I have a reports UI that allows users to select the reports that they want to run. I want to be able to display each selected report in its own window so the site does not navigate away from the reports UI. Is there a way to acomplish this? Maybe through the response object? UI Summary
The user selects the reports from a list then clicks the run button. On post back the selected reports are placed in a collection and redirects to a new blank page that will prompt for any parms, render the report, remove the report from the selected reports collection, and redirect back to the reports UI. If reports still exist in the selected reports collection it redirects to a new blank page until the collection is empty.
I will declarate a attribute, but it gives me an error
This query works fine and returns 1 record from type int:
SELECT TOP 1 DataObjectVersionID FROM tblDataObjectVersionPropertyValueText WHERE PropValue like CAST('00010281' AS ntext) ORDER BY DataObjectVersionID DESC
And when I will declarate a attribute/parameter it gives me an error:
DECLARE @dataObjectVersionId INT SET @dataObjectVersionId = SELECT TOP 1 DataObjectVersionID FROM tblDataObjectVersionPropertyValueText WHERE PropValue like CAST('00010281' AS ntext) ORDER BY DataObjectVersionID DESC
Error message:
Msg 156, Level 15, State 1, Line 2 Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'SELECT'.
how can I add a attribute like rel="example_group" to a hyperlink control in a databound gridview?
<asp:HyperLink ID="HyperLink3" runat="server">HyperLink</asp:HyperLink> Protected Sub GridView1_RowDataBound(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewRowEventArgs) Handles GridView1.RowDataBound Dim myImage As HyperLink = CType(e.Row.FindControl("HyperLink3"), HyperLink) myImage.Attributes.Add("rel", "example_group") End Sub
I am a newbie in asp.net. I am trying to load the text and the URL into hyperlink from a database. After debugging, I found out that the value is successfully loaded into the hyperlink control, however it doesn't shows at the html code? Does anyone knows how this happened?
If myReader2.Read Then Dim temp_panel As Panel Dim temp_hyperlink As HyperLink temp_panel = FindControlRecursive(Me, "Panel" & i.ToString()) temp_panel.CssClass = "accordionItem"
I have a hyper link control and I set the NavigateURL and the ImageURL property at runtime. I also need to set the class of the image tag that it generates but I cannot figure out how I can do that. The solution mentioned here [URL] does not work because the image url is hard coded.
Is it possible to specificy height and width dimensions of the ImageUrl attribute in a <asp:HyperLink> control? I tried setting the height and width attributes of the HyperLink control thinking the picture specified in the ImageUrl attribute of the HyperLink control would be resized to the dimensions of the height and width attributes but it wasn't.If I can't somehow resize the specified image for the HyperLink Im gonna have to scrap the control and do it the old fasioned way. By using a regular <asp:Image> control inside an <a href>.
i have a web site that uses forms authentication. the problem is that i have the site installed multiple times on the same production servers because i need to have a few different login pages (based on the domain in this case). after the domain specific login page, the rest of the site is the same. obviously, this requires a lot of maintenance as each new version has to be installed multiple times on the server (with varying the login page in the web.config file).
so i thought is there a way to install the site on 1 folder on the disk, have a web site on the IIS take in all the needed domains and make some http module (or some other solution) in which i could give it a list of domains and the forms authentication for that domain. this way make the login page used by each site change according to the domain while still having only one site to maintain on the server.
Is there a jQuery technique to select all the page controls/divs with a non-zero scrollbar position?
I'm trying to solve a problem faced by many; essentially after a partial asp.net postback all the controls/divs that had a scrollbar with a non-zero value (ie: were scrolled down to some position) are reset to the zero (top of the scrollbar).
My approach is to have a jQuery script save all the scrollbar positions for all the controls/divs contained on a page and after the postback, restore all the scroll bar positions.Is it possible, can it even work? If it is, how do I use jQuery to select all the divs with scrollbars and then save those positions.
Supposing I have a user control like this <MyTag:MyWidget runat="server" /> I am wondering if I can do something like <MyTag:MyWidget runat="server" MemberHeight="400" PublicHeight="200" /> So that in MyWidget.ascx I can have <div height="<%=IsLoggedIn ? MemberHeight : PublicHeight%>"> or something like that...? Because I want the height to vary in each page that is using this widget.
I want to create a single custom authorization attribute to be added to controller actions that require authenticated users.
My first shot at this, so I may have it all wrong
Got 3 Roles which corresponds to 3 Areas in my application (Client app, so I'll just call them RoleOne, RoleTwo, RoleThree and AreaOne, AreaTwo, AreaThree).
