How To Show The Search Control On Clicking Of Menu
May 29, 2010
my project is related to tour and travels, i have created menus which are on masterpage, it contains, Home | hotel| bus| car etc... menus when i move pointer to hotel it will show me submenus like, add new hotel, modify hotel ,delete hotel etc... but one thing i want to do when i click on hotel menu it should display me the searchscreen for hotel searching i have created usercontrol for hotel searching, i have register that control on index.aspx page of masterpage. but the problem is that when i run that project before showing menus it shows error "Object expected" after clicking on ok button it displays menus, then i move pointer on any menu it will not show me the submenu while if i haven't register the search usercontrol and run the website it will show me submenus properly and one more thing if i select the search criteria and click on save button it again shows me same error "object expected" why it gives me error?
I have designed a menu control in master page. But its dynamic sub menus are hide behind the images whice is in content page called home.aspx. It shows the submenus at development phase but not at hosting time. Here is my code for a menu. Is there any problem in my code. One more thing is that when I open the website in mozilla it shows every submenus not in any version of internet explorer.
I've got a simple website that contains a master page with a menu on it. The menu works fine with IE and Firefox but when I try it in Chrome clicking the menu doesn't seem to work.
Here is how I have set the menu up:
How do I get the click on the menu to display the correct page?
am using vs.net 2005 wit c# In my web application we used master page and child pages. In master page we have the search option ( a textbox with serach button). when user enters something into the text box and press enter then i should display the search result. So i placed that in a panel (in master page) and set the default button as Search button. My Problem is i have other hyperlinks and linkbuttons in the master page and in child pages. when am clicking any other hyperlink or linkbutton the search button is getting activated (not the respective one). How to solve this?
I'm trying to style an asp:Menu, so that when I hover over a child menu, all the parent menu's will have the background mouse over selected colour. (Take a look at the win xp start menu for example, with default theme blue, all parent menu's will be highlighted as blue if a child is selected) At first I thought this was something simple, but after intense researching (google), I am beginning to wonder...
How is it possible that when I click on this image, then it shows the ~/collapse.gif and vice versa? I think I need to do this in javascript but do not know how?
the output I am getting at the moment, is my parent data displays along with my child data. However when I click on the button to toggle the views i am getting a "cannot cast type error"I have also tried to put the itemdatabound event in my parent repeater tag, that worked but when I click on the buttons it just keeps moving to the top of the page and won't hide or show any of the child data except for the first child of the first parent.
<%@Page Language="VB" EnableEventValidation="false"%> <%@Import Namespace="System.Data" %> <%@Import Namespace="System.Data.OleDb" %> <script runat="server"> Dim ds As DataSet, divdtls, btnview, repeat Sub ItemDataBound [code]...
Is there a way to add/delete/update the default classes (for instance AspNet-Menu-WithChildren,AspNet-Menu-NonLink ) of the html generated by the asp.net menu or treeview control? I am using CSSAdapters so the menu control renders in a list format instead of table format.
For the ASP.NET Menu Server Control whose RenderMode is set to "List", there is an "Orientation" property which decides whether the menu would render as a horizontal or a vertical menu. I have compared the two HTML source code and was unable to find out which part of the HTML/CSS code set the orientation of the menu(unordered list).
I am trying to style the menu control to allow the menu items to float to the right of the container, however I am unable to do so as whenever I am styling the a, ul or li it keeps getting overidded by asp.net and floats everything left.
What I want is to show menu items Administrator or show user menu items.Show menu items using login...How I can do it with role provider, control menu and siteMap in masterpage?
I need a help in creating a vertical oriented Menu control with dynamic url's set in there Navigate Url property. Also i need to set the menu items as enable/disable in two different modes say edit/new.
We have to develop an application which has a Vertical left pane menu control which displays all the web pages (A,B,C say). Now if user is in page A and filled some data and clicks on menu control to go to page B, all the data in page A needs to be saved. Also if all the required field in page A are not filled and user navigated to page B, there will be one ! sign after the menu so that user can understand that there some some more fields need to be filled up.
We are planning to place the menu control in the Mater page. Please give me some direction to do this. My question is:
1. If user change menu (In Master Page), how should we save data?
2. How should we display the ! in the menu control?
