i'm using asp.net MVC 2.0 , now i want to use a grid view in my applicationbut i don't want to use the third party control. my data contained in a datatable. so i want to bind this datatable with the gridview.

View 1 RepliesIt happened to add an extra Gridveiw Header in row_databound event , It did worked fine on !Postback but disappered on Page.Postback . Quick google search guided me to move the event to Row_Created event and every thing is okay .

i.e i had taken the alias names for that fields so that i will bind the only 3 columns to grid view as opendate,closedate,awarddate.

here i had taken the same alias names as i have to bind only 3 columns to gridview.when i run my application i am getting the records in data table with column names as opendate,closedate,awarddate,opendate1,closedate1,awarddate1.i.e it does not allow the same alias name.
for two radio button conditions i.e for manufacturer and distributor the gridview binded with opendate,closedate and awarddate columns as i had binded the gridview boundfields withat names.
but when user select the distributor radiobutton i have to bind the opendate1,closedate1 and awarddate1 to the gridview. for that should i can i change the storedproc are any other solution is there?
I retrieving user selected values from my first page with session.
I need to list product details whcih user selected separately. I mean if user selected
Products 1,5,7 Second page listing product details separately 1,5,7 in gridview1, gridview2, gridview3.
Problem is when ever i try to bind the gridview using the Sql data source and calling SP.
Its not displaying anything on the screen, where as i tested the SP, its working fine.
But when i write the Select statement in Sql data source... Its working fine.

In My project i want to use the mvccontrib [URL] to auto generate grid by passing the DataTable to the Grid. Currently Grid does not support this. Grid takes IEnumerable(Of T) and auto generate columns. Is their any way i can achieve this by passing DataTable. Or How do i convert the DataTable to IEnumerable(Of T). My DataTable is completely Dynamic i don't know number of columns or names of the columns at design time. DataTable completely dynamic number of columns are not fixed it just any DataTable. In Short i want to convert Dynamic DataTable to IEnumerable(Of T). Or Is their any better way.
1) One way i tried is using .net 4.0 Dynamic, DynamicObject and ExpandoObject I created a dynamic class as shown here [URL]. I trid passing IEnumerable(Of SampleDynamicObject) but BuildColumns() method is not able to find out the proprieties dynamically added on to it.
2) I think Second way to modify the AutoGenerateColumns() method to work with DataTable, But it looks impossible as Grid Get initialize using IEnumerable(Of T) and all the call on grid for method is using IEnumerable(Of T). So it's come down to converting DataTable to IEnumerable(Of T) and my DataTable are dynamic i don't know their structure at design time So i can't write any specific class to create a object and convert DataTable to IEnumerable(Of T).

My DataTable is programatically generated, and contains objects of type JobInstance in the cells.

When I bind this DataTable to an ASP GridView, it only displays the first column. But if I remove the "typeof(Job)" when creating the column (the line with // !!!), the GridView displays all the columns by showing the result of JobInstance.ToString() in the cells. However, I have no access to the underlying JobInstance object, only the string values that are being displayed.
I need access to the JobInstance object when displaying the GridView (for example in the OnRowDataBound), because I want to access the fields inside JobInstance for each cell to determine formatting options, and add other links in each cell.
I have a data table, in one of the column, I will have this data, I will bind the data table to a grid view. I was hoping that this column change to a hyperlink. But, it was display the entire text.

The Add template is located outside the grid view and if user clicks on the button, it will load the grid view that is populated with data as there is a row of empty fields at the bottom. So for a csv file what is the sequence to read in for example c:datademo.csv
What would the connection string be.
Also can you specifiy a different delimiter.

This is driving me nutty... I have a gridview on a page. On the same page is a web user control with several public properties. Using the gridview's selectedindexchanging event, I try to set the user control property, but it's always null. Like this:
