i have a model:

and in my controller, i have:
[Code]....
and this ViewData contains the information of a type of List<SelectListItem>,which can be used to generate a dropdownlist in the view later on. BUT, now i want to write a function in my controller to generate List<SelectListItem> based on different input enum, what like want to do is like this:

however, there are so many errors.

but in my view i keep having this eror
"The value 'System.Collections.Generic.List`1[MyEnum]' is not valid for Enumlist"
I did not specify any validation attribute for the property EnumList, so i don't why the automatic error.

I am populating a page with controls reading properties of a class using reflection. If the property type is 'String' I will add a text-box. If the property type is enum I am adding a dropdownlist. Now I have to populate the dropdown options with enums. How can this be done?
Both the enum definition class(Assignment) and the class(classOne) using which I am populating the page with controls are in the same Namespace(MySolution.Data). While looping through classOne properties when the property name is 'SkillLevel' I will have to go to assignment class get the members of enum SkillLevelEnum and populate the dropdown.
Same needs to be done for other dropdowns also.
My Code:

I would like to write a function to reuse some functionality that I repeat over and over...

What's changing, in every field, is only the lambda function to get the current field to edit (Name, City, Address, etc...).

I am trying to change the text of a asp:textbox and collapse some ajaxToolkit:CollapsiblePanelExtenders within some ascx controls on my page as well as output a dynamically generated file. I have no problem collapsing the CollapsiblePanelExtenders and changing the text of the textbox from the codebehind or outputting a file. The problem arises when I want BOTH of these events to happen on the same postback. Unfortunately using Response.Write negates all of the other changes to the page.

I'm trying to generate a block of HTML code using a VB.net function. I created a function in a class. THe function generates a string that contains html and a strValue that I would like displayed.
public shared function getMyHTML(strValue) return string
str1 = "<table><tr><td><%=strValue%></td></tr></table>"

I added a call to this function in the page_Load event to generate a string on the page. In the aspx page, I have the following code:
<% =stValue %>
The string value passed to the function appears on the page, but none of the html or formatting that is passed. When I view the page using View source, all the HTML is there exactly as it should be. I read this may have something to do with viewstate. But don't know what to use and where to place it to override it.

The check digit calculation uses the standard method. Suppose you want to calculate the check digit for ID number 10614141192837465.
Step One: From the right to left, start with odd position, assign the odd/even position to each digit.

Step Three: Sum all digits in even position.

Step Five: Divide the result of step four by 10. The check digit is the number which adds the remainder to 10. In our case, divide 123 by 10 we get the remainder 3. The check digit then is the result of
10-3=7.

I'm new to C# and ASP and can't seem to figure out how to write a function to return a CSS Class name.
Here's what I have so far:
In "MyWeb.master" I have a line that reads:
<asp:HyperLink ID="HyperLink1" text="xxxxx"
cssClass='<%# MyCssStyle("ddd") %>'
NavigateUrl="http://www.RDRR.com/Catalog.aspx?TribeID=1"
runat="server" />
And in "MyWeb.master.cs" I have a routine within the partial class that reads:

This code does not throw an error, but neither does it return a value. What have I missed?

We have two database called First(Application) and Last(Workflow) I am submitting a Personal injury report which contains Date of Accident,time,eventID,eventDate,etc.
After submitted the button, these values in insert one of the database(First). At the same time few above column values in insert on another database(Last). Now i want to write a function to insert these values (selected values from both the tables) into new table in First Database.
Because we are adding new tables for audit purpose. User are saying their report are missing. that y we are inserting new table.
