I have tried with your pice of code(Published date : sep 16, 2012) to send multiple attachments in asp.net. On my local machine it is working perfectly. When I host my application on server, mail contains attachment(Single or multiple both) is not sending. Attachment and remove files for attachments are working properly but attachment mail is not sending on server.

View 1 RepliesI have a hosted site and just added some additional error notification to my global.asax file and works like a charm. I decided to add the same logic to our test server and it doesnt work. The server.transfer never happens and the email never gets updated. Now i know the email works on the test and production server since we have other pages that use the same SMTP server name and setup as i have in the global file. Below is my code as it is in the file now. I setup a test page to cause an error and the page displays the detailed error which we dont want. But i would like to be notified if this happens. What am i missing? I can only assume that its a IIS confige issue, since the exact same code works on a hosted site, but not at work on our test or production servers. I have multiple sites hosted at a hosting company that does not support domain pointing. Right now I have all of my domains go to the root directory and Response.Redirect() to a sub-directory which leaves me with mydomain.com/subdir/. Is there a way to make my own pointer to eliminate the /subdir/ portion of the URL?
View 1 RepliesI have a form where a user asks for a quote and we need to send an attached application form. all this worked in the dev environment but when I post the changes onto our hosted server (third party ISP) I get an error when the attachment is added. I have tired to use URL's but that does not work, at the moment I am using a relative path, but have also tried to place the file in the forms page folder.
Here is my attachment code:

1. What could be the issue:
Server is not capable? I have checked the ping and it response time is 153 ms for each require on live ip but on local ip it gives < 1 ms response time.

I have a strange problem that I am trying to find a solution to or even only know why does this happen. I built a website using ASP.NET, when I run the website locally it looks very normal (I am speaking Style and CSS wise) on all the browsers (including IE8). And when I deploy this website to the test server which has Windows Server 2003 and IIS 6, the applications looks normal too on all the browsers except IE8. I did not try other versions of IE but I have a requirement to have this website working on IE8. Some tweaking on the CSS solves some of the problems but I do not want to go through each and every tiny detail and rework my whole CSS. There are even some problem which cannot be resolved.I have no clue why is this happening. It should be something either with the OS or the application server because those are the only differences between my machine and the server. On my machine I have Windows 7 Enterprise and I was test the website on the ASP.NET development server.

I'm having some trouble with the asp.net FileUpload Control and sending email attachments.
I am able to run the following code and successfully create and attach 1 attachment to an email send mail it to myself with no problems.

I need to be able to handle multiple files and I am also saving the files to an sql database. I tried using multiple file upload controls (max 3) and can save the files to the database successfully, but any and all attachments that are emailed, appear corrupted in my inbox. So, I removed all the fileupload controls and left just on on the page. I created a generic List<Attachment> to store the attachments created from the fileupload control and then iterate through all entries and attach them to my email and save them to the database. Once again, saving to the database works perfectly and i can read the attachments back, but the email attachments are corrupt. Is there anything obvious that I am doing wrong?

I want to store attachments also... How to store attachments....
I have a site (URL...) which loads and runs fine locally on the server itself, but when I try to access this externally from outside of the server (and firewall) will not load. In Safari for example, I get the message "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding".I have other sites on this server that do load and operate fine so I don't belive this is a Firewall issue. One thing I did notice however is that when the error message appears, it seems like the site is trying to change the protocol from http to https.
I'm trying to debug this to find out what could be happening. I've tried looking into the IIS logs as well as the Event Viewer but I see nothing. I have even tried to turn on Failed Request Tracking but no errors are logged.
