JavaScript Template Disappears On Clicking Any Control?
Oct 20, 2010
I have used the Javascript Menu template from Sothink and embedded it in my Master Page. Now when I click on any control of a form like a Radiobutton or a Linkbutton, etc. the Side Javascript Menu disappears. I don't understand why. Initially it shows but later disappears on clicking a redirecting control.
After it is done, I can't click on my calendar control. I was hoping to add somethign that would force a refresh in the script, but nothing I do works.
My Gridview is refreshing its datasource when the edit button is clicked. How can I prevent this from happening? This isn't much of a problem when there aren't a lot of records, but when there are many it takes awhile. The data is already loaded so the edit button shouldn't need to reload the data. The edit button is a template edit button, and I'm using an SQL Datasource that connects to an Oracle database. The SQL datasource uses a control parameter that points to a dropdownlist.
I have a page with an AJAX TabContainer and 4 AJAX TabPanels and have Save button. On a button click im calling javascript thats make ajax tab disappear why?
I have a user control which acts as a footer for my website and uses java script jqdock.js to show apple type bottom menu. I added an update panel to the usercontrol. What problem I am having now is, it works fine initally but once I click the mail button which is in the usercontrol , the whole user control dissapears, after postback i guess. below is the usercontrol and code view:
enter code here
public void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) {
How is it possible that when I click on this image, then it shows the ~/collapse.gif and vice versa? I think I need to do this in javascript but do not know how?
I'm using the AsyncFileUpload control inside my FormView (that is in a UserControl - .ascx file), and to "simulate" a server-side event I register a javascript script to do a click event of an hidden button (this is a trick discovered in this forum).
The click event is fired after the upload complete but... when the event is finished the AsyncFileUpload ontrol DISAPPEARS from the page and it is showen this instead:
I have a public folder on the server that contains recursively nested sub folders. In the various Leaf folders contains Images. I wanted to create a server side file browser that will display the Images to the user.I am using the ASP.NET TreeView Control.I create the tree nodes using PopulateOnDemand.
If the user click on a leaf directory I want the images in that folder to be displayed in a DataList Control. The problem is that when I click on a sub tree node (after I expanded it parent node)All the expanded sub tree disappears and only the parent node is showed with no + sign next to it !!( I have set the TreeView's PopulateNodesFromClient property to true )Here is the code :
I made two web user controls that i want to show on web form. On web form there is PlaceHolder. I know how to load control but there is problem when i want to show both of them in same time. It seems that first shows control1 and after that control2 even I have put break between them. Control1 somehow disappears. Here is piece of code:
I have a textbox sitting at the bottom of a collapsible panel which has a RequiredFieldValidator sitting underneath that. If a user tries to submit the form without filling in this textbox then the RequiredFieldValidator generates a little "Required" box beneath the textbox. The trouble is that the panel doesn't resize propely and only the top of the validation warning box is visible so the message isn't legible.
I tried adding some margin-bottom to the div that contains the textbox and validator to ensure the space was already there but the moment the validation box appears the collapsible panel automatically resizes so the bottom of the panel meets the bottom of the textbox, ignoring the prior margin. Apart from moving the validation box, does anyone know how I can get the collapsible panel to resize correctly?
I have the following problem. I have a user control with its own events and procedures. I added this control to a page programmatically. It appears as it should but when you click a button on the user control. the control disappears from the page.
Actually I have Multiple update panels on page, which update different values on server but the problem is that I have textbox to which I attach javascript class for datepicker on Load event.
But There are other updatepanels before that date TextBox, when I update them first calender image with date control which is in updatepanel disappears. or it remove the calender which is next to the textbox.
I have a dropdown on page, a place holder and a save button on my form. Now, I am creating a textbox on selectedIndexChanged event of dropdown list and adding it to placeholder. And on button click I want to access the control, but on click event, I find the textbox as null. Here is my code
In our application we are using set of images as slides. If we click one image we want to get the id of the in the same page. i have tried by using the following code.
code:
HTML:
<a id="100" href="#"> <img scr="..."/> </a> ...
JQUERY code:
$("div.alb a").click(function() { });
Problem:
Without href="#" the click event is not working.
I want to get the id by clicking the image without using server control.
Without using server control is it possible to achieve this task.
my project is related to tour and travels, i have created menus which are on masterpage, it contains, Home | hotel| bus| car etc... menus when i move pointer to hotel it will show me submenus like, add new hotel, modify hotel ,delete hotel etc... but one thing i want to do when i click on hotel menu it should display me the searchscreen for hotel searching i have created usercontrol for hotel searching, i have register that control on index.aspx page of masterpage. but the problem is that when i run that project before showing menus it shows error "Object expected" after clicking on ok button it displays menus, then i move pointer on any menu it will not show me the submenu while if i haven't register the search usercontrol and run the website it will show me submenus properly and one more thing if i select the search criteria and click on save button it again shows me same error "object expected" why it gives me error?
I have a web application that shows a page containing between 6 and 20 AJAX UpdatePanels, contained with Custom Web (.ascx) Controls.
You can see an example of such a page here:

The problem I'm getting is that when the user FIRST clicks any of the radio-buttons on any of the controls in the page, ALL the radio buttons that have an active selection ALSO fire an rb_CheckChanged event (see application log below). On subsequent radio-button clicks, only that RB fires the event (as expected).
This behaviour is having a dramatic impact on performance. The page loads quickly, and a "normal" RB click provides an AJAX update correctly within 1 second. The problematic first RB click, however, takes up to SIX seconds to process, which is unacceptable from a user experience standpoint.
Developed in VS.NET 2008, ASP.NET 3.5. Also I converted the "Web Site" solution to a "Web Application" (pre-compiled) and got the same performance (still too slow). Release builds run only marginally faster than debug builds.
Why would a single RB selection change cause all RB's that have a "selection" set on them to also fire? (The "selection" is determined through database settings every time the control is populated, which is called from within the parent page control's Page_Load function. This selection is determined also at first page load, since all the controls get populated then, so why would the clicking of an RB cause them all to fire an event, and only once? That's what I don't get...)
Not sure if this is an AJAX issue, or general ASP.NET UI issue, so I'm posting in two forums on this one.
I have two asp.net buttons inside a template (Expand and Collapse) I want to implement a simple client side javascript function to hide the expand button after press it and show the collapse button and vice versa.
I tried OnClientClick event but I didn't know how to get the sender button and the second button from javascipt because they're in a template and their IDs will be generated.
I tried also to change their visibility from the code behind in the server (by Visible property) but the problems is the event handler will be fired after the postback and the changes will not be applied in the client.
I have a GridView which contains 3 fields( Label Fields) , I want to open a popup window through ajax when any one cell of Grid is clicked or Text of Label control is clicked.
