Maintain User Entered Text In TextBox
Feb 15, 2011I have an ASP.Net UpdatePanel that updates on a timer. Within the UpdatePanel and nested in a GridView, I have a TextBox that the user enters a value in with a submit button. Everything works fine, except if the user does not submit the value before the timed interval, the text is removed from the TextBox. Is there a way to persist the user entry into the TextBox between updates? Is there a better way of doing this?

Feb 19, 2010Here is what I'm trying to achieve: The user enters in the textbox a date. It can be:
20.04.2010 or 20/04/2010 or
01Apr2010 or Apr 01 2010...
Any other formats should be forbidden. When the user leaves the textbox then the date should be displayed as 01-Apr-2009. I already tried but I got only when am entering the numbers only like (21-04-2010) but I want to entering the string like apr, jan, nov .

Now what i want is when user input the value it should check the FACEVALUE and see if the entered value is not above the FACEVALUE and then need to Input value - FACEVALUE and result should be displayed in REMAINING field which is also a template field as label control.

I've a asp.net form and user enters some data in the text boxes provided. Whenever user submits the form, browser will save that form data. I don't want this form data to be saved in browser. How can I restrict the browser saving this form data without touching the browser settings?
Application is developed using asp.net and normal text boxes are used here.

This page also contains a text box and a button, the idea being that the user can then filter the data by entering a value in the text box and clicking on the button to pass the new parameter to the datasource.
However, I cannot get this to work, I know it has something to do with 'IsPostback', but I am at a loss. I have tried variations of the following in the code behind page but to no avail.

Aug 9, 2010I'm trying to create a Formview in ASP.net 3.5. The underlying SQL Server table does not have an identity field based Primary Key. The primary key is a 4 character user entered field. I have created the form and all looks good but I get the following error message when I try to insert a record
Could not find a row that matches the given keys in the original values stored in ViewState. Ensure that the 'keys' dictionary contains unique key values that correspond to a row returned from the previous Select operation.
I thought ViewState was supposed to resolve the issue. I have viewstate enabled on the page and the formview but that doesn't seem to make a difference.
How can I create a form view with a user-entered text field as the primary key and get the b.... thing to work?
