Printing Content Of A Page While Hiding Some Controls
Oct 15, 2011
On my page, I have some dropdowns along with labels above the dropdowns containing the currently selected items.I also have a grid bellow the dropdowns reflecting the resulting data corresponding to the selected dropdown values.
I need to allow the user to print the grid as well as the label controls while excluding the dropdowns from my resulting printed page.
using above code i am able to print gridview directly without hidden fields.after added to hiddenfields to gridview , hiddenfield values are visible for printing.after i am using gridview.colums[i].visible=false column not visible while printingproblem is after print the gridview not visible whatever my columns set visible false.Example:at printing time i am set checkbox visible false, after printing i want reload same page with checkbox but check box not visible after printing gridview
My project has the following repeater menu shown on the Master Page. I need this menu to remain hidden until the user logs in. How do I access from content page?
Whats the easiest method of hiding all buttons but not all inputs (say drop down lists, text input boxes) in CSS that works with IE6. The purpose of this CSS file is for printing (using the media="Print" tag in the HTML).
i m using a grid view with paging. and for printing gird view content i used a java script but when i click the print button it prints only selected page . if their is any way to print all data with no paging in grid view
i have a div that contains three other controls now i want to show hide that div when show or hide button is pressed. i also don't want page to postback when button is clicked. i am using following code but its not working.
I was using the code below to query the database and to show or hide content if the result was true of false. I use two panels so I can dispaly the right content block depending on EVAL
In my windows application I'm loading more than 100 urls in my web browser control one by one in a for loop and need to print them programatically after each URL gets loaded . But, I keep getting the Javascript error for so many URLs. I'm not sure why this error keep coming.
In master page I am using asp content place holder. And in my child page I am using pure html coding. When I attach master page in my child page I am getting this error.Content controls have to be top-level controls in a content page or a nested master page that references a master page.
Can I ask what this error refers to, (I have had it twice now over the last couple of days and then it goes away):
System.Web.HttpException: Content controls are allowed only in content page that references a master page.
This is followed by Stack Trace:
[HttpException (0x80004005): Content controls are allowed only in content page that references a master page.] System.Web.UI.MasterPage.CreateMaster(TemplateControl owner, HttpContext context, VirtualPath masterPageFile, IDictionary contentTemplateCollection) +9744256 System.Web.UI.Page.get_Master() +55 System.Web.UI.Page.ApplyMasterPage() +14 System.Web.UI.Page.PerformPreInit() +51 System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) +1104
I am not using any Content Place Holder or Master Page (does the error refer to the Site.Master file because while I can see it in. Solution Explorer, I never use it. All of my aspx files look like this along the top with no reference to Site.Master:
Public Shared Sub PrintWebControl(ByVal ctrl As Control, ByVal Script As String) 'dim StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder() Dim sb As StringBuilder = New StringBuilder() Dim stringWrite As IO.StringWriter = New IO.StringWriter(sb) Dim htmlWrite As System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriter = New System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriter(stringWrite) If TypeOf ctrl Is WebControl Then Dim w As Unit = New Unit(100, UnitType.Percentage) CType(ctrl, WebControl).Width = w End If Dim pg As Page = New Page() pg.EnableEventValidation = False pg.EnableViewState = False pg.MaintainScrollPositionOnPostBack = False If Script <> String.Empty Then pg.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(pg.GetType(), "PrintJavaScript", Script) End If Dim frm As HtmlForm = New HtmlForm() pg.Controls.Add(frm) frm.Attributes.Add("runat", "server") frm.Controls.Add(ctrl) pg.DesignerInitialize() pg.RenderControl(htmlWrite) Dim strHTML As String = stringWrite.ToString() HttpContext.Current.Response.Clear() HttpContext.Current.Response.Write(strHTML) HttpContext.Current.Response.Write("<script>window.print();</script>") HttpContext.Current.Response.End() End Sub
I get the error at line: pg.RenderControl(htmlWrite);
I tried setting the Enable Event Validation to false on the page but that didnt work..
Somehow I need to hide a control on an EXISTING WEB PAGE.But the problem is, this control has code behind with VB.NET which I don't know how to read.. :( (I use C#)And this web page works as like an 'organic'. Controls are connected to all over other pages .This is the part to be not shown:
[Code]....
That uc4 prefix is defined at the top of the page: [Code]....
Some how I need to not show LoginControl1.Here is what I tried, first I tried to disable it using: [Code]....
I added Visible="false", BUT IT STILL SHOWS :( guessing visible="false" is ignored :(
Next I tried to delete that control from aspx page and commented out the codebehind function.THIS WORKED, but gave an error at the bottom of the page (yellow triangle error)...This is really hard for me because I am modifying a page which I did not write, nor the code is C# .
How to print the GridView headings in each page, in case the gridview returns about 100 records and we wish to print all of those, with page heading in each page.
I would like to ask a question about hiding a drop down in my gridview. I have a gridview and I have a drop down list to control the page size of that gridview. when there is data in that gridview, it is fine for user to see the drop down list. But when there are records in the gridview, I do not want the user to see this drop down list. How can I hide it when there is no data?
I am using a gridview where i have a table kind of structure inside each gridview row. Inside that table i am having various labels and corresponding values in front of them. Now i want to hide the label itself when the corresponding value is not fetched(or is null) from the database.
Working on a site where a user does a search, it takes the input from the user and then runs an SQL command to return the data in a gridview for the user to see. I also have a button where the user can see all the results from the DB (this will be taken out later but for now the DB is pretty small) This is all working fine, but the problem I am having is that when you look at the page source the gridview populates everything in tables on the page. This makes it really easy to just copy and paste and get everything from my database. How can I go about displaying the information to the user in a gridview, but hiding the table information in the html page source?
I am getting this error "Only Content controls are allowed directly in a content page that contains Content controls". I am using a single aspx page and not a separate cs file. Now, to write code inside aspx page, I am using <script> tag. Now, my problem is inside one of the method I have to use <script> tag. Now, when i use that this error comes. Eg
I'm using this Ajax script [URL] to load content from an aspx page on another server than the page calling the content. So far I've learned that this is a no go. The problem seems to be that when using an absolute link to content the script fails as apposed to using a relative link.
I've searched the web for about 10 hours now, and I still haven't found what I'm looking for.
