Sep 10, 2010In my shopping website..... I had integrated Paypal. Using the Developer / SandBox Version I had already tested the site from my local machine. It is working fine.
But after uploading the files in shared web-Server, whenever I am trying to call the Paypal, then always it is showing me the following error. The operation has timed out Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

PayPal Integration - View Cart In Master Page?
May 15, 2010I have an Add to Cart button on a Content Page. It works perfectly well.
I HAD a View Cart button on the Content Page, also. It worked perfectly well.
Problem...
As the View Cart button isn't linked to any specific page/product, I moved it to my Master page and the code behind to my MasterPage.aspx.vb file. Upin doing that, Visual Studio complained: "Name 'ClientScript' is not declared".
I know noting about JavaScript and have been working with code copied and pasted from these forums for months but now in adjusting my code so it works from the Master Page.
Here is code: first for the Add to Cart button in the Content Page, then for the View Cart button in the Mater Page (just the code behind)...

I pasted in the button code where I have put "xxxxx", but it's all a mess and I can't seem to get the button to appear.
PayPal Test Example Is Not Working - Getting Error / Unable To Send To PayPal
Nov 1, 2010 I was having trouble getting my shopping cart to connect to paypal. So I wrote a simple webform that has one button and one label. If I comment out the response.redirect(url) and look at the content that get written to Lable1.Text it looks find. Also, if I copy the content of the label and paste it into my web browser it goes to Paypal and displays correctly.
However, if I uncomment the response.redirect(url) I get the following error: ERROR: Unable to Send to PayPal - Thread was being aborted.
I am testing from localhost??? Should I be able to test this from localhost?
I have put ??? where my Sandbox email address is.....I don't know if letting other see that or not is an issue....otherwise I would have left it in for someone to try this code.

Development - ASP Integration Environment
Jun 22, 2010My dev team and I would like to setup a development environment for our ASP.NET projects. BY development environment i do not mean Visual Studio. I mean, that we have a Database Server, a Application Server and a Web Server in a 'Development Environment'. We want to use this as our integration environment. Where the developers all work on there parts of ASP.NET Applications and then we can push our new changes up to test them as a whole. My Question is , what is the best way to deploy our code together without stepping on our toes?

Then I have the application layer, built in asp.net. This is basically connecting web forms and reports to a sql database. (Sounds so simple when put that way)Our department is merging with another department. Both MS shops, but they are using the CRM to manage workflow internally, user roles, web forms and the back end sql. It seems at first glance, that it's a well thought out comprehensive system. So my question is this: How extensible is ms crm, and where does a dot net web app programmer 'attach' to the system? Could I interface my current web apps with the crm back end for example, and populate the crm mechanisem?

I'm working with Visual Web Developer 2010 Express and I'm a VB coder. With that said I need web application that reads and modifies information in two location. Some information is from AD and the other is from a SQL db.
I took a stock Web Application that came with some predefined pages, one being a login page, and modified the login sequence to use AD for authentication.
Now I'm needing to do a few more things. I know how to read information from a SQL database but not from ActiveDirectory.
I want to take the currently logged in user and pull some information from AD: first name, last name, middle name, address, department, phone number, email address, etc.
I'm lost on how to read/write to AD.

All the process works great i.e., site successfully redirects to paypal and the users can successfully subscibe, but the problem is the "notify_Url" variable redirects the paypal to my site page but when I send a request from that page to validate the payment process the paypal always send the response as "Invalid".
