Forms Data Controls :: Repeater Textboxes - Unable To Fetch The Values Of Textboxes

Aug 11, 2010

I have a repeater which is binded using a Collection of Entity Data Framework.

Once the repeater is binded using the datasource, the user can control the no of rows present in the repeater using a Dropdown list on the page. For ex: if datasource has 2 rows, user want to add 3 more rows, user selects 5 from dropdown, which adds 3 additional rows to the Repeater. I am able to do this.

The repeater has textbox controls in each row. Now once the user enter the values in this textbox of the newly generated rows, the user can save the values entered with the no of rows specified.

I have a button which is outside the repeater and on click of this i need to validate all the textbox values and save them into dB accordingly.

Here is my code

Repeater.aspx

[Code]....

[Code]....

Repeater.aspx.cs

[Code]....

Right now the problem is im not able to fetch the values of the textboxes present in the newly generated rows.

MVC :: GetJson Not Called In A Web Application?

Apr 13, 2010

I am trying to make my ASP.NET MVC 2 application working from a test server.

Since I am using IIS 6 in my test server, I have to define in the Global.asax.cs file:

routes.MapRoute(
"Default", // Route name
===> "{controller}.aspx/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters
new
{
controller = "Home",
action = "Index",
id = UrlParameter.Optional
} // Parameter defaults
);

This complicates the correct definition of the URL in my getJson() calls for my site production version.

When running my site from the test server, I found using Fiddler that the URL reguested by the browser

for getJson() calls is:

/Controller.aspx/Controller Method

which is correct, but probably, not the complete necessary path for getJson() to work.

I think that this is the reason for getJson() calls to give "Page Not Found(404)" in Fiddler and a syntax error in FireBug and to be skipped completely when trying to execute. Of my understanding the complete path should be:

/My Site/Controller.aspx/Controller Method

I use jQuery 1.4.2.

MVC :: Get Values From Textboxes?

Jun 6, 2010

how do I do the most simplest thing like get the values from textboxes in a form and bind them to my lets say product or whatever object?

I work with MVC 2 and NHibernate. I seen some examples where they work with linq 2 sql and what they do is just save the product in the controller like _repository.Save(product);

they use active record and is that why that is possible? And in this example they use on the beginform like this

Controller Method Not Always Called From $.getJSON Request?

Mar 9, 2010

I have a controller method that returns a jSON object and in one calling situation, it works and in another calling situation, it does not work. When the URL in my browser is this:

http://localhost:65247/Client -- it works.

But, when my url looks like this:

http://localhost:65247/Client/UserAdmin?id=6 -- it DOES NOT work

In a nutshell, clients have users. From within the client, I wish to work on a specific user (this is the UserAdmin view). In this case, the client id is 6. From within the UserAdmin view that was launched with Id=6, I then wish to select a user from a dropdown. The idea was to use javascript and $.getJSON to fetch data for the specific user so as not to have to refresh the entire page. I use this approach in other parts of the app. The only difference I can see is with the URL in the browser. It would appear the presence of parameters via the '?' is futzing things up a bit.

Web Forms :: Compare Date Values In TextBoxes?

May 11, 2012

I have a textbox and the date needs to be in between two dates.  I want a popup message to display when they are out of those parameters.  I don't want to use the Validator's because they make you put in a date to move forward.

One option is if I do use them is it anyway to add "out of date parameters" when they don't meet those dates then move to the next question?

Another option would be to just check the date, give an error message and move to the next question.  Is it possible to do either one of these?

$.getJSON Back Button Showing Jason Return Data Not The Page?

Jan 10, 2010

I have a little issue with my site. I have a page that hosts a google map. However the map does not get shown until the user clicks a button. It then call $.getJSON to get the addresses that i need to show on the map...

$.getJSON(theurl, function(json) {
...
}

It all works fine. However if the user then moves to a different page and then clicks the Back button they get the data from the $.getJSON call displayed, not the page itself. It's as if the call to get the addresses has become part of the browsing history. If the user hits refresh when the data appears the full page then gets displayed.Can anyone tell me how to stop this from happening.I'm using the googlemap in an ASP.Net MVC site.
