I am working on windows Mobile 6. I have created Mobile Application which is receiving data from webservice. Web service is working on Development End and also in UK on Mobile Device. Same application is tried from Dubai to recieve same data but an error occured to receive data. What could be problem? Application from Dubai is accessing My PC service but server at Germany is not accessible. Is there ant blockage issue from server to specific Global IP. User is accesing using Wi Fi.

I'm working on a project that has a C# app (running 24/7 as a server) on the client's machine). This app needs to send a file as a byte stream via POST to a server I am currently hosting on my home desktop.
Can this file be received by a C# app running on my server, or does it have to be as ASP app/page?
Also, I know how to send a bytestream via POST, but how will I set my server side app to listen for this incoming data? I have never done something like this, so I'm looking for some pointers to get me started.

I have implemented a generic handler to work as a restful web service in ASP.Net. I have a problem receiving the XML file that is being posted to this web service. I cannot actually see anything being passed. I have gone through the form, querystring, and file properties of the request object. Everything is empty. I know that the file has been posted correctly because I can see it while using a port sniffer.
How can I access this file?

- a user submits a form from cfm page, then cfm page transfers data to asp.net(C#) page

I am working on a client - server application and in which I used to send and receive data through SOAP web service.
Now after sometimes I have heard from someone that I might lost some data while this process on soap service created in ASP.net. So now I have decided to send and receive data through batches like first I will send List of 50 objects and then next 50 and so on...
Now I am new to web services and all.
So my question is "Is it true that we can lost some data sometimes while transferring it through SOAP web service?"

I have an application that needs to post data to a url on the web and then receive an xml response. I have an HTML form (provided by vendor) that posts the data correctly, however when clicking the submit button the page is redirected to the post url and the xml is displayed in the browser. I need to do this on a postback within an existing asp.net project. Basically, the user will fill out the form, the form data will post to the url, the xml response will be received, and the appropriate values will be displayed on the screen. I've found a bunch of examples for doing this but I just can't seem to get my head around it. Can anyone point me in the right direction or explain how I should go about this?

I don't know if it has to be with my application but the thing is that I created a registration form, when the user registers an automatic mail from my mail account at my hosting site is send to the mail account the user input.
The code is working I have tested it with a Hotmail and Yahoo account but Gmail is not receiving.
It is important to say that Hotmail and Yahoo receive the email at the junk mail folder, but Gmail not receives it in any folder. I check my mail account for bouncebacks but there is no problem.
If I change the code to send mails from my gmail account no matter what mail account the user inputs it will receive the mail. I've already contacted my hosting site support but they say they can't find any problem.
I've already waited 48 hours because maybe gmail account would take longer to receive the email but I haven't received it.

I am receiveing this error. On this line:
DataRow dr = GetCurrentEvents(int.Parse(Request.QueryString["ScheduleID"]));
ScheduleID is an int in my stored procedure. SoI inserted the (int.Parse) But now I get that error. How can I convert an int into the QueryString.?If I take out the (int.Parse) The method I have calling the above. Its something like:

}
If I change it to (string ScheduleID). I get a different error bc I'm trying to convert an nvarchar to an int...

I am having an aspx page with controls as textbox ,tables ,checkbox etc .I need to convert the webpage to pdf file by a button click .I am using Itextsharp in it. when the button click event fires it shows the error as Font size too small: 0 near htmlparser.Parse(sr);
So how to rectify it .the code used for button click is :

I am using forms authentication and authorization through roleManager. I have two Roles - "Customers" and "Employees". The redirection to the default page for the "Customers" role is working fine, but I get an oledb error stating that one or more parameters are not being passed when I redirect a user from the "Employees" role. I've created a small website with a simple sqlite database using vwd 2010 .net 4. In dev and test envionments everything works fine, however when i promote to my hosting provider i receive the following error:
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections.
(provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)
I've been configuring the connection strings (autogenerated from entity framework and attached db) but unable to get it working on the hosting provider, I'm assuming it's related to permissions but not entirely sure how to resolve - here's the web.config as it stands:

For info the environments are set up as follows:
- Dev environment is vwd express 2010 with sqlite mdf attached

I'm using ASP.Net MVC Design pattern and when adding a controller to my application I'm receiving the below error. I added the controller called EmailMeController.cs in the Controllers folder and everything builds correctly. I created a link to /EmailMe/ but that doesn't work. This is the first time i am going to develop asp.net web application for mobiles. All these while i thought there are seperate project templates available in VS2008 and VS2010 as i used to see them in VS2003. Now it is missing. I have also seen assemplies(System.Web.Mobile) available in .net framework for mobile based web controls. I googled, i did not find any convincing results :(.
Do i need to use the same Asp.net WebSite template for both desktop browsers and mobile browsers just by considering the screen layout?. that is i should detect if the request is from desktop browsers use one type of layout and other for mobile browsers. If my understanding is right? how do i test those web pages for different mobile models?

When I made an AJAX call to an ASP.NET page, I had a mechanism to return some text based on QueryString parameters. Such as :
Response.Write("<text>");
But in the response, I got a lot of extra information about viewstate status. This does not happen in classic ASP or PHP. Also if I ask for the whole page, it returns it with the page directive
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="_Default" %>
How to avoid this extra information and pass only the required one?
Currently I am using PHP page for returning things for the same purpose. It works totally fine.
