C# - Return To The Same Exact Page After Posting A Form?

Mar 16, 2010

I'm posting data to a page called process.aspx that handles some business logic with the following code:

<%@ Page Language="C#" %>
<%
MyData.process(Request);
Response.Redirect("")
%>

this page I will be calling from a variety of pages. Is there some way of knowing from which page my form was submitted? I was thinking something along the lines of writing:

<form id="frmSystem" method="post" action="process.aspx?page=<%= %>">

However I don't know what to write in between the <%= %> to get the current page name.

MVC :: Posting Form Data From Multiple Partial Views On The Same Page?

Feb 8, 2011

I have view that dynamically adds multiple partial views with a foreach statement with the standard <%Html.RenderPartial("partialName", model); %> . The partial view control has just a label and textbox control. When I view the source html generated it correctly has a single form control around all the multiple labels and textboxes. My single submit button, inside the form though does not send any of the form data back to the controller though when using FormCollection.

Web Forms :: Content Page Retrieve Info From Master Page Form?

Dec 7, 2010

I have a master page with a form on it. It's a people search form. When the user clicks on the search button it goes to the search results page that uses the same master page. With the code below I get the info off the master of the current page. Howdo I grab that info from the first page?
Here's the code:

Master page:

< FORM id=formEmpSearch method=post action=~/About/peopleSearch.aspx runat="server">
< asp:TextBox style="WIDTH: 153px; HEIGHT: 12px" id=txtSearchName onfocus="this.value=''" runat="server" CssClass="searchBox">

Master Code Behind page:

Imports System
Imports System.Web.UI
Imports System.Web.UI.WebControls
Partial Class mstrIntranet
Inherits System.Web.UI.MasterPage
Public Property mSearchName()
Get
Return txtSearchName.tex
End Get
Set(ByVal value)
txtSearchName.text = value
End Set
End Property

Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
txtSearchName.Text = "People Search"
End Sub End Class

Search Results Code Behind page:

Partial Class PeopleSearch2
Inherits System.Web.UI.Page
Public SearchName As String

Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
Dim mpTextbox As TextBox
mpTextbox = CType(Master.FindControl("txtSearchName"), TextBox)
SearchName = mpTextbox.Text

Put 4 Links In The Sidebar Of Master Page Which Every Other Form (content Page) In Web Application Inherits - C# / Visual Studio 2008

Apr 3, 2011

I want to have 4 links in the sidebar of master page which every other form (content page) in my web application inherits.

<table>
<tr>
<td width= "150px">
<asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="ContentPlaceHolder1" runat="server">
<asp:Menu runat="server" ID="MainMenu1" CssClass="MasterContent" StaticSubMenuIndent="30px">
<Items>
<asp:MenuItem Text="My Software" NavigateUrl="~/MySoftware.aspx"></asp:MenuItem>
<asp:MenuItem Text="Check Out" NavigateUrl="~/CheckOut.aspx"></asp:MenuItem>
<asp:MenuItem Text="View Shopping Cart" NavigateUrl="~/ShoppingCart.aspx"></asp:MenuItem>
<asp:MenuItem Text="Continue Shopping" NavigateUrl="~/Start.aspx"></asp:MenuItem>
</Items>
</asp:Menu>
</asp:ContentPlaceHolder>
</td>
<td width="900px">
<asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="ContentPlaceHolder2" runat="server">
</asp:ContentPlaceHolder>
</td>
</tr>
</table>

This is the content in the master page as you can see there are 4 menu items i tried to form as sidebar and i tried to inherit in home.aspx(one of the content pages) as follows:

<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="Start.aspx.cs" Inherits="WebStore._Start"
MasterPageFile="~/Webstore.Master" %>
<asp:Content ID="StartSideBar" runat="server" ContentPlaceHolderID="ContentPlaceHolder1">

But unfortunately the sidebar is not at all getting displayed. I know i'm doing fundamentally wrong some where. My intention is to have web pages to have sidebar like this. It is a screenshot of my intended page.

Accessing Form Control From A Master Page

Sep 29, 2012

I have a master page, sub master page and content page. The master page has a form control which both masters can access by name alone:

Code:
<form id="form1" runat="server">

The content page contains a contact form, with the form tags removed as they conflict with the form tags on the master.

