And it seems to work...Im returning some tabular html data in the asmx....however in firebug everything is coming out encoded with the xml header...?? Im not appending that anywhere I can see...<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><string xmlns="http://tempuri.org/"><table class='whoinner'><thead><tr><th>Resident</th><th>Off</th><th>Returning</th><th>Type</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr dateid='6e220daa-b25b-4528-b402-fdffa009dfff' reqid='a03cb1d8-7150-481d-81a3-e1e7670cc10a' onclick='visualizeDate("Wednesday, August 04, 2010","Thursday, August 12, 2010")'> <td class='resident'>Steve</td><td class='from'>Aug 04 2010</td><td class='to'>Aug 12 2010</td><td class='type'>Vacation</td></tr></tbody></table></string>
I have a gridview and a css file that is giving it a style,colors, font style etcThe gridview is showing blog comments in it.If someone posts hyperlink in the blog comments, the gridview width gets increasedOnly in mozilla the hyperlink is getting wrapped and works fine but in I.E, opera, safari, chrome and all other browsers the wdith of the gridview is going out of the page.In my css. style sheet also i have defined width:.grid
I have a page that is essentially a group of controls on top, a button in the middle and a DataGrid at the bottom.
I wanted some asynchronous code to get ran; so I wrapped the bottom DataGrid in an UpdatePanel and made the button in the middle as the async trigger. This is working great. However, the button also needs to clear out the values of the controls up top after it adds to the bottom DataGrid.
The code to clear these controls out gets ran, but nothing changes on screen. I assume this is because the top controls need to be wrapped in an UpdatePanel as well. I did this, but I'm having a problem.
One of the controls up top is an asp:ImageButton. Clicking on this button executes a handler for the click event in the VB code behind. This VB constructs a Javascript snippet that opens a new window with a different page (don't ask me why it is done this way). That VB code gets executed, but nothing happens.
I am trying to call an asmx service using the jQuery ajax call-
[Code]....
I have double checked the url of the service and spelling/case of the name of the method as well as the parameters in the dataStr.
I still get the error-<b> Description: </b>HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
I am working on web application in which all of the data I am submitting back to the server is being done on the client side using JQuery AJAX calls to my .NET web services using JSON. This works perfectly to enhance my user experience and greatly reduces post backs, etc.What I am looking for suggestions on is securing the web services being exposed to the client side from being used by anything but my JQuery code on my site. The security hole that I see here is that since the client-side JQuery can access the web services, so could anything.
I would to know how can it be achieved by loading page content into a specific DIV without entirely refreshing a page. I mean if I click on linkbutton or a normal link on my menu bar like Contact us, the conact us content is loaded into the DIV and the same if another link is clicked on the menu Bar.
I have created a asmx web service.The service will interact with SQL Server database to Get, Insert and Update of some tables in my db.I have one Service method called AddItem which takes a class object as parameter. with that parameter I am inserting the values into the database. In the same way I have another service method that Gets all the Items from db using the same class and returns the class object as the return type for my service.
Here is my sample AddItem() and GetAllItems() prototype
Problem: Postbacks are causing eventtarget errors because they are going back to the aspx page where the tabs are defined instead of going to the href page. I have a main page called Default.aspx. On it is the setup for the jquery tabs using ajaxoptions.
Default.aspx javascript for tabs:
[Code]....
The dropdown is filled during the page load of lists.aspx. How can I get the postback to go to lists.aspx instead of back to the Default.aspx? I tried using IFrames and it worked great for postback issue but not for dynamic loading of pages. It loaded all pages up front which is not ok.
At first, I should confess that I am not sure if it is a good practice or not. I have came out with the idea due to my practice of jQuery.ajax().
What I want to achieve is depended on this design:
//Server Side; an .asmx file contains a method like this: [WebMethod] public string NewContent(string parameter) { string renderedHTML = string.Empty(); switch(parameter) { case ("person"): // create an asp.net panel with // some controls in it that has form elements to enter person data // render control and assign its html to renderedHTML break; case ("department"): // create an asp.net panel with // some controls in it that has form elements to enter department data // render control and assign its html to renderedHTML break; } }
And from the client I want to do this:
// Some html in the page <script type="text/JavaScript"> jQuery.post('ajax/myWebServices.asmx/NewContent' function(returnedPanelContent) { $('.result').html(returnedPanelContent); }); </script>
Question is:
How can I make it work? Briefly to have a webservice method that returns different asp.net Panel control content created programmatically so that I can get this control rendered as HTML in my client-side and insert it to my web page?
I'm getting this message when going to a web app that accesses my service.
"The content type text/html of the response message does not match the content type of the binding (text/xml; charset=utf-8)..."
The thing is, it happens once in a while even when no changes have been made to the service or the web app. And I can make it go away most of the time by going directly to the .svc?wsdl page in my browser and then coming back to the web app.
I have a nested master page. A parent master page, a child master page and a content page whose master page is the child master page. I have a reference to jQuery in the parent master page in the head section.<script type="text/javascript" src='<%#ResolveUrl("~/includes/jquery-1.4.2.min.js") %>' ></script> & Page.Header.DataBind(); in the OnLoad event.
I am using jQuery in all the pages including the master pages. However I am getting "Error: $().ready is not a function" in the content page. If I include jQuery reference in the content page it works. Question: If the reference to jQuery is in the master page head section, why aren't the content pages able to use jQuery? When I do view source, the script tag with jQuery is there and it works. The master pages and content page are merged during rendering and sent to the browser as a single html page so I am not sure when master pages are used, jQuery references break.
UPDATE:
When I changed '$.ready(function()' to 'jQuery(document).ready(function($)' it worked! I am not loading any other javascript libraries and I am not using MS Ajax.
I have a some data which is displayed in div body now i want to import that div content in excel format so how can i do this using javascript/jquery or even c#
I'm trying to use jquery lightbox functionallity when a user clicks on a button in my View, to give a friendly message "Please wait whilst we generate your data etc" whilst the second view that contains a lot of data is being generated. I was hoping to have the friendly message stay on the screen until the second View is ready to be displayed. At the moment the form submit button fires the popup but the button itself is not getting clicked, only the surrounding anchor tag:
I am building a website in which all of the site layout is in Master page and the content of the site is in the inherited pages. I have various links for navigation in which i simple use Response.Redirect to transfer to different pages. Now the problem is that I want to put the content place holder inside Ajax Update panel so that the postbacks are Asynchronous and I want to show the postback by an animated image inside Update Panel progress control. The problem is that I am unable to achieve this result and the entire page is posted back and rendered again. I have placed the content place holder inside the Ajax control toolkit's Update panel but it does not work. Is there any way that I can change the content of the content place holder to a new page with asynchronous postback.
I have implemented a lot fo JQuery features into my ASP.Net web application. I am using JQuery, JQueryUI, JQuery Validation and a couple of other plugins. They are all coexisting and working fine. This one page in my app has the JQueryUI tabs, Modal progress pop-up working just fine. This page also has a couple of JQuery AJAX calls to my server side events. That all works fine!
I just added a Jquery date picker to one of the text boxes on the first tab on my data entry form and nothing happens or is displayed when you click on the date textbox. I am going to post the HTML markup for the page and my JQuery code. Please let me know if you see anything glaring? HTML
I'm using this Ajax script [URL] to load content from an aspx page on another server than the page calling the content. So far I've learned that this is a no go. The problem seems to be that when using an absolute link to content the script fails as apposed to using a relative link.
I've searched the web for about 10 hours now, and I still haven't found what I'm looking for.
