I'm trying to remove the first 5 or "a predefined number" of items from my Arraylist. I tried the following but I noticed It removed index 1,3,5 because the each time an item is removed, the index 1 will become 0. remove the index 0 a number of times?

I've got another unrelated question, - from performance perspective, is it more efficient to sort data in stored procedure than sort using "icomparable" after I got a list of data into an arraylist? (30,000 record to sort.
This arrayList produced by the Linq query returns data pairs of an ID and count. I would like to keep pairs that have a high enough count. For example, keep all that have a count of 5 and higher so if the arraylist contains:
userID Count
1 10
2 9
3 9
4 3
5 1
the remaining data in the arraylist would be userId 1,2, and 3 (with their counts). How can I do this?

I need to initiate an Array to hold 100 integers. Then, by user click, a random number 1-100 is generated, and subtracted from the list. In the next call, the next random number will be subtracted from the 99 numbers left, next from the 98 numbers and so on. I need to do this with AJAX and if needed a webservice. The reason I am asking here is because I am confused...Where shall I instanciate the array and how do I keep track of the removed numbers?

I have a gridview where there is a column of checkboxes for the user to check on for the products he/she wants. After checking, they will have to click on a button. for every checkbox that is checked, the result will be stored in an arraylist. after the button is clicked, the label will show the count of the number of objects in the arraylist, which is the number of items that were checked. However, it appears that objects are not being added to the arraylist. What's the problem? Below is some portion of the code for more understanding.

How do you go about removing multiple items from a array list?
I'm using the RemoveAt() method to remove but doing that resets the ArrayList's index which cause me problems if the user selects to remove 1 & 3 out of a 3 list array since once it removes 0 the array list now just has 0 & 1.

View 4 RepliesI have a simple web app which contains a page of thumnail images. The user selects one or more of these images, which then appear in a 'lightbox' area on the page (just a div into which the images are cloned, to give a preview of which ones the user has chosen), and clicks a button which zips up the selected images and prompts the user to open or save the zip. I'm wondering what the best way of doing this is, bearing in mind my .NET skills are very limited? I have the jquery working which clones the items into a lightbox div. I also have the ASP.NET side of things generating a zip file and sending it to the user to download - although the zip is just hard-coded as an empty file at the moment. Currently I'm thinking that each click of the thumbnail will call an aspx page via ajax and will add that item (probably the file name of the image) to an array in a session. Then when the download button is clicked, the application will loop through all the session items, zip the files and send to the browser as a downloadable zip.
Is this a good way to do it? If so, could anyone point me towards the best way to save the selected items into an array in a session? I've really no idea how to store a list of items in an array. It would be good also to be able to use ajax to remove items from the session array too.
For my site, I have a list of users and a list of events. I will be assigning users to each event. I have a table named EventUsers to hold this data:

On my page, I want to be able to add and remove users for a certain event. I could have a dropdown populated with users and an "Add" button next to it, then when I want to add a user, I pick one and click "Add". There would be a grid below it displaying all the users for the event, with "Delete" buttons for each one. The downside to this is that a database call is made for every Add and Delete.
Another option is to have two listboxes on the page - one on the left containing all users in the database, and another on the right which will contain users for the given event, and I can just add or remove from the list on the right. Then when I'm done, I click save, and it makes one database call. The only issue is that if I'm removing and adding, I'll have to delete every record in my EventUsers table for that event, and then add the changes. I've run into this before, and I've always gone with the dropdown method. What's the preferred method here?

I have house_info table in database and I have dropdownlist in my page that bind it from Shoppingcenter columns from house_info table...

now when I bind dropdown list it shows space in first Item after that it shows other Item that bind from house_info table I mean in dropdownlist shows NULL value (Space) that is in Shoppingcenter column
