I have tried the following solutions in my ASP.Net(C#) website for which I had previously configured ASP.Net membership module.http://riderdesign.com/articles/Check-username-availability-with-JQuery-and-ASP.NET.aspxhttp://www.ajaxlines.com/ajax/stuff/article/validate_username_using_jquery_ajax_json_and_aspnet_web_method.phpBut when my username textbox losses focus, a following error appears besides my textbox,
Why it is giving this error? Why it is not locating CheckUserName() function that I have added in myPage.aspx.cs file which is it admin's folder? Is it the path issue that I have given in JSON? or its due to something else !!!
have once posted a question but am really not sure how can I go about using AJAX to do it. Some have suggested using jQuery but I'm not sure how to use the jQuery so any suggestions on ASP.NET AJAX? I've already got the codes for the non-AJAX method(using a select statement), but thought that AJAX will be more dynamic.
how can I do it? Here are the codes I used for the non-AJAX method. It works fine, just that I want to use AJAX to do it.[Code]....
I have a textbox on blur function.I'm calling a Jquery function which work call a webmethod on the cs file returning true and false.I am using JSON.This whole functionality is working on local and when i give a alert(result.d).It gives proper result when working on the server i.e 0 or 1.But when i do that on server,it returns undefined.I have used json.

I am having a big problem with the OnTextChanged event of a textbox....
I have tried several different scenerios and just don't seem to be getting it to work right...
I either get a full page postback which is not what I want or get a very peculiar extra textbox added to my page after OnTextChanged is executed...
currently the update panel is working as expected but it inserts an extra textbox into my form "magically"... so strange...the textbox that is added keeps a running history of what is submitted...you can take a look here at the behavior.. it is the email form in the middle of the page
Here is what I am working with...
and then in the code behind I insert a image to let the user know what is going on..
not sure why an extra textbox is added but everything else seems ok.....
I have a custom user control with some input fields and a submit button. I need to validate the fields using the jquery validation plugin when the submit button is clicked. (The function of the submit button is to create another custom control which displays the data entered in the above mentioned control)
Bt as far as I knw, validation plugin works only with form validation ryt? And my custom control does not contain a form tag as I am using master pages. The custom control is present in one of the content pages and the master page already contains a form tag with a runat=server attribute. And I guess one page can contain only a single form tag with runat=server attrib ryt?
I have made a user signup form in asp.net. I want to check the user availability from user table made in sqlserver without postbacking of the page to the server. Checking user availability when the focus out from textbox or during text change.
I'm getting this error code in a voting system which I made.
"Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_Awards'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.Awards'. The statement has been terminated."
It's good because it means I am stopping people from voting twice, however, I want to display an error message in the site, and I want to make this occurance user friendly, as I have no idea how this error will look when the website is live.
Here is all of my code:
How will this error look when the website is live? How can I display a message to warn the user that he has already voted?
how to display a confirm message to the user and return the value mid processing. Basically the user will upload a file, some processing will begin, if certain issues are found the user will be asked if they want to continue with or without these issues. If the user chooses Yes then processing should resume, if they choose no the program

I'm quite new to Web Development. I'm creating a web site and it has a Registration Page where I managed to create the form. But when the user clicks on the 'CreateUser' button, how do I display a message on the form to show that the User is created. And also, at the moment, I don't know where the user details are being created. I wish to add the details to a Login Table in the SQL Database. How do I go about it?
I simply want to display a message on the login page when the user is automatically redirected there after requesting a page that they were logged in for but their session has now expired. So essentially if the user was working but stepped away for a lunch break without logging out I want the system to tell them why they were sent back to the login page.
Something like "You have been idle for too long so you must log back in".
This has to be easy I am just running into a wall here. I thought about getting the original ticket and reading the expiration date but I'm a little lost.
My forms all POST (by way of jQuery $.ajax) to actions that return partial views (html) that are used to update a in the "success:" part of the $.ajax function.
I was hoping for some sort of mechanism in the master view that could "listen" for any messages that any of these partial views might be "delivering"--through their ViewData, for instance.
I tried to use ClientScript. RegisterClientScriptBlock on Login1_Authenticate event, it didn't work. I tried the same thing on the Page_Load event of Default.aspx as well as Master Page load event, that also didnt work.
I want to display a confirm/ save message to user when he clicks the this works great. But instead of "are you sure you want to move" type option, I want to give the user the option to save changes now. So I want to call a sub in code behind which saves changes. This sub is currently fired by a seperate "Update" button. So either call the sub or fire a button click event.
