JQuery :: Number Of Script Files To Be Referenced?
May 24, 2010
A typical web application can be decorated with so many features such as tooltips, validation, autocomplete, animations etc. To support these features, there are zillions of jQuery plugins, scripts out there. My question is that if we start including so many features, we will end referencing a large number of script files making the pages heavy. What would be a good solution around this problem? You may argue that we can only include the relevant script file (validation on forms) on a particular page. However, if we define a nice looking masterpage with so many references, we are again faced with the same problem.
I've created a new web application project in Visual Studio 2008, and then copied in some code from a project created with an older VS version. For instance, I'll add a new web form item in my project, say, "Shop.aspx". Then copy the older code into the new file. The trouble is that referenced supporting files get a "not found" warning.
The file ShopStyle.css resides in the same root folder of my project as Shop.aspx, but I get a "not found" warning about it. Or I'll have something like
When I use Project Reference to add dependent assemblies to my C# library project, I can use the "Go To Definition" popup menu item to go to the source file of the class defined in the dependent assembly. That is one of the most useful features of VS for me. However, when I add dependent assemblies as BIN References (via the Browse tab of the Add Reference dialog), I only get the class definition generated from metadata of the dependenat assembly, not the source file.
I realize that intellisense can't find the source directory of the dependent assembly, but where can I enter the directories so intellisense would know? There is a "VC++ Directories" page in the Options->Projects and Solutions dialog, but that is only for C/C++ projects. There should be one for C# as well. The bigger mystery is when I put my project in the debugger, I can step into methods defined in the dependent assembly and see its source file. Why could the debugger find the source file but not intellisense?
i am using .Net Framework 4.0 along with webservice and i create method in webservice that returns id's of no. of selected checkbox in checkbox List Here's code
im hope i can make sense to this post cause i dont have an idea where to begin :-) I have some files upload code so the user can upload files to the server (it can be 1 or 5 or 20 files). the code is working fine, and the files uploading to the folder on the server. The problem is, that after the files uploads i need to display to the user some textboxes to every file (like: number of copies, if its color or b/w, the print size etc). is there some way, after the files is uploaded, to show the user the name of the files and for each file name to display some textboxes (like: to count the number of files and then display the names and few same textboxes for each file),

I'm trying to read a CSV file into a DataTable using OleDbConnection and OleDbDataAdapter. It works loading the DataTable, but only does 255 columns. The file has 362 columns.
I have around 100 rdl report files...what i have found in google is -> open RS Admin site upload each report...doing this manually takes a lot of time... We don't want to use Target report server url method and clicking deploy option to deploy the reports or report project onto the report server...because we are not provided with such production server url information...!! In client perspective...We just give the reports as a rar file...now client will have to extract the report files...and what should be the next step...!! Is there anyway to deploy or upload all the reports at a time...!!

Using Microsoft built-in jquery files, when counting numbers of checked checkbox, the jquery-1.4.2.min.js cannot count the correct result ,however, the version jquery-1.3.2.min.js gives out the correct one, why?
$("#check").click(function () { var nameSports = new Array(); var i = 0; $('input[name=selector]:checked').each(function () { nameSports[i] = jQuery(this).val(); i += 1; }); if (loopCounter != 0) { alert(i); } }); <input type="checkbox" value="1" name="selector"> <input type="checkbox" value="2" name="selector"> <input type="checkbox" value="3" name="selector"> <a id="check">Check Items</a>
I have been looking for the best way to obtain the total number images in a folder where the first two characters on the file name are XX and place this number into a variable. So for example - I have a folder containing the following images:
XX-01.jpg XX-02.jpg XX-03.jpg YY-01.jpg ZZ-01.jpg
So I would populate the variable with 3 in this case.Does anyone know of any way to do this?
I am submitting my form's data that are input from textbox, dropdownlist, radiobuttons etc. to database using a XML web method which is submitting data asynchronously.Obviously page is not posted back and html input field's data are captured through javaScript code. Then with the javaScript code an XML Web Method is called with those input fields passed as parameters.
Upto this point everything is fine since all data that i have to submit is of string type.
But how can i upload attachments ? Thing is that i have to upload multiple attachments and all the attachments will be submitted when user clicks Submit button on the form.
When user clicks submit button on the form all form data and all files selected will be saved in the database through a XML web Serice which submits data asynchronously.
I am fairly new to jQuery. All the examples that I find online and in the book that i bought refers to the functions that you declare in the web page <head></head>. Nowhere can I find a good example of how i can use an additional .js file to hold all my jQuery functions in. like normal javascript functions that you use, you reference the external .js file in the <head> and then you are sorted.I hope i am clear enough. Can someone please give me detailed steps on how to get this done? I am alwys on the lookout for best practices and know it is better to keep the code seperate from the web page.
developing website with vs2010, asp.net4.0 , mvc2 jquery version 1.4.2. I want to upload files with ajax, but the jquery scripts don't working. my code:
I've looked all over the web for the best way to organize an ASP.NET MVC2 project. I've only seen examples of people using the default template for MVC2 projects. But is this the best way to organize your project if it is going to contain a large number of files?
We're in the process of building an application that is heavily built around jQuery for UI and ajax using JSON. So, as you can imagine, we will have many custom .js support scripts.
In our solution, we have placed all our support libraries (3rd party and custom) into respective projects. The MVC2 project that is also in the solution is using the default MVC2 template.
In the MVC2 project, the "starting" structure is still pretty much unchanged. Under the Controllers directory, we have each controller AccountController.cs and HomeController.cs (for example). Under the Views directory, we have three subdirectories named Account, Home, and Shared. In the Scripts, directory we have also divided that up with three directories, Account, Home, and Shared. And finally we have the Models directory, that is also divided into Account, Home, and Shared subdirectories.
As you can see we haven't deviated from the basic template that much. But, as we start adding stuff to this, we're realizing how cumbersome this might become when we get upwards to 20 or 30 views and 100 support .js files.
I have created a class file with a name space of name1. I have created the dll for that. I referenced this dll in my webapplication. But in the namespace section i can't get this namespace 'name1' in the intellisence. I am using the .net 3.5 frame work
