View 5 RepliesI know we can set autopostback property of dropdwonlist using javascript or jquery and it will go to action controller specified in Form tag.
[Code]....
but how can we set it to some different action other then what we specified in Form Tag.
Is it required to use a RESTful service to be able to make a ajax call to a wcf service (for example: by using WebInvoke attribute on Operation contracts). Once a service is made RESTful by adding a webHttp binding on the service host, can the host have other endpoints as well? (wsHttp or netTcp). Is it required that the aspNetCompatibilityEnabled be set to true for a service that has webHttp binding (and can this setting coexist for other endpoints). I understand I can use both JQuery and ScriptManager for making WCF calls on the client. Why should I use one over the other?
View 1 RepliesI'm sorting a gridview inside an update panel. When the user clicks on the column header, the gridview resorts itself fine. However, after the sort, I' like to run a javascript function called MyScript.
View 2 RepliesI my website i have 2 dopdownlost i want when i change the value of one.. The other one loads data depending on the first one value
the both of the dropdownlists is in ajax update panal and i do have script manager

View 4 RepliesI'm going on my 3rd day trying to get my Ajax AutoComplete textbox to call my web method. Based on my google searches, I'm not alone. I suspect the problem has something to do with the ServicePath property on the extender, although I'm not sure. My web service is at the same level, on the same server as my test web page. I'm not sure exactly what should go into the ServicePath property, although I think I've tried every possibility. Below is my web service followed by my script.

The following .post command in a .js file works fine in Dev and Test but not on our production box (Windows Server 2003). I believe the URL is not being found on the production box since the function(result) is not being run. Or it could be that the index method is not returning the jsonresult.