What I want to do now is access form1 on the content page so I can change its properties for use in the contact form. I'm not sure if this is how its done in ASP? Anyway, here's how I've tried to:

Code:
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
Dim f As Control = CType(Master.FindControl("form1"), Control)
f.Action = Request.Url.ToString()
f.Name = "contactForm"
f.Method = IsPostBack
End Sub

Web Forms :: Using Cross - Posting And Master Pages In 3.5 Site?

Jul 30, 2010

I have an interesting issue I have racked my brain trying to find a solution to.

I have a site with a single master page. Part of that master page is a text field and button. They are not part of a content placeholder, they are simply part of the master page, itself, and are intended to allow people to search the site from any page on the site.

So, all search requests are routed to a search.aspx page, regardless. I am doing this by setting the PostBackUrl attribute of the button control to "search.aspx".

This all works great, except when I try to use this search capability from the search.aspx page, itself. I figure this is because I am using the Page.PreviousPage object and since a postback from the search.aspx page, itself will result in the Page.PreviousPage being Nothing, it is not performing the proper action.

Hiding All Panels On A Web Content Form Within A Master Page

May 7, 2010

I'm trying to hide all panels on a page, when a button click occurs.

This is on a web content form, within a master page.

The contentplageholder is named: MainContent

So I have:

foreach (Control c in Page.Form.FindControl("MainContent").Controls) {
if (c is Panel) {
c.Visible = false;
}
}

This never find any panels. The panels are within an Update Panel, and I tried

foreach(Control c in updatePanel.Controls) { }

and this didn't work either. I also tried :

foreach(Control c in Page.Controls) { }

and that didn't work either.

AJAX :: ModalPopupExtender Posting To Wrong Form

Feb 4, 2010

I have a page with two forms on it. The first form is a "Search" form and does not have the runat="server" attribute. It is merely meant to post some search criteria to another page on the site. The second form is the standard "aspnetForm". Inside that form I have a ModalPopupExtender... Within the ModalPopupExtender there are two buttons that should postback to the server when they are clicked by the user. My problem is that when the buttons are clicked the page posts back to the "Search" form... The only clue I have is that if I move the form to the bottom of the page (after my ModalPopupExtender), everything works fine. It seems that the extender uses the first form it can find on the page. Is there anyway to force it to postback to the correct form?

User Control Is Not Posting Its Form Values

Mar 14, 2011

I have a user control I am adding dynamically. It has a link button and a text area on it. The containing div is hidden via style sheet (client side), and I use some jquery to pop it up in a modal. It is getting added in the init and the button click event is firing on the server. BUT the textareas value is not being set. On further inspection the field value is not even being sent in the form POST data. why the value is not being sent. The rest of the form values are being sent with no problems.

MVC :: Login Form On Master Page Causing Endless Loop

Nov 15, 2010

I am having trouble with my login form. In the current design I have a login ascx which I am trying to use for the user to login from both the home page (as a box on the left) and on the login page that I will use as part of a checkout process.My login.ascx is a partial view using straight out of the box code for simplicity...

[Code]....

What I am trying to achieve sounded rather simple until I tried to implement it. I can get the login page to come right up if I use Html.EditorForModel rather than Html.RenderPartial, but I can't use Html.EditorForModel on my main page because the main page isn't bound to a model.

What I would like is to show login form on main page. If login fails show the validation summary just like on the Login view. I could live with the user being redirected to the login view, but this wasn't what I had in mind.

Web Forms :: Posting Form Data And Receiving Response?

Sep 3, 2010

I have an application that needs to post data to a url on the web and then receive an xml response. I have an HTML form (provided by vendor) that posts the data correctly, however when clicking the submit button the page is redirected to the post url and the xml is displayed in the browser. I need to do this on a postback within an existing asp.net project. Basically, the user will fill out the form, the form data will post to the url, the xml response will be received, and the appropriate values will be displayed on the screen. I've found a bunch of examples for doing this but I just can't seem to get my head around it. Can anyone point me in the right direction or explain how I should go about this?
