MVC :: Integrate Document Management Library 3rd Party Control
Mar 7, 2011
I want to intergrate Document Management Library into my mvc application. so is there any Document Management Library 3rd party control or service available. so i can easily intergrate it into my site.
In my present project i have to convert some file formats into PDF.The source file formats may be MSOffice(.doc,.docx,.xls,.xlsx,.ppt,.pptx) and Images(.jpg,.png,.jpeg,.tiff).We wish not to use any third party library.The code should be in c#.
Can you recommend a library/SDK which allows me to quickly integrate Facebook Login (using the latest oAuth 2.0 standards adopted by facebook) with my website? I also want to access information from facebook using the GRAPH API and was wondering which is the best library/SDK for that?
The important thing here is to use the latest API by facebook and I am looking for recommendations to a C# library which makes it easy to do that?
I have to implement image processing in a web application. I want to use Opencv library for it. but the problem is how i integrate this library in my web application? I added a project in my web application in which i implement the code for image processing. But the class of project in which i implement the code for image processing is not accessble in web form.How i access that class in my web form?
Sometime earlier this week i saw a reference to a commercial library (think was priced at 299) that wrapped up all the various GoogleDocs family of services - have lost the link. I've searched codeplex and VS's Library Manager without joy.I'm aware of Google's sdk but would prefer working with a higher abstraction - though a verbose kickstarter project that integrates gData to an asp.net datatier would be nice.
Being new to integrating sharepoint documents into web applications I am struggling with the following task, so anyI have a page in my web application that needs to display a document from sharepoint.I use the appropiate sharepoint web service to get a list of all the documents in the sharepoint list, I then pick out the one I would like to retrieve and get the path to the document so i would end up with something like:
Company%20Hire/Hire%20Site%20Price%20Lists/0.pdf Within our network I can do following: iframePdf.Attributes[ "src"] = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["SharepointUrl"] + _filePath;
This would display the document in iframe... problem I have is coming from outside the network the sharepoint site can't be accessed (due to firewalls etc). We do have a vpn back to our network on the external server our web application sits on. If i was to use the document url in a browser on the server I am prompted for credentials and then get to view the document.Is there a way for the web application to use the vpn, use credentials i give (e.g through impersonation) to access the document and display it to exernal clients?
how to adding a file to the sharepoint document library? I found some articles in net. but i didn't get the complete concept of the same. Now i uploaded a file without metadata by using this code.
[Code]....
This code is working as fine. But i need to upload file with meta data. I created 3 columns in my Document library..
In my website I m using third party cookies i.e. when i logged in then I m accepting cookies from third party through javascript.
Now all done well in firefox and other browser except IE. After doing some r & d i found that default settigs from IE doesn't allow accept third party cookies.So after settings "Allow All Cookies" problem is solved. But now my concern is that is there any way that end user do not have to settings manually in IE ?
I basically have quite a large site collection with various site and sub sites that all contain their own document libraries. I need to change the default view of each document library to include the following fields:
Checked out to.
Check in comments.
This is ok as I have written an app that will loop through all existing lists and do this however is there a way I can change the template for a document library so that any future lists that are created will automatically contain these two fields in the their default view?
Is there a .Net open source library to convert the word dococument to HTML to display inside the webpage.
I know several tools to convert word docs to html files, but my requirements is to convert the doc(either from the file or just extracted text) to HTML on the fly in the ASP.Net application.
I found the converting-a-word-document-into-usable-html-in-php PHP library do the same thing, is there any similar tool in .net?
I am using webclient object to download a file to a windows folder from a sharepoint document library. The credentials I am passing to the webclient object are that of site collection administrator. everything works fine while i test it by uploading a file to the document library. But since the document library is email enabled; when an email is received the file is not transferred to the windows folder. i have put some workflow history events to see which user account is used when the email is received. the user account shown is the network service account. I have given write permissions on the folder to all the users; Everyone, Network service, the site collection administrator user etc. but still i cant figure out what is the problem.
We have created an ASP.NET web app that upload files to WSS Doc Libary. The files get added under 'SYSTEM ACCOUNT' in the library. The FullTextSqlQuery class is used to search the document libary items. But it only searches files that has been uploaded by a windows user account like 'Administrator' and ignores the ones uploaded by 'SYSTEM ACCOUNT'. As a result the search results are empty even though we have the necessary data in the document library. What could be the reason for this? The code is given below:
public static List GetListItemsFromFTSQuery(string searchText) { string docLibUrl = "http://localhost:6666/Articles%20Library/Forms/AllItems.aspx"; List items = new List(); DataTable retResults = new DataTable(); SPSecurity.RunWithElevatedPrivileges(delegate { using (SPSite site = new SPSite(docLibUrl)) { SPWeb CRsite = site.OpenWeb(); SPList ContRep = CRsite.GetListFromUrl(docLibUrl); FullTextSqlQuery fts = new FullTextSqlQuery(site); fts.QueryText = "SELECT Title,ContentType,Path FROM portal..scope() WHERE freetext('" + searchText + "') AND (CONTAINS(Path,'"" + ContRep.RootFolder.ServerRelativeUrl + ""'))"; fts.ResultTypes = ResultType.RelevantResults; fts.RowLimit = 300; if (SPSecurity.AuthenticationMode != System.Web.Configuration.AuthenticationMode.Windows) fts.AuthenticationType = QueryAuthenticationType.PluggableAuthenticatedQuery; else fts.AuthenticationType = QueryAuthenticationType.NtAuthenticatedQuery; ResultTableCollection rtc = fts.Execute(); if (rtc.Count > 0) { using ( ResultTable relevantResults = rtc[ResultType.RelevantResults]) retResults.Load(relevantResults, LoadOption.OverwriteChanges); foreach (DataRow row in retResults.Rows) { if (!row["Path"].ToString().EndsWith(".aspx")) //if (row["ContentType"].ToString() == "Item") { using ( SPSite lookupSite = new SPSite(row["Path"].ToString())) { using (SPWeb web = lookupSite.OpenWeb()) { SPFile file = web.GetFile(row["Path"].ToString()); items.Add(file.Item); } } } } } } //using ends here }); return items; }
have few doubts running though my mind which I want to clear. Here is my scenariolet's say I want to create a website for library management.I need to have registration page where I will allow users to register and login. My doubt is : After login how do I restrict users from accessing only the authorized page ? also I need to make sure that they should not access pages by entering the url directly without authentication ? i don't want to use the login controls provided in asp.net by default.