I'm working on getting a new MVC 3.0 application up and running on a Windows 2008 server, running SQL05 and IIS7 with ASP.NET Framwork 4.0 as well as MVC installed. The index page has two select boxes. Selecting an option in the first select box does an ajax call to my controller that populatest the second select box. This works just fine on my winxp dev machine but returns a 404 on the call to the controller when running
on the server. Code for that call:
<% Html.EnableClientValidation(); %>
<% using (Html.BeginForm("CamperDirectory", "TradingPost")) { %>
Select a Season: <%: Html.DropDownListFor(x => x.SelectedSeason, new SelectList(Model.GetSeasons, "Value", "Text"),"Please select a Season.") %><br /><br />
<%: Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.SelectedSeason)%>
Select a Session: <%: Html.DropDownListFor(y => y.SelectedSession, new SelectList(Model.GetSessions, "Value", "Text"), "Please select a Summercamp Session.") %>
<%: Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.SelectedSession)%>
<input type="submit" value="Go" />
<% } %>
</asp:Content>
<asp:content ID="Content3" contentplaceholderid="HeadContent" runat="server">
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">...............................
Having a ModalPopupExtender, the idea is to run a delete process from a SqlDataSource when Cancel button is clicked.
Our approach is as showed below:
<script type="text/javascript">
function deleteRec() {
alert("Call a Protected Sub btnNo_Click!");
}
</script>
<asp:ModalPopupExtender ID="Panel1_ModalPopupExtender" runat="server"
PopupControlID="Panel1" DynamicServicePath="" Enabled="True"
TargetControlID="btnFirePopup" BackgroundCssClass="modalBackground" Drag="true"
DropShadow="true" OkControlID="btnYes" CancelControlID="btnNo" OnCancelScript="deleteRec()" >
</asp:ModalPopupExtender>
Protected Sub btnNo_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Handles btnNo.Click
TempDB.Delete()
End Sub
First question: It's that correct?
Second Question: Is so, how do we call a Protected Sub from JavaScript?
I have am trying to implement a simple AutoComplete function yet i am having difficulty. It looks like the AutoComplete control is not even calling the method (webservice). If i load the webservice from the browser, i can see my Method, click on it, enter in the prefix, click on Invoke and it returns a SQL STRING. Below is the string the webservice returns.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"
?>
Since i am fresher to .net, i m unable to handle asp.net. I have call asynchronous ajax call using XMLHTTPRequest and also use QueryString to filter Employee details.
I have following files:
1. Default.aspx code
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="Task2._Default" %>
<%@ Register TagPrefix="uc1" TagName="SearchResult" Src="SearchResult.ascx" %>
[code]....
3. Ajax.aspx is empty in design
what should be the code in Default.aspx.cs when u take some text in textbox to search, OnClick of "ok" button there should'nt be any postback.
I want to make an async call to the server when an achor tag is clicked and then have the browser advance to the href without waiting for the async call to return a result. I am using System.Web.UI.ICallbackEventHandler. My server code is not executing. The server code only executes if the GetCallbackEventReference call specifies a clientscript value which means the page has to wait before advancing. What am i doing wrong?
My client code is:
<script type="text/javascript">
function ReceiveServerData(arg, context) {
}
function DoAsyncTask(arg)
{
CallServer(arg, '');
return false;
}
</script>
Scenario is, I have a tab container inside which I placed 5 tabs and each tab having 4 Cascaded dropDown.Now for changing the tab page everytime refreshed and calling all 5 parent control dropwdown to fill.But can I prevent it in that manner so that for changing the tab only that parent webmethods will be called to populate.In page load itself it will call only the active tab parent Cascading dropdown web method.
View 8 RepliesThis works in IE8 on my local machine (of course), and works on FireFox on the server, but in IE the content doesn't update unless I manually refresh the View. Here's the code:
[Code]....
So it's just some jQuery that replaces the body html with the PartialView data. As I said, this works locally no matter what, and works with FireFox from the server. I'm not sure why the content isn't updating in IE. The code is running correctly and returning the View as expected. I even slapped the cache: false on the jQuery GET so I didn't run into that delightful problem. why the MVC View isn't updating in IE?
I am trying to create a function that when a button is clicked it will pass all my records to my json page which will save my data. This is what i have so far
var t = this;
t.RecordsSave = function ($http) {
for (var i = 0; i <t.records.length; i++) {
var record=t.recordss[i];
var data = params( {
record: record.Number[i],
[Code] ....
I get the following error "params is not defined"
and "Cannot read property '0' of undefined"
How should i go about this. not familiar with angular js
make dropdown using ajax.i am going to tried .
View 3 RepliesI have this Aja.svc in my root folder
[ServiceContract(Namespace = "")]
[AspNetCompatibilityRequirements(RequirementsMode = AspNetCompatibilityRequirementsMode.Allowed)]
public class Aja
{
[WebGet]
[OperationContract]
public string Hi()
{
return "hi world!";
}
}
and I'm trying to do this: $.get('Aja.svc?method=Hi', function(d) { alert(d.d); }); In firebug I see that the result is HTTP Error 404.17 - Not Found The requested content appears to be script and will not be served by the static file handler. I use .net 3.5, jquery 1.4.4
I created a number of standard WCF Services (Service Contract and Host (svc) are in separate assemblies). I fired up a Web Site in IIS to host the Services (i.e., address is [URL]). Then in my Web Site project I added the reference. I am able to call the services normally. I am needed to call some of the services client side. Not sure if I should be looking at articles calling WCF services through AJAX, JQuery, or JSON enabled WCF Services. Some of the changes I made was adding the following to the Operation Contract:
[OperationContract]
[WebInvoke(Method = "POST", UriTemplate = "SetFoo")]
void SetFoo(string Id);
Then this above the implementation of the interface:
[AspNetCompatibilityRequirements(RequirementsMode =
AspNetCompatibilityRequirementsMode.Allowed)]
Then in the service webconfig I have this (parens are angle brackets):
<serviceHostingEnvironment aspNetCompatibilityEnabled="true">
<baseAddressPrefixFilters>
<add prefix=[URL]>>
</baseAddressPrefixFilters>
</serviceHostingEnvironment>
<serviceHostingEnvironment multipleSiteBindingsEnabled="false" />
Then in the client side I attempted this:
<asp:ScriptManagerProxy ID="ScriptManagerProxy1" runat="server">
<compositeScript>
<Scripts>
<asp:ScriptReference
Path=[URL]/>
</Scripts>
</CompositeScript>
</asp:ScriptManagerProxy>
I am attempting to call the service like this in javascript: wcfservices.SetFoo(string Id); Nothing is working. If it is idea or a better solution to call JSON enable, JQuery, etc.... I am willing to make any changes.
