PayPal Integration - View Cart In Master Page?

May 15, 2010

I have an Add to Cart button on a Content Page. It works perfectly well.

I HAD a View Cart button on the Content Page, also. It worked perfectly well.

Problem...

As the View Cart button isn't linked to any specific page/product, I moved it to my Master page and the code behind to my MasterPage.aspx.vb file. Upin doing that, Visual Studio complained: "Name 'ClientScript' is not declared".

I know noting about JavaScript and have been working with code copied and pasted from these forums for months but now in adjusting my code so it works from the Master Page.

Here is code: first for the Add to Cart button in the Content Page, then for the View Cart button in the Mater Page (just the code behind)...

[Code]....

C# - Looking For Recommendations For A Shopping Cart Control With Paypal Connection?

Aug 9, 2010

I am looking for a nice control that allows me to have a shopping cart on my webpage.

Requirements:- Easy to implement. I want to add items into the cart from everywhere. Like

mycart.Add(new CartItem("Name", "Description", Price"))

Implemented shopping cart overview with the ability to delete previous added items.Allows connection to Paypal

(I've already found http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1522832/looking-for-a-lightweight-asp-net-shopping-cart-that-is-paypal-compatible but the posted solution "shopping cart .net" does not seem to fulfill the third requirement, If I'm not mistaken.)

Put The Simplest PayPal Button / "Website Payments Standard Integration Guide"?

Jan 12, 2010

I am completing a website on which a single object is sold. I want to put the simplest PayPal button. I created the code of the button using the instructions on pp19 to 21 of "Website Payments Standard Integration Guide".

The code that was created was :

<code>
<form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post">
<input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_s-xclick">
<input type="hidden" name="hosted_button_id" value="123456789">
<input type="image" src="https://www.paypal.com/en_US/GB/i/btn/btn_buynowCC_LG.gif" border="0" name="submit" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online.">
<img alt="" border="0" src="https://www.paypal.com/en_GB/i/scr/pixel.gif" width="1" height="1">
</form>
</code>
(I have altered the value value just for this post)

The HTML of the payment page is :

<code>
<%@ Page Language="VB" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeFile="Page05.aspx.vb" Inherits="Page05" %>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head id="Head1" runat="server">
<title>Page05</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /><link href="Eng05.css" type="text/css" rel="Stylesheet" />
</head>
<body>
<form id="Form5" method="post" runat="server">
<a id="ankera-p5"></a>
<div id="container">
<div id="inner_container">
<p>THE "ANY SMALL AD" WEB SITE</p>
<p>How to pay</p>

xxxxxxxx

<p><a href="Page11.aspx#ankera-p11" >Back to Services page</a></p>
<p><a href="Default.aspx#ankera-p1" >Back to home page</a></p>
<p></p>
</div> <!-- End of inner container -->
</div> <!-- End of container -->
</form>
</body>
</html>
</code>

I pasted in the button code where I have put "xxxxx", but it's all a mess and I can't seem to get the button to appear.

Web Forms :: Display Cart Items In Master File?

Oct 22, 2010

We have a section of our site that allows you to add items to a cart, nothing to sell.. just keep while you are on the site and can go back to..

On the page that you have that ability to add items, i also have a label that displays the number of items.. Now that we are going to go live with this, thay have moved the count to the menu, but the menu is within the Site.Master file, so its not being populated. But it works fine on the page where you can add items..

So what can i do to accomplish the task of displaying the total number from my master file, right now you can only see the accurate number on the page you add to cart.. once you select another page, you dont have it anymore..

This is within my event for the "Add to Cart" button, this works, because the label is on this page. But now the label is within the master file and even though the below works, the number doesnt update on the menu .

MVC :: Include View Content Page In My Master Page

Feb 21, 2010

I want to include view content page in my master page: My MVC application Left Menu MainPage. The Left Menu and Main page are two contentHolders in the master page. How can I add the Left Menu (View content page) to my Master page?. The Left Menu page is going to be a permanent page. The Content in the main Page is going to change. Left Menu content needs to be the permanent content for all other pages.

I searched in the internet, but I didn't find any solution that solves my problem. Basically I need some permanent menu items in the left page. But, I should not write the code in my master page. I need to add that Menucontent as my contentPage to the master. I have tried that by adding a New content page called "LeftPage.aspx" in View/Home folder.I have referred this page to the master "Left content holder". As the ASP.Net MVC talk to the controller, the left menu is not getting displayed while page loading.If i specify the ControlAction for this left page and specify the URL as //Home/Left ;then the page is getting displayed with only the left page content.

PayPal Test Example Is Not Working - Getting Error / Unable To Send To PayPal

Nov 1, 2010

I was having trouble getting my shopping cart to connect to paypal. So I wrote a simple webform that has one button and one label. If I comment out the response.redirect(url) and look at the content that get written to Lable1.Text it looks find. Also, if I copy the content of the label and paste it into my web browser it goes to Paypal and displays correctly.

However, if I uncomment the response.redirect(url) I get the following error: ERROR: Unable to Send to PayPal - Thread was being aborted.

I am testing from localhost??? Should I be able to test this from localhost?

I have put ??? where my Sandbox email address is.....I don't know if letting other see that or not is an issue....otherwise I would have left it in for someone to try this code.

[Code]....

This is what displays in the lable1.text when response.redirect is commented out

C# - How To Render A Partial View By Name Within A Master Page

Jan 16, 2011

I am trying to implement something like Ruby on Rail's ActionDispatch::Flash to pass messages to the next page request. The approach that I want to take is to store a pair of (partial view name, model object) in the session context and render it in the master page when rendering the request to display the flash message.

Inside my HttpApplication subclass I now have:

[Code]....

to render the partial view that was specified by name when Global#Flash was called.

I want to use a view for the flash message instead of saving the message as a string in the session context because I want to include the URL in the message:

<%-- BookmarkAddedFlash.ascx --%>
<%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<MyApp.Web.Models.Bookmark_AddModel>" %>
<%: Html.DisplayTextFor(m => m.Url) %> was successfully bookmarked.

And I only want to render the view when the subsequent request is made; i.e. one request sets the flash message and the subsequent request renders it.
