template, that has its validation group = the validation group of the drop down list, and validates if the textbox is blank or not. this validation takes place on the selected index changed of the drop downlist for that row.
1. on selected index changed, EACH dropdownlist validates only its corressponding textbox perfectly (which is what i want)
but if i enter some text in one of the textboxes after doing 1, the dropdownlist for THAT particular row, assigns the correct value to the text entered. but for other rows (for which i changed their corresponding ddls to test the required field validation and for which the text boxes are still blank), their ddls by itself assign the values to the blank text without validating.
markup of code for listview is [Code]....
code behind for the ddl selected index changed is [Code]....
method GetIndexFromId retrieves index of the custom object inside a collection depending on the Id (which is a property) of the object.
i notice that the ddl selectedindexchanged is being hit as many number of times as many rows i change (i.e as many ddls in different rows i change to check the required field validation)
i am using the multiview control inside a page and i am trying to find a control using the javascript function document.getElementById. My Problem is that the function returns null cause it cannot find the control. When i open the code of the page from the browser the active view is not rendered so I think thats the reason why I am getting a null value from the function.
On the HTML code is rendered only the first view or the view that is activated on page load.
Is there any way to find a control inside the view using javascript? or I am doing something wrong?
Is it possible to use ajax controls (as it is) inside a user control?