How do we code "findcontrol" with a third party control? I tried "TextBox" for Namespace="FreeTextBoxControls" Assembly="FreeTextBox" and it threw an error:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Here is the offending line:
Dim Body As String = Convert.ToString(CType(lsvBlocks.InsertItem.FindControl("FreeTextBox"), TextBox).Text)
I know it's possible to use this information in a winform, wpf or console application. But I rather to determine which user with what roles are running a sepecific method, so I could decide upon them and run different codes. In addition in a desktop app. how a user can login? Is there any special winform or wpf login control?
I am using Enterprise Library 5.0 - for exception handling. I am logging the exceptions in trace log file.When I publish the webapplication and deploy from my development machine IIS it works fine. When I deploy the same build on Windows Server 2003 R2 Service pack 2 it causes logout.Earlier I was using website for same application (We coverted website to webapplication due to some reasons) and I faced same problem while placing code on server. But when I published and kept the (published) precompiled code on server, logout problem resolved. But now with webapplication after publishing the problem exists.
While debuging I found that during exception logging due to session time out it is logging out. But why session time out on server when same thing work better on developement system IIS. Please suggest if I have to do any setting on server or any other solution.
I have a web application in asp.net 3.5 where i have been using some third party controls i.e. Devexpresv9.2 and on the pages where i am using these controls i normally has to call the register tag on the page markup like for ex:
Now i have updated the version of devexpress controls installed on my machine and it has stopped working because the version installed on my machine is v10.0 but my code is looking for v9.2 how can i modify my code in such a way that in future if i install another version then i don't have to modify all the pages and references again.
I have a web report(.aspx page). I like to have a functionality to export that report into pdf format. Is there any way I can export it to PDF format without using any third party control or product? Or any other way I can use report viewer control's export feature in web page and hiding report viewer control?
I am using Asp.net 3.5. In my application I am handling errors at application level in Global.asax. I am using 3rd party control FpSpread in my application. In all the pages where I've that control, it's throwing "File does not exist" error when first time postback occurs in IE (on every postback in FF). From the log I got following Details:
04/01/2010 11:32:18 : The error description is as follows : [URL] Type- System.Web.HttpException Message- File does not exist. Stack Trace- at System.Web.StaticFileHandler.GetFileInfo(String virtualPathWithPathInfo, String physicalPath, HttpResponse response) at System.Web.StaticFileHandler.ProcessRequestInternal(HttpContext context) at System.Web.DefaultHttpHandler.BeginProcessRequest(HttpContext context, AsyncCallback callback, Object state) at System.Web.HttpApplication.CallHandlerExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() at System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously) Targetsite- System.IO.FileInfo GetFileInfo(System.String, System.String, System.Web.HttpResponse)
It is trying to refer wrong URL because my css is in App_Themes/Blue directory and my page is in /Forms/Company directory. Has anyone encountered similar issue before?? Is this the issue related to theme?? I am not trying to load any images programmatically.
I want to build a custom document management web application that ties in with sharepoint for the actual document versioning and storage. I'm hoping for something like a sharepoint widget that I can plug into my web application that would allow me to tie in with sharepoint and download documents, make edits to them, and upload them back to sharepoint, with sharepoint handling all of the versioning and storage. Basically I'm looking for a sharepoint API. If WSS is the answer to this, are there licensing issues that I need to consider?
I have a custom DDL that lives in my Server control library. Currently I add this control to a table by strongly typing the name of the control, the customary way.
Control_Library.Report_NumberDDL newDDL = new Control_Library.Report_NumberDDL();
What I want to be able to do is dynamically create that control by pulling the control name from a table. So I would have the name of the control in my code, in this case "Report_NumberDDL", and I would like to then create the control without having to strongly type it.
Something like this, though I know this doesn't work:
string controlName = "Report_NumberDDL";
Control_Library."controlName" controlNum1 = new Control_Library."controlName"();
Edit:I tried to do this:
Type type = Type.GetType("Control_Library.Report_NumberDDL"); object control = Activator.CreateInstance(type);
But on the CreateInstance(type) I get a null value exception. So the Type isn't getting created correctly.
i want to use session to store some information for a form(ascx and ascx.cs file) im using asp.net, c#, and visual studio 2005 , i included "using System.Web.SessionState;" but session is not a key word in visual studio intellisense. and also, i researched a little and found that many people are using "using System.Web.SessionState.HttpSessionState;" and the HttpSessionState is not in the intellisense as well. so which other classes or libraries should i using in order to use session?