Each area have similiar (to a point) views and actions, like Sign Up, Area specific home, etc.
In the attribute I want to determine the current area, controller and action. Then I just add code like:
If not logged in, and in AreaOne, go to AreaOne Signup (etc)If logged in as RoleOne, and AreaOne Home is requested, go there, but if AreaTwo Home is requested ,go to AreaTwo Signup So in my attribute class I need to determine the current area, controller and action, and see what kind of user we have logged in (if any)
Using ActionExecutingContext it seems I can determine the contoller and action method names, however I cannot find the Area name, and altered the attribute to be called like this:
Is it possible to access a parent class from within an attribute.
For example I would like to create a DropDownListAttribute which can be applied to a property of a viewmodel class in MVC and then create a drop down list from an editor template. I am following a similar line as Kazi Manzur Rashid here.
He adds the collection of categories into viewdata and retrieves them using the key supplied to the attribute.
I would like to do something like the below,
public ExampleDropDownViewModel { public IEnumerable<SelectListItem> Categories {get;set;} [DropDownList("Categories")] public int CategoryID { get;set; } }
The attribute takes the name of the property containing the collection to bind to. I can't figure out how to access a property on the parent class of the attribute. Does anyone know how to do this?
I've create a custom attribute for my web pages... In the base page class I've created I'm trying to pull if that attribute has been set. Unfortunately it does not come back as part of the GetCustomAttributes function. Only if I explicitly use the typeof(myclass) to create the class. I have a feeling it's due to how asp.net classes are generated.
I have some code which is rendering some custom attributes of Hidden Control (without runat=server).
Something like,
And I have a lot of these hidden elements on my form.
When I submit the form, I am looping through a set of ids, say 1200 to 1250, so I will read controls based on that, and also hidden with Request.Form["hdn "]
Now problem is, as we know we get value attribute from form when we do Request.Form["id"] for hidden, I want to read my custom attributes from hidden element. Is there any way? Note that, I can not touch the rendering part here.
To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".
I got this error at time of running ma published website but only for 1page this error occurred how it can be solved.
The attribute is not rendered to the client, even when the custom namespace is declared in the html element like: <html xmlns= [URL] Does anyone know of a way to get this to render to the client, without having to use a custom control. A module or other globally "pluggable" solution would be acceptable.
I'm new to ASP.NET and MVC in particular. Now, I'm trying to understand if I can easily get values of custom attributes of submitted data. For example, When writing something like this inside a form (which works and posts and I can get the checkbox value) <%= Html.CheckBox("cb1", new { listen = "listen:6" }) %> Can I get the value of "listen" directly or do I need JS? (I know I can just use hidden fields, but I'm I'm asking anyway)
I have a custom authorization attribute, that basically check if the current user's role is equals to the current area name, and if not, redirect them to the signup view in that requested area. (dummy role provider at this this stage, therefor check it against the user's name at the moment)
It runs fine (IIS) but when I debug it I can see a Security Exception are being thrown by the code
I have some code which is rendering some custom attributes of Hidden Control (without runat=server).
Something like,
<input type='hidden' id = 'hdn1221' name = 'hdn1221' OldValue = '12' OldMode = 'A' />
And I have a lot of these hidden elements on my form.
When I submit the form, I am looping through a set of ids, say 1200 to 1250, so I will read controls based on that, and also hidden with Request.Form["hdn<Id> "]
Now problem is, as we know we get value attribute from form when we do Request.Form["id"] for hidden, I want to read my custom attributes from hidden element. Is there any way? Note that, I can not touch the rendering part here.
I have an ASP.NET 3.5 Site where, in some places, I am checking if the currently logged on Active Directory user is in a certain AD Security Group. In the Page_Load I'm doing something like this:
if (isInADGroup(UserGUID)) { //proceed }
Now I was wondering, couldn't I just create a Custom Attribute, like some of MVC's security attributes, which runs this check and cancels the execution or displays an error message?
I have a [BeastAuthenticate] attribute on my controller. The following code works fine but I would like to use Contructor (Dependency) Injection with Unity. The problem is that the attribute will run the contructor with no parameters. terfaces ITMSLogger and IADGroups are setup to use Dependency Injection with TMSLogger and ADGroups respectively. The following code works fine but doesn't use dependency injection for class ADGroups.
[Code]....
I tried the following but I'm getting an error ("Object reference is required...") with "this (adGroups).
