Instead of clicking on submit button i want that the form should be posted without clicking submit button with hidden fields
I have a form containing 7 fields and I want that when i press submit button all the fields are cleared how can i do this? In my form when i click submit fields not clear until I refresh.

But when the POST action receives the object back, some of the fields have become null. The FormCollection, however, contains all values. I realize I could just take everything from the formcollection but it's probably better practice to use the object, right?
How do i hide button Add after data submission and display button cancel.
View 1 RepliesAs the title says when I click the submit button on my form, instead of taking me to the next form with a url of controller/action/id or /action/id I am getting a nice 404 with a url of /id/action
The offending action is called IntakePage2. Typing the correct route manually works.

i am using asp.net and following code to submit form on enter key press it is working but only refreshing same page and not calling button click event in server side code and without saving data it is comming back to same form, even without the jquery code again same thing happening don't know why but in some forms enter key press working fine and saving data without even following jquery code.

I need to collect the data entered by user for a quote and send all the data with labels to an email address. SMTP server is set up in web.config file, but I need to know the code behind for the submit button click event for the form. I do not need to store any data in a data base just need to send each label,field,radiobutton,etc. user responses to email address. All of the code I have been able to find has not applied to my situation.

While tricky, building the input form from a collection of custom fields is straight-forward enough.However, I'm now to the point where I want to handle the posting of this form and I'm not certain what the best way to handle this would be. Normally, we'd use strongly-typed input models that get bound from the various statically-typed inputs available on the form. However, I'm at a loss for how to do this with a variable number of input fields that represent different data types.A representative input form might look something like:
My date field: [ date time input
control ]
My text field: [ text input
field ]
My file field: [ file upload
control ]
My number field: [ numerical input control ]
My text field 2: [text input field ]
etc...
Ideas I've thought about are:Sending everything as strings (except for the file inputs, which would need to be handled specially).Using a model with an "object" property and attempting to bind to that (if this is even possible).Sending a json request to my controller with the data encoded properly and attempting to parse that.Manually processing the form collection in my controller post action - certainly an option, but I'd love to avoid this.Has anyone tackled an issue like this before? I have an ASP.NET application designed for a Windows CE device that needs to take in information from a scanned barcode. The device sends the scanned data as string input with a crlf to whatever field has focus. I set up my page with a textbox that takes the input and posts back to look up the item.
Now, I'd like that box to not be visible to the user, but IE complains when I set focus to it if the field is "visibility: hidden" or "display: none". I've tried moving it off screen using absolute coordinates, but setting the focus scrolls the window to the new location.
when i click "submit button" on my page it's show this error..where is the problem actually?

I have a form and its code as above there are many columns and I want to do one thing that when user enter all the values in the form and upon pressing submit button all the data were show on the form..
E.g. here is the structure. I have the following fields in my form

Any method for this I don't want to use grid over here...
I have a shortcut on my desktop to a login page for a website I use quite often. Every time I go there I have to reenter my user name and password.
The desktop URL shortcut I have is
http://domain.com/service/Login.aspx
I've tried adding the following changes
http://domain.com/service/Login.aspx?username=ckimball&password=joshua1
But this doesn't auto populate the fields on the website when it loads. Is there something special I need to do so the webpage will fill in the fields on the form?
Also bonus if I could just auto submit to login so I don't need the page to load and have me click "login" but I don't think that's possible... or is it?

I am creating a webform that will be used for capture data. Whenever a certain option is selected in a drop down box, a textbox will appear for the user to type additional info into it.
However the problem that I am having is that it requires the user to click the submit button twice. I can't figure out how to fix this. The user should only have to click submit one time. All of the other drop down boxes work fine, it is just this one THAT IS forcing a click twice

View 3 RepliesI've been trying to figure this out all afternoon but my google-fu seems to be failing me. I'm setting up a page with a fairly large form, which has one field that is going to require some kind of popup page that will allow the user to perform a lookup.
At the moment I'm only prototyping the page so I'm actually only attempting to a the button up to fire an alert when the button is clicked instead of generating a lookup screen. However it seems that no matter what I do the button causes the form to submit.
I remember one of the very first ASP .NET beginner videos I ever watched went through configuring a button to perform actions without submitting, but I can't seem to figure out which one it was.
I need to implement a click-once button for my asp.net mvc 2 application. I have just a very simple submit form, and when the user clicks on the submit button, I need to change its image to a type of graphics and disables the click event for further submits until the server comes back.
Is there an example or code snippet for this?
