I wish to know the way to add ASP.NET ("Machine_Name"IIS_IUSRS) to user role in COM+ component programmatically using C#. So whenever my COM+ component is being installed, ASP.NET user is created under Role.

I am using the ASP.NET membership system and I have found the ability to 'add user to role' programtically, but I am wondering if there is a way of changing a user role?
I don't simply want to add a user to another role and I can't seem to find the 'remove user from role' command.
I'm using a custom role provider (written by another developer) that uses our active directory username (obtained from HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name) along with a SQL table.
Anyways, when I update my SQL table to update my roles I need to close my web browser (Internet Explorer 7) in order for my new security to become effective.
I've tried using Session.Abandon() but that doesn't help.
How can I refresh my security?
Ideally I want something like: Roles.RefreshCurrent()

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to allow logged user who are in department XYZ to perform some task for my third party App. I have two SQL tables named Users & UserList. The third party app (GoldMine) graps the USERNAME from the Users table and store it as UserID which I then referecnce SessionID. The UserList table has two columns (GM_UserName & Department) which I'm interested in. When a user login into the 3rd party app (GoldMine), i then compare the USERNAME (from Users table) to GM_UserName (from UserList table) and see whether GM_UserName is in = 'Dept XYZ'. Take a look at the SQL query below.

View 1 RepliesI am trying to stop the data flow when certain conditions happen in the script component. Like if a row in the data set has an invalid date, I dont want that dataset to be inserted in the tables or go through OLEDB Destination, rather I want the entire data flow for that dataset to stop and go back to the control flow page.
I have tried mulitple solutions but nothing worked. Conditional Split ends up inserting the correct rows, but I just dont want anyting to be inserted when one row is bad, where as I do want the entire dataset to be inserted if all rows are good.
How can I fail the component when certain conditions happen int eh script component.
I want to implement access control for usercontrols depending on user role(s), I want to do it on the control base class, in such way that on every user control I only need to set a string with allowed roles to see the user control

I have searched everywhere and can't find a great solution. All I want to do is have about 40 extra fields that save to a SQL database when creating a new user. Will also need to keep the functionality of roles so I don't want to completely override the built in functions.
I have seen the ability to put the data into a profile, but as I understand that will not save to the database in a form that I could join/select against.
There's the ability to tie onto the end of the CreateUserWizard1_CreatedUser, but then it's an extra select/insert into a separate table. Would be nice if I could keep everything in 1 function and in 1 table.
So what is the best way to add a bunch of extra fields into the database when creating a new user?
I am in the process of creating a user control that enables content areas of our web application to be editable. The control utilizes the asp.net membership/role providers and incorporates a LoginView that only displays the edit link if a user has logged in and is a member of the desired role. What I would like to be able to do is pass the "role" as a property of the control so it can be set dynamically and does not have to be hard coded into the control if I use elsewhere in another application.

What I want to do is populate the data components based on the parent's page title where the user control is called.
The parent page title is the most logical unique name to each page and so that would be the name that I want to import
as the default value for the data components select parameter. Each page name is stored in my sql data table [Towns] as TownsName.
The general idea is that the control will populate with the towns data based on the page title of the parent page.

There used to a lot of tutorials on the asp.net site and I can't find any of them anymore. Anyway, I'm looking for a tutorial on how to send out an email to the newly registered user for verficiation. After the user checks his/her email and click the link in the email, it automatically unlock the user's account and allow him/her to login to the site. Below is what I have so far:

The user does receive the verification email and when he/she click on the link it does come over to the verification.aspx page; however, the user still can't login. When I looked at the status of the user, it's still locked.
im using forms authentication and created roles.
while the user enters the credentials im authenticating the user with username and password
now i also want to check the particular user whether he is that role.
eg:
if username,password are true and role is Admin i redirect him to Adminhome.aspx
else to empHome.aspx.
im able to chek username and password but im unable to detect the role.
