I'm using ASP.NET 3.5 Webforms. Basically, when an user causes any sort of postback (button click, switch tab, change dropdown, etc), I want the loading gif to pop up and then end right after the page completely loads. I have an ASP.NET solution (UpdateProgress) but that gets messy if you use more than one UpdatePanel. I'm not great with JQuery or Javascript, but I figured someone must have solved this problem before.

View 2 RepliesI am using a webform and trying to use a $.ajax call a webmethod on my code behind to format and return some data. It sounded easy but I need the help of an expert. Here is what I have and perhaps someone could steer me in the right direction to solving this problem. for the time being all I want the [webmethod] to return is some dummy data so the jqgrid displays, after I get it displaying correctly I will work on the data column format. So for this sample to work correctly user would open web from and click on button "Load Grid" when this is clicked it calls the the [webmethod] on the server, the sever then gets the data and passes it back to the jquery .ajax call and then it gets loaded into the jqGrid.

I want to show a show progress bar gif while loading pages.
For further information I have my pages structure as Master page and child pages.
I don't have ajax support and I am working in asp.net2.0 with vb.net.
Scenario: Loading partial views into jquery tabs(Ajax Mode) using MVC3 &Razor . Works fine in FF but not in IE8 or IE7. I can trace the ajax request & responses in firebug fine and see partial views returned from the server (containing JqGrid Html Helper methods).This loads up fine within the tab conatiners in firefox.But in IE nothing happens and i cant see any ajax requests getting fired from changing tabs when i use Fiddler.Ive tried playing around with the ajaxOptions when i initialize jq Tabs to no avail.
Ive had this problem on MVC2 and i resorted to laying the tabs contents out statically ,which i dont want this time, as i need lazy loading. Below is a full page source dump from IE8, renedered using the razor view engine. (Links to all Csss and JS libs)

I have a set of images which are subjected to display inside a usercontrol(horizontally) but while loading the page the images are displaying vertically. Only after the page completely loaded they are displaying properly. How can I use jQuery to hide the images when the page is loading and display them when the page is fully loaded. At present I am using ajax:TabContainer for the tabs. As you know that does not do Lazy loading. Can sonone give me links to or some code examples to do Tabs with Lazy loading. I know that the Jquery tabs do lazy loading but there are no complete examples on the web which tells you on how to do lazy loading with JQuery tabs.

I might be wrong about what is actually happening here but i have 3 Html.dropdownlists. And im using jquery to handle filtering which does actually work. However, there is some odd behaviour which i think might be because data isnt finished loading before the next function is called. For instance: Some background. Company: Owns several field offices Field Office: Owns several facilties So logically, when you change company, field offices should change, which then changes facilities.

This changes the field offices to the correct list, however facilities changes to whatever field offices was set to before the company change occured. I dont know enough about jquery to figure out exactly what is going on, but my instinct tells me that the two posts are happening at the same time, and the second post happens before the first one is finished.
