View 1 RepliesI have created a report as a local report which looks like this: I'm trying to add a chart to this report and I'd like it to display something like this (so sorry for the crude drawing): It seems like it should be quite straight forward but I've tried dragging the fields into the chart all different ways and can't make it happen. I'm using Visual Studio 2010 and here's what my list of fields from the dataset look like: I thought ObservationYear would be the series and all the other fields would be the data but this doesn't work.

View 2 RepliesI am developing a web app containing an embedded Reportviewer control, a dropdownlist and Ajax TabContainer. The ReportViewer refreshes the report for every tab click in the TabContainer or for every SelectedIndexChanged event of the dropdownlist. The report I am generating is a 6-month trending report displaying statistical data for the last 6 months from the month and year selected in the dropdownlist. I have used Report Parameter to pass the selected date value (from dropdownlist) from the code to the Report (.rdlc). Using Expressions in report file I have displayed last 6 months names from the passing date value. The C# code looks like this.
ReportParameter p1 =
new
ReportParameter("ReportParameter1", [code]....
The problem is I am not able to set parameters more than once using SetParameters. I will need to pass the parameter value for (a)Everytime the dropdownlist item for month is changed (b) Everytime the TabContainer ActiveTab is changed (c) When the page loads for first time displaying the report for first time. Can someone advise how to pass different values for the same report parameter under different scenarios? Can we change the parameter value passed once it has been set using SetParameters?
Have some reports that currently generate Html and function well across Chrome, IE(s), and Firefox.Need to generate PDFs and export to excel so Report viewer looked an easy choice to start.First report went easy and works fine with IE(s) and Firefox but for Chrome I am getting a a scrunchedup narrow, left aligned menu and table with no paging and basically a mess and unusable.I do not want to turn off Chrome and am at a loss as to how to proceed.
View 2 RepliesAs we all know, the report viewer control has an export to pdf option. But whenever the report is exported to pdf,the format gets disturbed. If my report has about 3 colums like empID,name,phone etc.... then empid and name come in 1st page of pdf and phone comes in next page of pdf. That means the columns are getting divided into pages. Where as, in general, the no of rows/data may come in several pages but columns should fit into one page.
View 4 RepliesI have developed a report in SSRS 2005 and My report uses subReport as well. MY report export functionality to PDF or any other formate works fine when parent report is popualted but when the parent report don't have any record and my user try to export it pdf it generate following error
An error occurred during local report processing.
An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details.
When i checked the Error log it says Sub report is not found
I am using local reports(rdlc) files for reports generation in Asp.netI am getting following error. Excel Rendering Extension : "Number of rows in the excel sheet exceeded the limit of 65536 rows" How can i solve this error.

I need the 1 since it's a foreign key in another table. For the life of me, I can't get this to work like this.
I have designed a report in RDLC. I am using Visual Studio 2008 and C#. Below is my code to export the report in excel. It always export the report to xls format which is Excel 2003. Excel 2003 has limited rows upto 65000. When i get rows more than 65000 for example 90000 then the export fails. Excel 2007 has power to handle more than 1000000 rows. I want to export the RDLC report to Excel 2007 to overcome the issue. how by modifying the following code i can export the report to Excel 2007.
byte[] bytes = null;
bytes = viewer.LocalReport.Render("Excel", null, out mimeType, out encoding, out extension, out streamIds, out warnings);
Response.Buffer = true;
Response.Clear();
Response.ContentType = mimeType;
Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", "attachment; filename=Rendered Services." + extension);
Response.BinaryWrite(bytes);
Response.Flush();
I have a web application that contains some reports using Microsoft ReportViewer (Version 8.0). They have been working fine on my local machine with Visual Studio 2005 installed.
But in my hosting the export option does not work neither print button (the show print button is true). Also the page next and previous page options not work.
where I would start on exporting a SSRS report into xml, with specified schema. I know there is a selection to save to xml but I need an option that would not included the header information and that may even be a one click type option rather that opening report and saving to file. Possibility something like a transformation package that can be run with script
View 2 RepliesI have created a SSRS report with a tablix and some external images(both .png/.gif). This report is going to be generated for different Languages, so i have used Arial Unicode MS.
I render the report as Attachment on click of the print button (I flush() the byte[] array from the SSRS Render function as Respone on to the page). Report gets generated properly with open/save/cancel. But on click of OPEN the abode reader gets hanged. I tried to save the report and open, but no luck.
Size of the pdf is less than 150 kb. I have Abode ver 9.4 and SSRS 2008.
how to download excel file containing formula like sum and cell protection from a reportviewer?
I had tried to render the end result from the reportviewer to edit it result before exporting it out but reportviewer is only able to render out as byte format.
I got struck while trying to convert the bytes to a table format where i could add the formula in but to not vaild.
I am using a reportviewer control to display some key reports on my page. These reports are RDLC reports and some of them have multiple tables in them each being fed by a separate datasource.
There are times when some datasets do not return any values. When this happens these table show up as blank with just the headers in them.
Is there a way to hide a table, when there is no data returned by a Dataset (or the filter) on the table?
At the least, can a message "No Rows Returned be Displayed" when there is no data?
Iam using the VS 2008 Report Viewer Control in my project . Iam using the Sub reports in many cases. when ever i export such reports containing sub reports to Excel format which is the major client requirement in our project , the exported excel file shows 'Sub Reports within table / Matrix cells are ignored. If not possible in reporting service then is there any other way to get data in excel format?
View 2 RepliesIs it possible to disable export options on a server report in the ReportViewer control without changing the reportserver.config file?
I have the code to change a Local Report but not a Server Report. We have a group of reports we only want to be able to export to PDF and TIFF while the other server reports should be exportable in all formats.
i am new at reporting service things when i try to create a report i got this error and idea how to fix it

