JQuery :: Values Get Misses After Postbacks?

i m using jquery in many of sections in my asp.net applications for server controls like multiple file upload using asp:fileupload, autocomplete using asp:textbox. Everything works fine & gets save in database also.But the problem is that whenever a postback occors "before a save event" it clears all textboxes vales which are utilizing jquery functionality. e.g. if i type 'U' in country autocomplete textbox, it gives 'USA', 'Uganda' etc, i select one of it & it sets the text of textbox as chosen item. But somehow, result is not saved due to a logical error. So the value in textbox gets cleared & i have to again type in textbox before save.

I am having some problem with Jquery validation.
In my application i am using jquery validation plugin..I am using Updatepanels and i am validating using
Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_initializeRequest(ValidateMyForm);
and ValidateMyform will validate on each button click...

Here I want to get back the page to normal stage(like after a full page postback)...even though after async postback the validation is still active...it should not get back to normal and its throwing errors if i enter something wrong...this is because the page is not fully refreshed on asyc postbacks...I just want get the like the normal after each asyc post back...
I tried using submit and reset to reset the page but its became to normal..the validation is still active...I have no idea what to do..

I have a page, where I dynamically add textboxes within an updatepanel with a button.click event. Those are common telephone, fax, email, etc.. Now I put in some values, store those in Session with Arraylist and go to next page. Here, there is a button to go back to previous page. Ive managed to recreate all those textboxes on Page_Load event, using if not page.ispostback, then.. Now, this problem is driving me crazy. When I load my page, put in some values, add as many textboxes, as I want and go "Next", its ok. Then I go "Back" and everything is recreated and I see as many values within textboxes, that I created. But when I do this for a 2nd time, I can only see recreated textboxes without values. Ive spent some time searching for a simple solution, or an advice. But with no success. I could post some code here, but its a bit long and complicated. But if necesarry, I will.

I have a Listbox getting populated when the page loads itself and also in postbacks. Some items are already selected in that listbox even when the page loads or postbacks. I have to select one or more items in that textbox in addition to the selected one.
Till this point, it works perfectly, but the problem is that when i click an "update" button to save the newly added items, then also the page postbacks and so the list box get populated again. This will loose the newly selected items and none of the newly selected items will be saved.
So what should i do in order not to loose the newly selected items when i click the "update" button.
Note:- I need to populate the listbox on postbacks also. So the population of that listbox on postbacks cannot be discarded.

I'm inserting some non-server controls (plain html controls) dynamically into an update panel using jQuery.
If I do a full postback, I can get the values of those controls using Request.Form, however if I do a partial postback, I cannot.
Should I be able to get the values of html controls during a partial postback? Or only controls with runat="server"?
I am using non server controls as I'm playing around with facebox and file upload controls...

I'm working on a webform with various controls. Depending on user-input I show/hide (using JQuery's show()/hide() functions) bits of the GUI. However if the form is posted-back and fails validation, I want the GUI to remain in the same state it was pre-postback rather than returning to the first-load state. Obviously the ASP.Net controls retain state, but I have HTML containers that are pure client-side objects.
In attempting to design a solution I find myself heading towards the murky (and tricky-to-debug) realms of hidden form fields - more reminiscent of my pre-JQuery work than anything 21st Century :-(

I am trying to retrive the query string value and display it on the aspx page. The query string is passed from a gridview. Everything works fine except i noticed that when there is an '&' in the query string then the label on the page will display only uptil the '&' (i.e. excluding the '&'). Just so to let you know. I retrive the value of the querystring into a string variable and then assign it to the variable. I have noticed this only for '&' character but maybe there are more characters with sinmilar bahaviour that I am not aware of.if anyone has a workaround on displaying all the content from the querystring then do share.

I'm dynamically binding tables and sub tables using nested listviews. On the client side I have a piece of jQuery that is toggling the visiblity of TRs witin the tables in order to provide a group expand / contract view option.
On postback I'm obviously loosing my class changes that I have applied via jQuery. I'm wondering what the best approach to maintaining these client side class changes is? I've considered creating a hidden input control per table to store the indexes of the visible TRs at the time of expanding them. The intention being to then look for the indexes during postback / rebinding and add the visible classes to each corresponding element.
Is there a better approach or some native method of passing back the client side style / class change to the server during postbacks?

I'm writing a tooltip plugin for the learning (I know there is already alot of good ones). I was wondering if there is a way to get a value from an external stylesheet. For example, I have an option called containWidth, when it is set to true, I want the tooltip to become the same width as the element which displays it. I can do this but it doesn't take into account any padding,borders or margins.
The class it is using is jamestip-tooltip, so can I somehow in jQuery get the padding and margin elements of this class?
It is in an external stylesheet.

I have a series of checkboxes and I would like to append the text value to a div every time and item gets selected, but I'd also like to remove the item from the div's text when an item is deselected.
I'm guessing the best way would be with some sort of an array? Can I get some guidance on this one?

I am looking for a jQuery/jTemplate code for formatting the date and currency values from the SQL database. I know I could format them in SQL directly but I am also looking for ways to do it in the HTML template. For example in the jTemplate I have code like this

When it's time to return I want to grab all content returned from the stored procedure back to the jquery method in the success section and set a hiddenfield, dropdown value, and a title in a textfield. In the jQuery I tried using "pageTitle" but it came up undefined. What do I need to do jQuery side to grab whats being returned and populate fields in my Web Form before showing the form?

I have a series of jQuery dialogs that contain ASP.NET form fields. I have a hidden ASP.NET button that is triggered when the user clicks a button in one of the jQuery dialogs. I can enter some data (listboxes and textboxes) and click the button that triggers the hidden button's event (an onClick) and the page will post back.
But, when I put a breakpoint in the onClick event in my codebehind I see that the form fields (reportTypeListBox.SelectedValue, etc.) just have the default values instead of the ones I entered. This happens unless I take the form fields out of the jQuery dialog, then it works perfectly.
I have another jQuery dialog that contains a ASP.NET textbox that is basically doing the same thing (triggering a hidden ASP.NET button with an onClick event) that works properly. The only difference is that its jQuery dialog is not in a seperate javascript function. It's right in the "$(document).ready(function () { }." While, the series of dialogs that are having trouble are in a function called "openDialog(selector)."

Some Info:
1. I'm using a multi-select jqgrid.
2. I have my own delete button to delete multiple orders
The problem:
When i press the delete button on the pager of my jqgrid, the records are deleted from the database but JqGrid shows some records (4-5). On refreshing the grid, correct numbers of records are shown.

I have written a ajax function that I will check the result of a div tag to see if I want to hide the partial view and show the result. The result depends on what is coming back from the controller and the html(result variable). It should only go to the else statement if the return html string does not contain a div tag with id "valRegno". I do not know how I can find the div tag and check if it is there or not. The "result" htmls are nice and show me the details I am intrested but I can not extract it from the html string.
