SQL Reporting :: Unable To Export The Sub Report Data In Excel Format?
Mar 15, 2010
Iam using the VS 2008 Report Viewer Control in my project . Iam using the Sub reports in many cases. when ever i export such reports containing sub reports to Excel format which is the major client requirement in our project , the exported excel file shows 'Sub Reports within table / Matrix cells are ignored. If not possible in reporting service then is there any other way to get data in excel format?
i have done one small report viewer page i simply use RDLC file to bind the data from database..in this there is one columns for photo to display the images..all the data are disply very well include images also,when i export the report to excel format its downloading,but when i open the exce file its showing below error
File error : Data may have been Lost...
i have tried all the possible but i didn't got the solution..
I am using local reports(rdlc) files for reports generation in Asp.netI am getting following error. Excel Rendering Extension : "Number of rows in the excel sheet exceeded the limit of 65536 rows" How can i solve this error.
I'm exporting data to an excel sheet from the ojects list. The data is exporting to excel sheet well, but I'm unable to see the grid format for the data. The data is looking with out the rows and columns lines.I think I'm missing to set some property or somethnig ehwn exporting.
I have designed a report in RDLC. I am using Visual Studio 2008 and C#. Below is my code to export the report in excel. It always export the report to xls format which is Excel 2003. Excel 2003 has limited rows upto 65000. When i get rows more than 65000 for example 90000 then the export fails. Excel 2007 has power to handle more than 1000000 rows. I want to export the RDLC report to Excel 2007 to overcome the issue. how by modifying the following code i can export the report to Excel 2007.
byte[] bytes = null; bytes = viewer.LocalReport.Render("Excel", null, out mimeType, out encoding, out extension, out streamIds, out warnings); Response.Buffer = true; Response.Clear(); Response.ContentType = mimeType; Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", "attachment; filename=Rendered Services." + extension); Response.BinaryWrite(bytes); Response.Flush();
I get this error when exporting report to excel format., The data returned is vast. The date is for 6 months.Server Error in '/QSecureV2' Application For security reasons DTD is prohibited in this XML document. To enable DTD processing set the ProhibitDtd property on XmlReaderSettings to false and pass the settings into XmlReader.Create method.Description:An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. I'm trying to export my data to an Excel file. Here's my code behind:

And here's the GridView control:

The problem I have is that when I exported into Excel, the texts in column two (which is the Lable1 in the Gridview) does not work when applying Wrap Text in MS Excel 2007. I believed that there is something in the btnExcel_Click method causes the texts to appear as ## all the time regardless if I format the cell to Wrap Text. If I copy the cell and pasted into another sheet or cell as "Paste Values" then the texts showed up and wrap text is working. What could I have changed on the code behind so that it appears as plain texts in Excel?
There was a string (1008901023816550000000) in the GridView somehow was saved as a scientific number (1.0089E+21) in Excel when I exported the GridView to Excel.I am using .Net 4.0.Here is what I tried, but they didn't solve the problem:
Added DataFormatString="{0:g}" to the BoundColumn tag. Set the style after the RenderControl was called. string style = @" .text { mso-number-format:@; } ";
I've got an .rdlc report which I print from my .net app (C# Visual Studio 2005), where I use a RemoteReportPrinter object. I give it as parameters the server name, report name, report parameters, etc. Works fine. My question is, I would live to do an analagous export of that report to Excel. Set it up exactly the same, but have it export to Excel rather than print, probably using some other type of object than RemoteReportPrinter.
I'm unable to Export GridView to Excel. giving Error at GridView1.RenderControl(htw); Error Details: "RegisterForEventValidation can only be called during Render()"
public override void VerifyRenderingInServerForm(System.Web.UI.Control control) { /* Verifies that the control is rendered */ } protected void Button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
I have one problem im exporting my data into excel in that i have one column,after exporting that data to excel now it is taking system date format instead of that i want date format like mm/dd/yyyy
I am trying to create reports in my asp.net application. I using Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 Express. I am trying to display the reports using the Report Viewer (local mode - no report server).
I originally created a lot of reports using Report Builder 2 with the intent of using Report Viewer (remote mode - with a report server). The reports that I created are in rdl format and in order to display the reports using the Report Viewer in local mode, the reports need to be in rdlc mode - (the C stands for client processing).
I need to export a gridview to excel and am having trouble with the layout. I found a number of good articles that explain the basic mechanics of the export. One simple approach that works is:
Response.Clear() Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", "attachment;filename=FileName.xls") Response.Charset = "" Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.xls" Dim stringWrite As New System.IO.StringWriter() Dim htmlWrite As System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriter = New HtmlTextWriter(stringWrite) grdExcelExport.RenderControl(htmlWrite) Response.Write(stringWrite.ToString()) Response.[End]()
My issue is that the gridview that appears on the screen with all of its added rows, hidden columns, and such does not show properly in Excel - the hidden columns from the header now show; there are missing data rows and so forth.
The RowDataBound event adds rows in the Header - these do not make it into Excel. The sql code does a GROUP BY WITH ROLLUP and the last total rows do not show in Excel, although the intermediate ones do. After my first DataBind of the table, I append 5 rows of special summary information which the RowDataBound processes correctly, but none of this goes to Excel.
So my wonderful Gridview on the screen becomes worthless in the transfer. How do I get my highly custom-formatted gridview into Excel??
Exporting Datasource results to excel not just report data.My datasource is a stored procedure that returns a lot of fields that are not on the report itself. I would like the entire result of dataset to export to an excel file if user chooses.
As we all know, the report viewer control has an export to pdf option. But whenever the report is exported to pdf,the format gets disturbed. If my report has about 3 colums like empID,name,phone etc.... then empid and name come in 1st page of pdf and phone comes in next page of pdf. That means the columns are getting divided into pages. Where as, in general, the no of rows/data may come in several pages but columns should fit into one page.
I have developed a report in SSRS 2005 and My report uses subReport as well. MY report export functionality to PDF or any other formate works fine when parent report is popualted but when the parent report don't have any record and my user try to export it pdf it generate following error
An error occurred during local report processing.
An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details.
When i checked the Error log it says Sub report is not found
I have a web application that contains some reports using Microsoft ReportViewer (Version 8.0). They have been working fine on my local machine with Visual Studio 2005 installed.
But in my hosting the export option does not work neither print button (the show print button is true). Also the page next and previous page options not work.