Is it good practice to add asp.net pages into the Report Manager web app?I would like to add some pages that allow users to manage what is in their multi-select dropdownlists on reports. Unfortunately, i can't host another web app, so i was wondering if i should just embedd pages within the report manager?
View 3 RepliesI have a matrix report with a series of drugs across the top horizontally. I have series of diseases vertically down the report. In the detail, I have a percentage that is calculated. This all works. But I want to add a column that displays vertically down the page just to the right of the diseases and to the left of the first detail. This column will contain a count of all diseases. Not sure how this will appear on this forum but I will try to illustrate below:
Total Aspirin Penicillin Tylenol Cough Syrup
Flu 10 3 6 5 12
Cold 6 4 2 9 8
Pneumonia 11 2 5 15 6
Malaria 2 4 3 9 3
Presently, my report does not have the Total column. This is what I want to add to my matrix report. And this Total column has nothing to do with the other numbers in the detail. The Total column is the count of each disease. I have no idea how to do this on a matirx report.
I'm using the ReportViewer control on my .aspx page which displays a single report based on various user parameter selections. Dropdown2 is dependent on the DropDown1 selection (i.e. the user selects Unit A from DropDown1 and that results in 10 selections under Dropdown2, or the user selects Unit B from DropDown1 and that results in 15 selections under DropDown2, and so on). The user makes the selections, clicks the "Run Report" button, and the report displays as expected. The user then can export to Excel or PDF
I've received a request to allow users to run the report for all possible selections and export to their desired format rather than having to run the report for each separate DropDown1 and DropDown2 selection. So in other words, they don't even want to see the report on the screen, they just want to be able to click a button that runs the report for all possible parameter selections and export it to a single Excel or PDF document.
I am trying to run a report in local mode and bind it at runtime to a simple List<string>; I have searched for a sample with no success so far, so could anyone give some hints? I know that a ReportDataSource can be a type that implements IEnumerable but I cannot figure out what field name should be used in the rdlc file? Suppose I bind the datasource at runtme (something like ReportViewer1.LocalReport.DataSources(Add new ReportDataSource("dsname", new List<string> { "John Smith", "Jane Smith" }))
can I still define my report definition file at design time, and bind a text box control to something like Fields[0] or the like? And on a different note, I also defined a static method without parameters that returns a generic list of some type; Yet if a go to Report - Data Sources menu option, I cannot see the method in the list of Project Data Sources.
am using SSRS reports to generate reports in my Web Application. I wanted to customize the report viewer toolbar, by adding custom controls or web controls to it, such as Dropdownlist, radio button,etc. Remember I dont want to give custom messages to report viewer toolbar as I know IReportViewerMessages is the interface used for this, but want to customize the whole report viewer toobar.
Also I wanted to give the my custom CSS style to report viewer toolbar. Is there any way to do it? And If yes, how to do it? Can anyone provide my code snippet?
