Mobiles :: Create Applications For Android And WM6 Devices?

I currently use VS2008 and VS2010 for web applications and would like to start looking at creating apps for both OS'sMajority of the apps will be for myself and wifes phone, so want to play around with what can be done.
I am wanting to design a web application (ASP.NET with vs 2010 and the 4 framework) that should work on mobile devices web browsers as well. Do I have to write 2 seperate web UI's or can I write 1, that is styled differently for desktop browsing vs mobile browsing? I am new to trying to develope for a mobile device, and a push in the right direction would be a big help. I have googled but must not be using the right terms as what I get is not very good.
I'm creating a optimized web page for mobile devices with C#. Is there a way to offer a page for larger screens and one for smaller screens on android devices? With Apple i can differentiate between iPad and iPhone, but how can I do this with the galaxy tab or a regular android phone?I don't want to use any javascript in this case.
i have deployed a simple chat project using Signalr which is working on desktop website successfully, but when i open the webpage in mobile it is not working at all. does SignalR works in mobile site??
need to create a simple mobile application for my college project using asp.net.The problem is in MVS Create New Project Option.... the Smart Device Sub option, there are only 3 options Pocket PCSmartphoneWindows CEand my teacher has asked us to create applications (not WAP related) that must work on ANY multimedia phone not just MICROSOFT's high end phone (like the one i have Nokia 5130)
I would like to truncate my existing website for use with mobile devices specifically the iphone. how might I accomplish this? Are there MS tools or methodolgies for truncating my site without building a new website from scratch?
I like to begin the develop of a smartphone application. I am using VS 2008, when I followe the step of creating a new project I have to pick the Tarjet Plataform, but this list is only for Windows, How I develop for other plataforma like Android, symbiam, etc.
I would like to take our current mobile website and redesign it for iPhone use. All of the code on our website is currently run server-side and is split up in multiple pages, but I would like to get all the client-side features like transition animations and iPhone-like buttons that jQTouch offers. Assume we have three different ASP.NET web applications in our intranet, that all of them have a login page and after authenticating user create a cookie for authenticated user. Is it available to have one page as a login page and create that three application's cookie from here and then redirect user to demanded application?

I'm trying to learn Visual Web Developer 2008 and web site design. I have created a website with a 'contact us' section and it is working fine. On this page I have appx 6 Input text boxes but lots of graphics and such on the page. I'm trying to figure out how to get started building a simple version of the same page so that blackberries, android, iphone, etc... could fill out and submit the form. I don't want anything fancy on the form, just labels and text boxes.

Without using MySQL, I'm looking for a free (open source) DBMS.I found Firebird and and Postgresql, but I'm not sure about them; Is there any other powerful DBMS you've already used in this case ?
