Open Images In Lightbox Asp / Linq2sql With Querystring Parameter
Mar 30, 2011Don't know if this is possible, but i have a site with categories, when you click a category i want it to redirect to the same page, but with a querystring parameter of the category id. The page will then load a lightbox to open the images with the correct category id. That is my basic thought. if any1 has a better ide, i'll gladly listen. Dont worry about the linq2sql parts, that i am sure how to do.

Dec 21, 2010I'm trying to use jquery lightbox functionallity when a user clicks on a button in my View, to give a friendly message "Please wait whilst we generate your data etc" whilst the second view that contains a lot of data is being generated. I was hoping to have the friendly message stay on the screen until the second View is ready to be displayed. At the moment the form submit button fires the popup but the button itself is not getting clicked, only the surrounding anchor tag:

I am using server side code to assign image to the image control.
And some javascripts to assign the href of anchor tag.
The Problem which I am facing Currently is as follows:-
If I am clicking on the image of 1st row then the jquery light box modal is working perfectly but when i am clicking on the image of other rows then its not working.
What I think, when the listview tries to repeat the rows the id of that anchor tag & image control is getting changed and the javascript which I am usiong to assign the href attribute of anchor tag, cannot find an id for that same anchor tag and the image control.

Feb 17, 2011I'm wondering if you can use a lightbox with aspx pages? For my project, i'm trying to make some kind of search tool in that lightbox. On my default page , you have a img link that opens a lightbox (with an aspx page) In that lightbox, when you click a button (asp button), the page renders like a normal full browser page with the same content. The page should stay in that lightbox and rendering the results in a listbox. Is this possible? Or is this the wrong way?

I have a button inside the updatepanel that if pressed makes the pnlVideoLightbox visible. Then I just click on the thumbnail that should fire the lightbox but the browser redirects to the youtube website instead of firing the JQuery code.

Mar 21, 2011I want to create a product sale page. The sale page will have images of products generated from sql server database with their price and name. When a user clicks on a specific image, it should navigate to another page with more images and details of that particular product. I just dunno which control to use to display images on the sale page. Also the admin can add products with images, therfore when they add new product , that product should come the first on the sale page. I can acheive that just by writing a simple query , but i dont know what should i use to display images. I cant use image buttons coz the images can be more than 50 depends, nor i can use grid view for images. I am using asp.net and sql server 2008.

Aug 31, 2010I have been given a requirement to take an existing stand-alone web-form (i.e. uses postbacks) and throw it into a lightbox. The standalone web-form already has save and cancel buttons that have predefined behaviors. For example, the Save button attempts to save the form, and either displays validation errors, or if the operation was successful, redirects to some other page in the app. However, in the context of this new "lightbox mode", the Save button should additionally close the lightbox if the operation was successful. I see two options:
Option 1-->UpdatePanel + ModalDialogExtender:a. Extract a UserControl out of the standalone web-form that includes everything but save/cancel buttonsb. Introduce Save and Cancel EventHandlers on said UserControl
c. Use this UserControl on both the standalone and lightbox versions of the page, and wire up the events appropriatelyOption 2-->Client side lightbox (i.e. jQuery)I'm a big fan of jQuery and tend to favor its use for Ajax functionality b/c of the level of control it gives me. I can get all the images from the databse but I cant find a way to show those images on the jquery image swapper. I can display all the images by using datalist but with data list i cant use the jquery image swapper.
