I am using server side code to assign image to the image control.
And some javascripts to assign the href of anchor tag.
The Problem which I am facing Currently is as follows:-
If I am clicking on the image of 1st row then the jquery light box modal is working perfectly but when i am clicking on the image of other rows then its not working.
What I think, when the listview tries to repeat the rows the id of that anchor tag & image control is getting changed and the javascript which I am usiong to assign the href attribute of anchor tag, cannot find an id for that same anchor tag and the image control.

Aug 22, 2010I have a table with records that has delete links. Basically I followed the NerdDinner tutorial for that part in MVC. But I don't want to have the confirm view, I'd rather have a confirm dialog, and then if confirmed let the HttPost action method delete the record directly.
I have something working, but being new to both MVC and jQuery, I'm not sure if I'm doing it right.
Here's the jQuery:
I found the function for making the link POST instead of GET on the internet: `$.post(this.href); return false; And I'm not sure what the "return false" part does. I tried to modify it for my needs with a callback and so on, and kept the return part without knowing what it's for.
Secondly, the action method has the HttpPost attribute, but I have also read somewhere that you can use a delete verb. Should you? And what about the RedirectToAction? The purpose of that was originally to refresh the page, but that didn't work, so I added the window.location.reload instead in a callback in the jQuery. Any thoughts?
The Delete action method calls a couple of helper methods because it seems with the Entity Framework that I use for data, I can't just delete an record if it has relationship dependencies. I had to first delete the relationships and then the "User" record itself. That works fine, but I would have thought it would be possible to just delete a record and all the relationships would be automatically deleted...?
I know you're not supposed to just delete with links directly because crawlers etc could accidentally be deleting records. But with the jQuery, are there any security issues with this? Crawlers couldn't do that when there is a jQuery check in between, right?

Jul 8, 2010when i click the picture that is displayed in the detailsView ImageField, the jquery lightbox pops up, but does not show the picture. it shows a red x in the middle of the lightbox. the same thing happens with the asp:Image control shown in the code below. The picture is stored in a SQL database Image datatype. Using master pages.

JQuery :: MVC Jquery Lightbox Whilst View Content Is Being Built?
Dec 21, 2010I'm trying to use jquery lightbox functionallity when a user clicks on a button in my View, to give a friendly message "Please wait whilst we generate your data etc" whilst the second view that contains a lot of data is being generated. I was hoping to have the friendly message stay on the screen until the second View is ready to be displayed. At the moment the form submit button fires the popup but the button itself is not getting clicked, only the surrounding anchor tag:

Feb 17, 2011I'm wondering if you can use a lightbox with aspx pages? For my project, i'm trying to make some kind of search tool in that lightbox. On my default page , you have a img link that opens a lightbox (with an aspx page) In that lightbox, when you click a button (asp button), the page renders like a normal full browser page with the same content. The page should stay in that lightbox and rendering the results in a listbox. Is this possible? Or is this the wrong way?

now on the server side I user linq to delete specified row and then submit changes to my DataContext and then DataBind() on my grid.
Problem is that sometimes standard ASPxGridView loading panel is shown for about 1 second ant then my row dissapears so it behaves properly but sometimes loading panel stops mooving. and I need to move mouse over my grid or click button so that my Grid is updated(row dissapears).

Aug 31, 2010I have been given a requirement to take an existing stand-alone web-form (i.e. uses postbacks) and throw it into a lightbox. The standalone web-form already has save and cancel buttons that have predefined behaviors. For example, the Save button attempts to save the form, and either displays validation errors, or if the operation was successful, redirects to some other page in the app. However, in the context of this new "lightbox mode", the Save button should additionally close the lightbox if the operation was successful. I see two options:
Option 1-->UpdatePanel + ModalDialogExtender:a. Extract a UserControl out of the standalone web-form that includes everything but save/cancel buttonsb. Introduce Save and Cancel EventHandlers on said UserControl
c. Use this UserControl on both the standalone and lightbox versions of the page, and wire up the events appropriatelyOption 2-->Client side lightbox (i.e. jQuery)I'm a big fan of jQuery and tend to favor its use for Ajax functionality b/c of the level of control it gives me.
